  • This is the first of a two part video on the T112+ dual motor scooter. In the second part I'll be showing it in action!
    Although sold as the 'T112', I refer to this as the 'T112+' because of the extras. No! the rear mudguard will not break unless you stand on it!
    This brute has a 2800W hub motor on each wheel and can be shipped with a choice of lithium batteries according to budget and requirements. I opted for a Chinese 35Ah pack which is more than adequate for my needs.
    As standard, it comes with all-terrain 90/65-6.5 tyres, hydraulic 160mm CNC disc brakes, programmable throttle/LCD interface with USB port, front light, tail/brake light, user manual and 2 x remote key fobs, dual charging port and 1 x 2A charger. Options are seat post, angel lights and larger capacity batteries.
    All this for well under 1400 USD (plus shipping)!
    The seat post can be removed to ride as a kick scooter, but you really don't want to go too fast with it set up like that for stability and emergency braking reasons.
    Quoted top speed is 85 km/h and quoted range for the 35Ah battery is 120 kms, decreasing to 80 kms with the 26Ah battery.

      Hi TriggeredScream, very kind of you to say - thanks mate!
      I will try to make a video on adding electrical accessories as soon as poss. Thanks for the suggestion.

      The upper lights are: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B076J5X6DW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
      I also replaced the lower lights for normal bright white with no outer rim colour or down glow: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0744FQ461/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
      I used 1 x 20cm extension bar for the upper lights (these are cheap and obtained anywhere): www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07NS1836Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
      You may also need slightly thicker sleeving to accommodate extra wires: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07PFHDT9K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
      Finally, some compound to re-waterproof the deck to the main box - if you decide to do it properly and not just chop the wires but completely replace the wires all the way: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00CRGJDB2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
      At the moment I'm trying to find time to ride the scooter and make a follow up on that.
      Cheers!

      Hi, tracked shipping with insurance cost just over 600 USD to the UK. I might be wrong, but I though I saw an option for free shipping to USA. It took a month to deliver but is quite fun tracking it through so many continents and countries on its journey! To be honest, as the scooter is so cheap, it still works out very much cheaper than most alternatives out there. I can really say that this is built to a good standard and good customer support.

    hi Marcus, wanted to update my story about my T112 that went dead in February, but I cannot find that post anymore.. anyway, the problem was the alarm. It blocked everything, I just got the replacement previous week. But now the display starts misbehaving... I cannot enter to the menu section by holding the 'mode' button longer. I changed the display and still..Jessie Yue simply says it is ok like this...haha. Obviously there is a wire issue, but they dont want to tell which cable might have the damage. Do you have an idea? thanks and Cheers!

    Hey sorry for another question. Have you had chance to work on the hydraulic brakes on your T112 scooter? Mine keeps losing brake pressure where I have to squeeze the brake levers all the to barely stop.. I tried turning the screw inside the brake levers to bring the brake pads closer to the disc but it loses pressure after a few days of use. I don't think my brake pads are worn out cause I only put 500 miles on them. It can't be the pads right? Is it the brake fluid problem?

    • @marcusoroberts
      @marcusoroberts  4 года назад +1

      Hiya, it sounds like air in the system. When my scooter arrived, it had a broken left (rear) lever, so the oil leaked out. FLJ kindly sent another for free, but it was one sealed line. So of course you have to remove either end to feed it through the scooter body. I had to bleed the line which usually should be simple, but there is no bleed screw at the lever which complicates matters. I should've done a vid of this at the time but was so impatient to fix it! I subsequently ordered a couple of spare brake systems for front and rear and may next time just run the hoses externally to save all the kerfuffle.
      The kit I used (there's probably better and cheaper out there) was this -
      Bleed Kit: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B073P8M41K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
      Oil:
      www.amazon.co.uk/SHIMANO-Mineral-Oil-Disc-Brakes/dp/B001EOQ186/ref=cts_sp_2_vtp
      I am looking at alternative brake systems, not that there is anything wrong with th standard brakes, just that priming the oil is just awkward!

    • @marcusoroberts

      Hi Balazs, yes absolutely the greater the load the more current drawn from the controller and the Mosfets have to pump (switch on/off) faster, which increases heat. The controller on my T112 only failed once and that was uphill. Now I have upgraded the heatsinking it has never failed again.

    Hi Marcus, hope you are doing great. My T112 has constant remote alarm issues. The first one become dead in a month, the next one is unstable, sometimes it takes 2-3min to turn it off, so i dont dare to use it anymore. Therefore I would change it to a normal classic ignition key system. Do you think it is possible somehow? Jessie at FLJ said it is only possible before production (which I had asked but they ignored). Thx in advance. Is your t112 still in shape btw?

    • @marcusoroberts
      @marcusoroberts  2 года назад

      Hi, thanks for your comment, hope you are well too. So is the issue you are unable to lock or unlock your T112 via the remote key fob? Is there an issue with the movement alarm? I think rewiring to a key ignition is certainly possible, it's a time consuming project. Can you be more specific why you need to do this please?

    • @balazsszentesi6360
      @balazsszentesi6360 2 года назад

      @@marcusoroberts Thanks for the reply. Actually it is simply unstable. I had to exchange it already as it did not unlock at all(flj confirmed it needs to be changed), and now it unlocks for 5-10th trying, it seems it doesnt sense the button presses constantly just randomly. So i simply dont dare to lock it anymore as I dont want to stuck in the city or so..instead i use manual padlock on the wheels but it is time-consuming most of the time. So I believe the main question is that which wire does what. 3wires comes from the alarm itself. I guess red is +, black is -, and blocking (?) signal is on the orange wire. But i have no even guessing for the control panel wires. Thanks a lot for your thoughts in advance.

      Hi, no it's still worth getting the angel lights, but they have a red glowing ring around the outside. Not a good idea to have anything red on the front ofa vehicle. It means that becuse they are already pre-wired, you can easily replace them with 'all white' ones cheaply bought from eBay. I had to add extra wiring for the top handlebar lights I added. Those ones are REALLY bright but do have a small red glow shining on the ground, so I only used on very dark roads.

    • @marcusoroberts
      @marcusoroberts  4 года назад

      Hi, yes as a rule of thumb the voltage is directly proportional to speed and amp hour rating is related to endurance and distance. The payback is weight, as a 42Ah battery is significantly heavier than a 26Ah pack

      Yes that's exactly what I did. I bought a DC-DC buck converter with a built in USB socket to step down from 60v to 5v so that the tracker is permanently charged and cannot be removed easily. On another scooter I screwed the bracket of the tracker under the saddle but have to remove everyday to charge it. Also could be removed by a thief if they look for it.

    • @balazsszentesi6360
      @balazsszentesi6360 4 года назад

      Marcus Roberts thanks for the info! Do you have the link for that buck usb unit? Another issue. Do you experienced the saddle moving couple of mm up and down? Certainly i dont mean the normal damping from spring under the saddle, but more down in the middle of the column/tube, behind the ruber cover. There is the point where the thiner upper tube goes into the wider lower tube. And between the two tubes there is a white plastic ‘space-filler’...so when I seat on the saddle with full weight it slides down few mm and than back. Hard to think that is part of the normal damping procedure as the factory claims...they say every scooters from them have this thing. For me it gives rather unstable feeling which might be worse by time...

      I have ordered some new brake systems as spares, and it will be easier to show using these rather than buggering around and experimenting as I did - although the my brakes work superbly - exactly how hydraulic brakes should. When the brake hose systems finally arrive (from China) I will make a vid.
      Meanwhile, it might be worth investing in this bit of kit which is what I used: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B073P8M41K/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
      And oil: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01CQVJXIA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
      You might even figure it out yourself before I make a vid on it!
      Cheers Joseph.

      @@marcusoroberts Thanks for the reply Marcus, I guess I was just wondering where to start, most brakes show that you can unscrew over by the brake handle and fill it from there, but I didn't see any screws.

      @@Joseph.Carrion There is unfortunately only one bleed valve, which is on the caliper. You obviously have to pump the oil from there so it works up - air rises! Prime the brake lever with oil and keep horizontal. Use the syringe to pump oil up. Clamp it shut at the caliper. Squeeze the brake lever and keep it like that (cable tie or strap). Ensure oil is peeping out from the lever. Then connect the hose to the lever, Squeeze the lever so it creates pressure. Pump oil from the caliper until it comes out at the lever then gradually tighten each bolt.
      Look, it is actually easier to watch than to write. It's a case of pump up the air bubbles and pressurising.

My scooter arrived with a broken rear hydraulic brake connection on the left lever. They immediately arranged to send a replacement at no cost and arrived in a week. Also, you can buy spares directly through them using PayPal or card. I ordered some spares just in case. You can contact them through WhatsApp which they seem to like. Yes there is room for a switch, I added an extra switch for the big lights. You can step down the voltage. That's not the problem. But you need to have a switching relay. That controls the flashing on/off speed. The indicators you are watching are replacements for motorcycle/mopeds. Without the correct timing relay, the indicators will either be fully on or fully off - unless you move the switch on and off very quickly to make them flash!

    Range capacity?

    • @marcusoroberts
      @marcusoroberts  5 лет назад

      It varies tremendously according to your weight, terrain and how much you pull the throttle. With single motor only, 3rd (top) speed, regen braking set to '1' and riding with full throttle and I always have lights I can get 40 miles before the battery indicates approximately 30% remaining. This is at an average speed of between 30-35mph. This is riding full power on slight gradients. It might do more, but I don't want to push it home again if it runs out! I have ordered a 42Ah LG battery which should considerably increase the range - this is actually a larger capacity than the Dualtrons. Hope this helps.

    • @marcusoroberts
      @marcusoroberts  5 лет назад

      But I need to test with both motors at a lower throttle setting, possibly in 2nd speed. It decreases the load on the controllers and needs less throttle.

      @@marcusoroberts Just from riding regularly, it will eventually just snap in half. it's inevitable. There's nothing to support it from dangling up and down, like on yours. As a result, the metal will erode just from riding over reasonable bumps. It also goes up to 40mph. Rides good don't get me wrong. However, I'm having too much issues with the battery. I had two of them and they both only lasted me for about 5 months each. And that's from regular use, no tweaking. The left shock is also a death trap. That thing snapped off on me while riding. thankfully, i was going slow. I think the way they built it is pretty stupid. The shock is connected to the break, so it pulls it inward every time you brake. and again, resulting in the metal wearing out and sapping in half. just be careful man. your's is build differently, so it may be safer. then again, they are cheaper alternatives to a dualtron or weped, which I'm saving up to get right now.

      Unfortunately there is no neat way of looming the cables and wires in such a compact space. I hate untidy wiring too, but believe me even the scooters worth £2500+ are the same. Also makes it easier to fault find quickly. The only thing you have make sure of is to label all the wires with idents before you take anything off.

    Need to watch sevearl times because you're hard to understand. Some of your words are slurred or incomplete.
    So it's not 5600w scooter as was written in the title. Its only 2100w as thr battery only delivers a max of that amount. The scooter might be capable of over 5000w but if you have the size battery and running it in the scooter then yes it is 5600w but it's only just under half the watts you claim it has.
    Not to mention the watts your light is drawing as well so i think it's a bit over kill and just wastes more energy and more weight having 4 lights and all the doodars on it. It's already heavy enough as it is and i bet it's heavier than a ebike at the same rated power and the ebike would be so much safer at the same high speeds of a scooter.
    Just plain silly in my opinion but hey, that's your choice even if someone else thinks it silly. What does your GF or wife think of it?
