The kids of Today have NO IDEA of the Great Amazing True Sikh Battles!!! This is a True Story which happened in 1897 when the British ruled India!!! The Battle of Saragarhi was One of the Greatest Battles Ever!!!!!! My dad told me of this when i was a kid, ive been waiting for this movie all my life!!!! The Sikh that was on Fire set himself alight to burn the bridge to stop afghan enemy crossing the bridge!! This is an old True Story, look it up! This is why the British wanted an Army of Sikhs to fight for them in World War 1 and 2!!!!!! Over 100, 000 Sikhs Died in both world wars!!!! The Main Sikh General, General Isher Singh is played by Martial Artist Black Belt Akshay Kumar!!!! I just had to watch the reaction by you guys 3 times!!! There was another Great Sikh battle called Battle of Chamkaur where 40 Sikhs took on 10,000 Moghuls!!!! Read About Maharaja Ranjit Singhs General called Hari Singh Nalwa who ripped a Lions head apart in front of thousands of cheering people! Another True Story!
most important they have stopped the Afghans for more than 6 hours. just imagine. 21 Vs 10000 holding them for 6 hours and kill more than 600 of them. after battle, when they counted the death, it was 1500 around. the valour of those soldiers is one of the fierciest and bravest battle ever fought in the History and it is one of the battle lessons in many armies
Great reaction video guys! Saw this movie yesterday and it really is a great movie. It's on at your local cineworld or probably somewhere else and it's 150mins run time with an interval at 80mins for you to top up your popcorn and drinks. the 21 Sikhs were given a job to hold their post until more help arrived which they did ,unfortunately they didn't exactly win against 10,000 but managed to hold them for very long time , eventually the 21 Sikhs all died in the battle but they did manage to stop the Afghan from advancing

You can't believe but it's true This is the story of 21 Sikhs who fought with 10,000 mans They fight for our owner and for freedom and the fort name is SARAGADHI
Gurmukh singh was among the 21 soldiers that survived. Forget about the number, for them to stand there and battle 10,000 invaders is a big thing and we are so proud. Sad that hardly people know about this and this huge sacrifice.
The last fire seen is a real part of history, he was put on fire and yet he didnt flinch. They wanted the Sikhs to scream for death, he was the messenger of the group and the last soldier alive at that time . He died coming out burning in front of them, showing his strength.
The basic theme about these true events is never give up when you stand up for something that you believe and die for to keep up to your beliefs. The Soldiers who truly believe die for their dignity and faith. So many events had occured in our recorded history; but not all had been brought into limelight.

Not 600 deaths, 600 casualties. That means they were killed or injured. There were about 180 kills and the rest were injuries that were going to result in death
I’m so proud to be a Sikh, we do not fear death or enemies, you have to watch the battle of chamkaur where 41 Sikhs fought against 10 thousand Mughals.
It's true you cannot kill a Sikh person. I am not even kidding. They are the most decorated regiment of soldiers in any army in the world. They are the reason we Hindus are alive and we have a Hindu culture still thriving. We owe our lives to them.
It is known as battle of Saragahri. 21 Brave and fearless sikh soldiers fought it. Later they were awarded highest gallantry award by queen victoria. Such a proud historic moment for everyone of us.
The last guy was on fire ....as pride is more important than death .....Sikhs are the bravest and most loyal in India ......they are not about strength it's about pride & honour
The battle of saragari is still celebrated in Sikh regiment of Indian army. All the 21 soilders of 36th sikh regiment were awarded victoria cross, which was the highest gallantry award of British empire. 36th sikh regiment is a thing of legend for all the sikh warrior till date. Sikh are as gentle as the come but fearsome when they battle. The guy on fire was a teenage soilder who blew himself up and was the last one to die. The afgan soilders tried to burn him along with the watch tower. This is documented. Gurmukh Singh was his name.
Yep true! That was the last of the 21 sikh soldiers in that fort. And he did it as his last stand probably and to send out a signal to the two other forts to serve as an early warning about the Afgan attack.
battle of Saragarhi 1897 - Basic info - Between 2 british forts, was a small signaling post (using mirrors) for line of sight communication, where 21 sikhs were deployed. The 10000+ raiding afgans, including some cannons (in earlier times, afgan tribes used to assemble once a year or every few years & raid/plunder plains to live rest of year) Sikhs had the option to retreat/ fallback etc. They decided to make a last stand to honour there ancestors. The 21 killed 600 before they died. This disheartened the afgan raiders, as no easy plunder be available so post this battle, they left there dead & left. Both british forts documented this battle as was in there line of sight but not in range. The signaling post was in ruins due to cannon, its obvious most survived that & then took on afgans. You can still see some Black & white photos of that broken down signaling post, while british took once afgans left. The objective was to take the signaling post easily & then both forts be blinded & wont venture out & will be easily able to loot rest of plains, but they were not so sure after this battle, if they wanted to continue. It took 7+ hrs for the 10000 afgan raiding army to kill those 21 Sikhs. Best last man standing, intimidation tactics
Gurmukh Singh was the boy who was set on fire. He fought until he fell. He was the last standing and never backed down. They saved the forts...true heroes that should not be forgotten.

The truth of India has been suppressed from the education system - from the battle field to science to mathematics I could go on and on in including ww1 and ww2 you don't hear about it. The word Kesari is the colour saffron it represents bravery, it is the first colour of the Indian flag.
As a Hindu born in Punjab I want to say , ye meri khushkismati hai ke mai un guruon ki dharti pr hua jinhone poore desh ke liye Shahidi di or sabse zada khoon bhi sikh bhaiyon ne diya ye desh azad krvane ke liye
The Battle of Saragarhi was fought before the Tirah Campaign on 12 September 1897 between Sikh soldiers of the British Indian Army and Pashtun Orakzai tribesmen. It occurred in the North-West Frontier Province (now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan). The British Indian contingent comprised 21 Jat Sikh soldiers of the 36th Sikhs (now the 4th battalion of the Sikh Regiment), who were stationed at an army post and were attacked by around 10,000 Afghans. The Sikhs, led by Havildar Ishar Singh, chose to fight to the death, in what is considered by some military historians as one of history's greatest last-stands.[9] The post was recaptured two days later by another British Indian contingent. Sikh military personnel commemorate the battle every year on 12 September, as Saragarhi Day Details of the Battle of Saragarhi are considered fairly accurate, because Gurmukh Singh signalled events to Fort Lockhart by heliograph[13] as they occurred.[11] Around 09:00, approximately 6,000-10,000 Afghans reach the signalling post at Saragarhi. Sepoy Gurmukh Singh signals to Colonel Haughton, situated in Fort Lockhart, that they are under attack. Haughton states he cannot send immediate help to Saragarhi. The soldiers in Saragarhi decide to fight to the last to prevent the enemy from reaching the forts. Sepoy Bhagwan Singh is the first soldier to be killed and Naik Lal Singh is seriously wounded. Naik Lal Singh and Sepoy Jiwa Singh reportedly carry the body of Bhagwan Singh back to the inner layer of the post. The enemy breaks a portion of the wall of the picket. Haughton signals that he has estimated that there are between 10,000 and 14,000 Pashtuns attacking Saragarhi. The leaders of the Pashtun forces reportedly make promises to the soldiers to entice them to surrender. Reportedly two determined attempts are made to rush open the gate, but are unsuccessful. Later, the wall is breached. Thereafter, some of the fiercest hand-to-hand fighting occurs. In an act of outstanding bravery, Havildar Ishar Singh orders his men to fall back into the inner layer, whilst he remains to fight. However, this is breached and all but one of the defending soldiers are killed, along with many of the Pashtuns. Sepoy Gurmukh Singh, who communicated the battle to Haughton, was the last surviving Sikh defender. He is stated to have killed 20 Afghans, the Pashtuns having to set fire to the post to kill him. As he was dying, he was said to have yelled repeatedly the Sikh battle cry "Bole So Nihal, Sat Sri Akal!" ("One will be blessed eternally, who says that God is the ultimate truth!"). Having destroyed Saragarhi, the Afghans turned their attention to Fort Gulistan, but they had been delayed too long, and reinforcements arrived there in the night of 13-14 September, before the fort could be captured.[1] The Pashtuns later admitted that they had lost about 180 killed[14] and many more wounded[15] during the engagement against the 21 Sikh soldiers, but some 600 bodies[8] are said to have been seen around the ruined post when the relief party arrived (however, the fort had been retaken, on 14 September, by the use of intensive artillery fire,[7] which may have caused many casualties). The total casualties in the entire campaign, including the Battle of Saragarhi, numbered around 4,800.
they are brave Indian martyrs and Indian soul sons. they are fought bravely and sacrificed their lives. they didn't go away the battlefield.i salute our brave soldiers.
Yes, this is true. The 36th Sikhs Units, Havildar Ishar Singh ( Commander ) along with 20 other ( Total 21 ) fought against 10,000 Afridi/Orakzai ( approx ). They killed 500 - 600 and many wounded, unfortunately all 21 sacrifice there life. All of them were awarded by INDIAN ORDER OF MERIT the highest gallantry award which an Indian soldier could receive. The corresponding gallantry award was Victoria Cross.

They wanted the man to scream for death.
But he came out burning without screaming 😱.
Your reactions are everything brothers 😇🙌💪The Sikh Regiments are the most decorated in India and the Commonwealth.
most important they have stopped the Afghans for more than 6 hours. just imagine. 21 Vs 10000 holding them for 6 hours and kill more than 600 of them. after battle, when they counted the death, it was 1500 around. the valour of those soldiers is one of the fierciest and bravest battle ever fought in the History and it is one of the battle lessons in many armies
That's why India's Sikh regiment is the fiercest among all. Wars are not won by bullets they are won by bravery and courage. Salute to Sikhs.

the 21 Sikhs were given a job to hold their post until more help arrived which they did ,unfortunately they didn't exactly win against 10,000 but managed to hold them for very long time , eventually the 21 Sikhs all died in the battle but they did manage to stop the Afghan from advancing

Gurmukh singh was among the 21 soldiers that survived. Forget about the number, for them to stand there and battle 10,000 invaders is a big thing and we are so proud. Sad that hardly people know about this and this huge sacrifice.
actual story is called the Battle of Saragarhi. It is 100% True
The last fire seen is a real part of history, he was put on fire and yet he didnt flinch.
They wanted the Sikhs to scream for death, he was the messenger of the group and the last soldier alive at that time .
He died coming out burning in front of them, showing his strength.
The man on fire is last Sikh shepoy gurmukh singh
The basic theme about these true events is never give up when you stand up for something that you believe and die for to keep up to your beliefs. The Soldiers who truly believe die for their dignity and faith. So many events had occured in our recorded history; but not all had been brought into limelight.
Bro this is true story battle of saragarhi.......

Indian British Sikh regiment
These are khalsa
The Army of God
The battle of saragarhi
Now present in Pakistan
The movie about the sniper that you guys are talking about at 8:30 is called _Enemy At The Gates_ . It's a movie based on the exploits of the legendary soviet sniper 'Vasiley Zaitsev' in World war 2.
They actually killed more than 600 of them before dying and in the end the Pathans surrendered
Thanks for the knowledge
It is known as battle of Saragahri. 21 Brave and fearless sikh soldiers fought it. Later they were awarded highest gallantry award by queen victoria. Such a proud historic moment for everyone of us.
True story all were awarded medals after death. They killed hundreds

They gave me the link. I asked nicely
For me I would rather see them react to The Man From Nowhere.
“Walking calmly wagwan you mans” 😂😂😂😂😂 laughed tooo hard.
Watch bollywood trailers with subtitles will give better context
Search on google "top5 bravest battles in the world" You will get "Battle of Saragarhi" on which this movie is based
The fire thing really happened.
madness!
The 10000+ raiding afgans, including some cannons (in earlier times, afgan tribes used to assemble once a year or every few years & raid/plunder plains to live rest of year)
Sikhs had the option to retreat/ fallback etc.
Best last man standing, intimidation tactics
hahahaha

Sikh military personnel commemorate the battle every year on 12 September, as Saragarhi Day
Details of the Battle of Saragarhi are considered fairly accurate, because Gurmukh Singh signalled events to Fort Lockhart by heliograph[13] as they occurred.[11]
Around 09:00, approximately 6,000-10,000 Afghans reach the signalling post at Saragarhi.

Yes this is true and this chapter is being studied in some countries.Indians can do anything to save their motherland.
