Firstly I'm an Irish rugby fan....secondly I'm a sportsman......congrats to England you were fantastic today.
Well said and thank you. You’re fortunate enough to have the best team in the old at this time, enjoy it. This was our best performance since beating the All Blacks in the previous World Cup semi, and we still were fortunate to scrape it. 👍
England fan here. I’ve watched a dozen YT videos about this game since yesterday and I’m so impressed by how generous and gracious the Ireland fans are on here. So much class in defeat we can all learn from it
Enjoy, it was a great win , England played great rugby great tries, I think England have turned a corner and will be feared going forward
Ye smothered us’! Excellent …excellent performance by England!!! Well done to you boys👏👏👏👏
Yes I’m a huge England fan and they have been magnificent. Gracious and humble, we could all learn from their example. Bravo.
As an Irish supporter obviously I’m disappointed but fair play to England they stopped us from playing our game and deserved their victory
Absolutely correct, that was a fantastic test match, I felt Ireland were never going to have a better chance to win the WRC than last year and deserved their ranking as No 1 in the world, but we will give any team a game and iv'e said on these youtube ramblings before, we have something building, and today the kindling has been lit. well done to Ireland for making this a truly excellent game.
Good sport
@chrisBaxter-ly8or don't be such a bitch , you know what he meant. Ireland never really got going, and that was because England played well today
Ireland need to be better than this if they want to take on the Springboks!!!
And I would like to say that the Ireland game is very difficult to stop. IMO Ireland are the best team in the world ATM.
It was a great test match in every sense.
England what a performance well done cheers from Ireland 🇮🇪🍻🇮🇪🍻
Appreciate your kind words. We were desperately in need of such a performance and playing the best in the world brought that out of us. That was a proper scintillating hard fought test match. One for the ages.
I'm Irish but truly I feel England played with such spirit that even in a way I'm glad they won, strange as it may sound : )
fair comment mate
As an Englishman I'm delighted and surprised at the result. The game could have gone either way, and before the game I would have settled for us just giving Ireland a good game. So to actually win it was a huge bonus. I must say though to the Irish fans who have commented, thank you for your generous comments about the england performance. That shows true sportsmanship and class. English football fans take note!
Hello from Dublin. HELLLLOOO ENGLAND!!!! Good God you were good today. This 6 Nations is the best rugby competition on earth. EVERY match is a test match
Thank you. It takes 2 teams to make a great match and Ireland were superb too. I am very happy that we won but I wouldn't cry about being beaten by such a great Irish side.
Congrats to England.Fair play 🇮🇪
I signed up for Peacock just to watch this match, and it was already twenty minutes in. Too bad BBC America doesn't broadcast the Six Nations. They did about a decade ago here in the States. Then they stopped.
Wrong. The Rugby Championship is the World's Premium Rugby Tournament, the best on the earth
@@michaelmarama-de4gxhow? It’s literally a two horse race every year, if we are lucky, the others are there to just make up the numbers
Mitchell at 9 was excellent, so were Furbank and Feyi Waboso. Earl was a real(ly) (powerful) threat too. Lineout was dominated by England; they definitely had the edge. Slade was awesome, great touch kicks and midfield management. I'm an Irish fan so I have to say, Bundeee was awesome at the breakdown and moving the ball forward. Henshaw, Crowley and all the backs played very well, a few little slip ups. The Irish pack met their age old foe...that was a real battle upfront, it wouldn't be fair to single any one player out for being at fault for anything. Today's game was a true test, a battle to the last minute and I think all of our nerves were shredded by the end of it. Congratulatons to England on winning and to both teams for bringing it as they say!
I was gutted for ireland, delighted for england. The best team won, no doubt. Best wishes from Limerick Eire.
So great to see Irish fans being so gracious in defeat and lead with the positivity that rugby should bring out. It was a fantastic game from both sides and a pleasure to watch
Fair play England, well deserved win, super game, great for the 6 Nations. As an Ireland fan, I didn't predict England would win but I did predict that they could win, which they did, well.
Well done to England, I taught they were brilliant 👏
Irish fan.
I had doubted Steve Borthwick choices, l take all back.cracking performance. Im an lreland supporter. Respect👍
Great game and congrats to England! Irish fan!
Great performance from England good to see them back playing well. Hard luck to Ireland you can't win em all.
I agree, but when was the last time to England setup deliverered two big wins in a row?
@@richardjones2006 we’ll find out next week
Deserved but 1 swallow doesn’t make a summer. You need to bring this game every time you play .
@@davidwalker2402agree that's where England fall down.
100% credit from an Irish man here, they smothered us and god did they deserve it👏👏👏
Kind words. Testament to Ireland that this is such a big deal for England. Testament to Irish fans is their magnanimous comments. Rugby is the winner all round.
Irish fans are nothing like the pundits, thank you for your humility and grace in defeat!
I’d like to sincerely thank the Irish pundits/rugby correspondents, virgin media team and journalists for their motivating speeches and complete dismissal of the England rugby team. Perhaps it’ll teach them to think twice before spewing the absolute tactless bilge they were getting so high on.
It won't believe me I thought as an Irish man some of the Irish media were difficult to listen to during the WC ..
can't imagine what it must be like for a non Irish person
Jamie Heap of Shite is the worst pundit out there. And he has zero charisma or likeability. Apologies to any English fans that had to endure his comments.
Yeah they embarrass us tbf. Every time I see what they've written (particularly Heaslip, and I loved him as a player). I cringe. The team would never say anything like that. Be gracious in winning and losing. Well done England!
Well done England and Italy. Great to see. From England supporter in italy
Great game, great atmosphere. Well done both teams.
Cracking game, well done lads, enormous effort, desire, skill and belief, and there you go a great result!
Im glad beating Ireland is important. We are no longer cannon-fodder. We are the team to beat.
Oh pipe down! You don’t represent us. That was a classless and juvenile comment. Do better! Ireland and their fans were magnificent in both the match and in defeat. They will be worthy champions next week.
Quality blokes. These two and Andy Farrel Peter O' Mahoney. Rugby is a man's game and these men make it great
Oh thank you England thank you!! 5.00am Sunday morning, UK time, 12, noon here in Laos and I’ve only just discovered the score and seen the highlights and post game interviews. I reflect 20 years ago when Ireland beat us at Twickenham in our first game after the World Cup victory, I was there that day but many thousands of miles away from yesterday’s great victory!!
Great win, well done England. Throughly deserved (from an Irish fan).
England played 80 mins like they started against Scotland, this is not a surprise. They look sharp, Ireland are still the class act and best team certainly in the northern hemisphere, and i think, the world.
The brst team in the world is a title reserved for a team who has earned it
Not a team that can't even progress beyond the RWC semi final even after fielding their best team ever. Not to mention losing to a team ranked 7th in world 😂😂
Not in a year or two. Every kingdom crumbles
@@MrChenjinyuan Don't be daft lad. These are called test matches for a reason. And this was a proper test that could have gone either way. Forget the rankings. This is the six nations!
@@MrChenjinyuanhe said northern hemisphere. Learn to read
@@MrChenjinyuan: Come on, don’t be an idiot.
Fair play to Borthwick… very well spoken and humble in victory. This game really shows people have been underestimating him, myself included. Great win for Eng
This great win has given Borthwick confidence. I think he spoke very well in this interview, praising his team without getting ahead of himself, and dealing with the Farrell questions very diplomatically.
Well done England the focus on the basics really showed today, absolutely untouchable at times. Given how early in the development stage the team are with this defensive system it's exciting to think where this team could be in 11-13 games time, there might be set backs along the road but Steve and the team have earned the adoration and faith of the fans, they know and believe that the majority of fans will remain loyal and supportive.
WHAT DEFENSIVE SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT?
Massive, massive win indeed. Congratulations.
Well done lads,its been a long time coming.magnificent 😅
England development is moving along nicely. I do believe that there is more to come. Well played lads, no controversial decisions, just solid, pacy inventive play with skills executed under serious pressure from a truly excellent Irish side.
A quick aside to those doubters calling the coach ' borethick' or other childish insults, ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?
Completely agree, especially with the last point. Those fairweather fans can do one..
@joeboonmusic4004 hey Joe, how goes it?
I just read that feyi-wobuso is injured
Well done Jamie and Steve - didn't fall into the trap (journalists leading questions) of gloating! Class act. Well done from Ireland ;-)
Have been a big critic of SB. However, he is now really developing this team now as a positive rugby playing team - so well done to him! Hope the positive mind-set continues- win or lose.
Classy lads, respect.
The best England have played for years! This is the first time I’ve seen an English team run the ball instead of kicking the ball away as they’ve done for decades. They’ve always had fast backs but have never used them, hopefully this is how they now want to play, well done against the best team in the world!
These backs are truly exceptional and it's great to see them run....at last!
well done England. Ireland are a top notch team so it takes two teams to make a great match…thank you both teams for the wonderful spectacle of rugby..a wonderful match for either supporters…bless you all.x
The intensity of the English pack was great to see today. The blitzdefence disrupted Ireland to the point that they couldn’t build their phases or win the collisions that allowed England to show a freedom in attack not seen for years. Massive step forward although I’m still not convinced Furbanks the answer ( although he had a great attacking performance but still a bit lightweight in defence). Huge congrats to Danny Care and the backs turning possession into points at long last.
Strange to thjnk that both home sides, England and Italy, weren't expected to win, yet dragged themselves over the line. Six nations is fantastic viewing
Well done lads!!!!
Well played england
Both teams played superb Rugby and credit to both for a very entertaining test match. England supporter but Ireland were massive too.
Have not liked the snivelling arrogance from much of our media and fans around this team. Another dose of reality which should remind us to stay humble and respect the opposition.
I don't think that the team was arrogant. The press does what it needs to do to sell copy.
That’s the media, not the supporters or players. Don’t believe the hype or nonsense..🍀
@@christophebonhoefferofbelg9846 what are you on about lreland beaten supposed to be the best team in the world long way from that south Africa one France two new Zealand three you clown
To be fair England fans know the difference between fans and media. Ours is just as bad over here. They effectively ended Owen Farrells career cause they didn’t like his personality. Irish fans have been class and never got ahead of themselves despite the team being absolutely incredible so far this tournament.
@@christophebonhoefferofbelg9846 we don’t, we fully understand and appreciate the true Irish rugby fans
Well done. I managed to hear every word. It’s good to see that the recording people can improve as much as English rugby.
Let’s all hope it continues on all sides.
Very well played England, all round great game to watch.
Hopefully this will help the team to believe in itself. We as fans all see the potential.
Im gutted but well dione England yous were the better team today
England played really well ,we even gave Ireland soft points aswell and still won .Encouraging signs
Fantastic performance from the team and the management. Ireland’s defence and togetherness for 4 years kept them in it.😊😊
Congratulations England 🇬🇧 great win best wishes from Ireland 🇮🇪 ❤
Well done England, well deserved
It is amazing how gracious rugby fans are in defeat as opposed to thuggish football fans.
There was nothing in it, maybe apart from a few key missed kicks for goal but it was such a good game. Love the Irish style of play and theyre also fielding new players, combinations with massive weight of expectation. Happy ofc as an England fan but styles make great fights and both teams created an awesome spectacle.
It would be quite nice to hear the frickin question 🤦♂️. Jamie George is superb in front of the media. 👍
I only came to see who was going to complain about not being able to hear the reporter questions...😂
But well done 🏴...terrific result in a match where 99.9% of people expected a loss.
Just hope fans dont get carried away. The road towards being one of the best teams in the 6N is still long and we could still come unstuck against the French next week.
Guilty
The best thing about rugby is the respect. They are humble in victory. Fair play to England, they deserved it. ☘️🇮🇪
Dead right. Rugby fans respect other teams/fans. Football fans often hate other teams/fans, which is nuts.
Well done England, I was hoping for a real test match and that we got, and the best team won.
Amazing and well done England. Obviously absolutely gutted but you were worth every bit of that win. No argument on who the better team were today.
Well done. Stephan #𝕋𝕙𝕖𝔼𝕩𝕙𝕚𝕓𝕚𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝔾𝕦𝕪 in Dublin
What pleases so much about these games is how there is no off field animosity, what goes on , on the field , stays on the field. I applaud you all.
One of the best games of rugby I’ve seen in a long time. It was fantastic from all sides
Brilliant result England. Keeping the rivalry real and alive ! Always a tight game, regardless of form.Congrats from Ireland
Watching how Englands style of play has developed since the WC, does it not look very much like the way SA play? Rush defence, more ball in hand? Having Felix, does England not look like SA in a white Jersey?
In order to beat the best, you have to copy the best. Yip England does look like the Boks.
Who cares … let’s see what Razor has up his sleeve! I expect the ABs to move the international game on a lot
I it is then they are the team to copy.
Irish fan, what a game of rugby. For me this weekend saved this year's 6 nations. With the players England have they were always a sleeping giant. Early in the new coaching tickets tenure, took Farrel a few years of mixed performances to bed in his style, I'm already looking forward to next year when hopefully France are back and England are pulling consistent performances together.
it would be interesting to hear the questioned asked, why can't a microphone be used for the audience
Congratulations to England
I’m gutted but u put it up to us and what else can ye say 🇮🇪🇮🇪👍
Great speech from Jamie and a fantastic rugby game between 2 great teams
A good win for England and I hope there is not a huge media lovefest for Marcus Smith. He got in the right place and with no pressure (as we were playing a penalty advantage) knocked over a simple kick. The work of the whole team is what should be applauded (LOUDLY).
Well deserved England , and it would need to be for me paying you a compliment
That’s what happens what you start playing the inform/ better players in there’re natural
Positions, England can get way better, drop daly, ford/care, we have the players and when given a chance , England are a different team! Stop playing faves and pick the best players for England! Great performance today💪
The biggest losers of this years Six Nations have been the rugby pundits talking between the games. Most of the time they got it wrong. How many predicted wins for England and Italy today?
Borthwick had to get his plan settled at Leicester Tigers and turned them around. This is one of the big reasons he was picked for England. He did not have enough time with the world cup in mind but he clearly has a path with England especially with the young players but it takes time.
Hoping it keeps moving forward and all his comments here gives confidence in that.
A high quality test match with drama. Great for everyone!
Hear Hear!
Most Irish fans are decent and have congratulated England on the win which is great however some of the Irish pundits before the game talked as if England were a pub team and Ireland were unbeatable, it was embarrassing listening to it and if i was an Irish fan I would tell the so called experts to pull your head in . I didn't know England were going to win however i did know that England were going to give Ireland a very tough game because it was obvious if you understand Sport .
Your right, I'm Irish and I cringe listening to the Irish pundits before every game, well done England best team today
Ireland 🍀supporter. Well done England. Home advantage helps a lot.
Englands performances were awful before home advantage is clearly not the only reason for they victory today
Backhanded
As someone from Ireland how do I not say I'm heart-broken. I could say we were missing star players Hansen, Sexton, Ringrose. I could say it was a bad call by Murray to kick it to the side lines rather than run it up the field with just 90 seconds left with Ireland struggling to win their own line outs much less the English line outs. However England deserved to be a lot further ahead their kicking game was terrible and with Owen Farrell they would have been a lot further ahead. I'm not going make excuses either and say Ireland played badly because that's not fair it takes away what England was able to do. Ireland played very well they just scrambled and I don't think they were expecting to play an English team like this. And I don't want to blame the match on 1 bad call with Murray when Ireland should have been a lot further behind. England haven't played this well since the semis in the world cup against South Africa.
Sure it would have been a nice pick me up for Ireland being the 2nd favourites to win the world cup after France going in as the best in the world to break history and win 2 grand slams back to back. But that's life and it's part of why we love this sport as we don't always get the happily ever after.
It makes it difficult to see any team winning 2 grand slams back to back. But with that said well done England you deserved to win and were clearly the better team on the field. I'm looking forward to a rematch.
That's nothing to take away from how good Ireland are right now I think unless someone can correct me this the 3rd game Ireland lost in 3 years 1 to France 2 years ago in the 6 nations, 1 against New Zealand in the world cup and now here to England
Ireland have bundi aki new Zealander by the way Hansen Australia that's only two there not lrish for a start south Africa world champions what's your man about best team in the world they are far from that let's have it right now ffs 😮
@@davidmcmahon5234 Interesting that the man who dropped the goal is from the Philippines.
I'm not going go back and forth 17th wins in a row before New Zealand beat us so the facts speak for themselves. But the fact remains England were the better team here.
Good summation mate...you speak like a fan with intelligence as opposed to a lot of idiotic tub-thumpers.
As an 🏴 fan I am obviously ecstatic that we beat you today...I 💯 didn't see that coming!
And yes the absence of some of your 1st choice players could have had an effect...but I would say that we are also missing some of our best as well...eg Farrell and Tom Curry...plus arguably Arundell.
Overall the main reason I think Ireland lost was probably more to do with a combination of our improvement in key areas allied to an element of surprise...as professional as Ireland's players are I think they didn't expect an England performance like this...especially from the point at which you were 18-5 up early in the 2nd half.
That being said, Ireland may not win the Slam but they will most likely win the 6N again this time round. This loss gives the players something to focus on.
England are improving...this win shows it...but we are far from the efficient machine Ireland are. We could easily lose v France next week...but if we can carry on showing improvement then it will have been a better 6N for us irrespective of what the result next week is.
No doubt Ireland is still the best team in the NH...a 1 point defeat away doesn't change anything!
@@bobjacob4237 bob lreland are not as good as they think or you make out winning the world cup for the world cup for the last sixteen years where is it and half the team is not lrish all new Zealanders and Australians there not lrish chap never win it
Correction…South African Springboks are the best rugby team in the world.
by 1 point.
A point thoroughly proved hate or love it...
It was a truly absorbing game and, as an England fan, I also would like to thank the Irish fans for their congratulations. BUT one thing is bothering me about this video, why does George only have a top pocket drawn on his suit? Most coach / captain postmatch are dress code relaxed and Jamie decided on a suit and tie - get the suit finished first mate 🤣🤣🤣
❤❤❤❤❤
😅 England were superb no doubt about that magnificent performance played there game not lrelands well done 😊
So the team that made the semis of the RWC beat a team that lost in the qrts, only 6 months ago. England, the team we have always loved to hate, but really, this rag tag team of huge characters and personalities has really captivated me the last few years. Really looking forward to their tour of NZ in a few months.
Furbank showed what pace and ball playing at 15 adds to a side in the last two weeks
Absolutely, hope those who criticised him after the Scotland game take a long hard look at themselves. He does make mistakes, but he just offers so much more than Steward.
Still made a lot of mistakes. Needs to keep playing, but needs to put in faultless performances.
I think you still want to play Freddie against a team that plays the high ball kicking game (aka the Boks).
Ireland have an excellent team no doubt but to include them as one of the all time greats they have to prove it by winning the World Cup ! We shall see
Brilliant game by England. Well deserved win
Didn't allow us to playour game. Well done also to Italy, fantastic result
Jamie congratulations on a great performance. England was never to be underestimated, but seriously look at the score board! If you have still difficulty in interpreting the results of who is the best team in the world, shoot me a text I can set the record straight!
Delighted to see “the best fans in the world” tm eating some humble pie
Why be a fool
Maybe you should eat some yourself & try to be humble. Funny how there’s always a sniper waiting to put people down.
I wonder what collar size Jamie George wears?
About the same as Trevor Liotta. 😅😅😅😅
As an Irishman, im happy for the coach, the squad and the fans. Ireland should never be so cocky traveling to Twickers again. But I will say, even my English mates didn't back England. Bottom line. It's all fine margins at the top!
English Prem. Eight teams stronger together!
Jamie's a great captain
Bloody good display by England. Well done. From a disappointed Irish supporter
Just to make sure steve, did u win the best team in the world aka your truly world cup winners as you had said?
What did you even just say?
Well done England - you played like men possessed.
Even if we did stick the ball up our jumper for the last two minutes, I would have said England deserved to win. This weekends results sets up three great matches next weekend for different reasons. France look like they are going to bounce off bottom.
Hints that the tides are turning with England and Ireland yes they’d beat us on a World Cup knockout at the moment but! It’s turning slowly
Well done England. Spanked Ireland
Nobody got spanked
@@Driver2616 depends what on your definition. England utterly dominated every facet of the game. The score line flattered Ireland. They got spanked physically, mentally and tactically.

The abuse this man has taken since he took over, he’s been called incompetent, inept, bone idle, out of his depth, dumb and dumber (inc Sinfield) and some even saying he has the mental age of a 7 year old and through it all we eventually get a performance like that, well done Steve and Co….great win, I knew you could do it. I really think Ireland need to look at our lineout coach. Clutch game the lineout cost us.
Summing up england played well and they needed too against a very good ireland team ,to be honest england have not shown in snyeay in thos 6 nations tournament that they could raise their game to the level they did yesterday !!
Ireland are a good team undoubtedly but ate they as good as the england WC winning team ? I think the difference is england had leaders throughout their team and thats the only differennce i can see !!
England deserved it. Iteland made it easier with the 6/2 split and losing a back in the first five minutes. I doubt they'll do that again.
