Wow, you have such a beautiful voice! I can really tell that you connected with the song! Singing with such emotion is not an easy thing to do, and you executed it beautifully! Well done, and I wish you the best of luck...
Idk but when Marianna Anderson and Paul song this song it felt more powerful like there was something more than just their voice there she seems to be pretty but all she can do is sing it though she tries to put emotion in it it's just not the same for some reason
I can't give you a technical critique. I will simply say that I really enjoyed listening to your performance - really a nice sounding voice. I also enjoyed the piano accompaniment.
I think trying to adhere to the style of the piece was not genuine. I think its important to bring yourself and culture to spirituals. You don't need to change vocal color to match the piece. Bring the piece to you and not you to the piece. There were some pretty moments in the higher register but it could have been warmer.
It's not nice to criticise a persons artistic efforts but if they are not subject to criticism, it isn't art. The performer has made a great deal of effort but who ever trained her have murdered more than the song. This girl has talent and breaking up the vowels into dee, ee, ee, eep is too chunky, too many theatrics too and not enough ability. The song should always be the most important part of the performance, not the singer. Sing as if you believe the words and care about their meaning.
Beautiful tone and voice. I love the resonance in your voice. However, I just have one suggestion. Be careful when you breathe. Sometime you raise your chest. Something that helps me is looking in the mirror or having someone observe me and tell me what to improve on. Lovely voice though! Very expressive.
Style, style, style! I agree that this needs work. This is gospel, not Disney. The head voice in the higher section sounded better...that transition to the high B needs to be much smoother. But the rest of it is very harsh, very much in a chesty tone - not at all good technique or what the song calls for. Work on getting a larger, rounder sound, using your head voice down low and not spreading your vowels. My guess is that you are used to singing pop or musical theater...again, style!
These spiritual songs would be more God glorifying if the proper dress were worn. This attire is of the world and ruins this whole thing. Whatever we do we do it before the eyes of the Lord and if you read your Bible, you will see that this woman is not adorned with meekness but with the dress of the world. Peace
Oh, I see.. so she is wearing the wrong clothing, and therefor that is the only thing that you can take away from her performance. (Such a bummer for you. You missed a beautiful performance) What I see is a very talented young woman at a performance that must be very important to her. I thought her voice was beautiful, and I think that her selection of a song was a great choice. Obviously it is a spiritual song that she is singing, but I always kind of thought that God didn't care what clothes you wore, but more about what was in your heart. When you express judgement like that, this is negative advertising for Christianity. It fuels the stereotype of 'judgmental Christians'
Eat an ass this woman is praising god and also wearing a rockin' dress, I don't see you having any videos were you sing like a beautiful angel of heaven. Praise be to God glory in the highest and I hope you have a blessed day, but also fuck off and stop shaming women for what they wear, amen.
Delightful -superb voice and restrained piano works superbly

She has a pretty voice but there is something missing
Good work that was beautiful the last comment was very harsh and to my mind unneccesary
@rjh4509 Couldn't agree more.
@x3taim4musiqqx3 You should also look up constructive criticism. That's so unnecessary.

I don't like it. She sounds horrible.

Romans 2, brother. It is a struggle for us all.
