- Maddy singing Maddy singing at her Senior Voice Recital with the Bridges Academy of Fine Arts. Instructor: Beverly Laubach. Accompanied by Catherine S. Filmed in May 2008 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Houston, TX. Love's Philosophy is a poem by Percy Bysshe Shelley, written in 1820. Composer: Roger Quilter
The fountains mingle with the river
And the rivers with the Ocean,
The winds of Heaven mix for ever
With a sweet emotion;
Nothing in the world is single;
All things by a law divine
in one spirit meet and mingle.
Why not I with thine?--
See the mountains kiss high Heaven
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister-flower would be forgiven
If it disdained its brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth
And the moonbeams kiss the sea:
What is all this sweet work worth
If thou kiss not me?
Excellent voice, diction, expression, and sound. Crystal clear on all levels. BRAVA!!!
brava!
best version i've heard of this song ever :]
very lovely voice! i am giving a senior recital in 2 years and I hope to sound this good :)
your final high A was so graceful! Very adorable interpretation...
I love this version.. it's the only one I found that is truly beautiful and amazing :) great job!
Just lovely! keep singing Quilter...
very lovely!
i'm singing this for my college audition piece. and wow. she's really good.
Beautiful!
The fountains mingle with the river,
And the rivers with the ocean;
The winds of heaven mix forever
With a sweet emotion;
Nothing in the world is single;
All things by a law divine
In one another's being mingle-
Why not I with thine?
See, the mountains kiss high heaven,
And the waves clasp one another;
No sister flower could be forgiven
If it disdained its brother;
And the sunlight clasps the earth,
And the moonbeams kiss the sea; -
What are all these kissings worth, or What is all this sweet work worth
If thou kiss not me?
Very nice job!
A+ ... go for it gal.
the pianist goes up to F on the first beat of the first full bar rather than D. no bad thing, I've got to play this swione of a piece toniht and I keep doing the exact same thing. lovely performance from both.
My god, i find this so attractive :)
That was beautifully sung by the way :)
@LeeAnnLovesYou2013 Wow. Good luck. I have to sing this at NATS in two weeks...ugh...
this one was much improved over your other video of this song ! You listened to everyone -- better tempo (it is supposed to go at least this speed! ). One thing to watch -- the "windshield wiper" effect. That means -- no need to look from side to side. I am sure by now you have corrected this habit. You have a lovely voice -- I hope you are at a good music school continuing to study.
@LeeAnnLovesYou2013 bahaha in actuality, altos are smart sopranos :)
are you miced? i don't know about that...
nice voice.
though more technique is needed.
What key is this in?
I want to know the key to. I can’t find key of D anywhere
not sure if it matters now lol but it’s in the key of F
That's what a woman's body should be like
I genuinly ask what does that have to do with her performance? :)
Sry Rebecca Oneil owned it! Good voice tho.
I don't agree at all, I think that Maddy G. does a much better job; her voice is clear and without an overly exaggerated vibrato, and also her acting is infinitely better! :)
Well u dont have to agree.
Ahem. Second comment under this one, actually altos are lazy sopranos. :)
