hahaha - "The more I drink it, the less I hate it." - that is true for so many things! I love that your cat wasn't happy drinking from just one of the waters and had to have some of both! Beefeater is also my workhorse gin.
Tanqueray is a huge favourite and Beefeater comes in a close second - both are terrific London Dry Gins for a reasonable price. I like a good Juniper forward punch!. Not a fan of Bombay Saphire. Love Gin - fab video - oh hey a good cocktail is coming - exciting!!
@@carl_busch I really do love Tanqueray in many cocktails and it makes a damn good Martini! Bracingly cold and just a swish of dry vermouth in the ice and that's it - then the lovely gin!! I also love Beefeater for the same drinks! And wow, they are really quite inexpensive for their amazingly reliable, super dependable quality!! I have come to learn as much as I love many gins and types of gin, a juniper forward London Dry gin is a delight in drinks like a Martini!! So damn delicious!! I might just give Bombay Sapphire another try. I haven't had it now for a couple of years and who knows? I am not totally sure what I taste in Bombay gin that doesn't do it for me. It was there right from the first time I tried it. I am always up for giving a spirit one more try! Lol! I loved Tanqueray right from the start of getting into gin, after mostly just drinking nice wine, and even with all the amazing smaller distilleries that I have been to or when drinking lovely gins from these places, (and I do love these amazing distilleries!!) I still love the workhorses - Tanqueray and Beefeater!! Love your videos Carl and Riley!! You two are awesome!! Happy weekend!! 🙂
Oh I didn't realize bombay was a london dry! I don't have alot of bottles but the ones i do own are hendrix, ungava, empress, Gordons (my go to cause of price) and i have a local straberry and rhubarb infused one :)
I highly recommend Bombay Original London Dry Gin. It isn't as easy to come by these days, since Sapphire has largely overtaken the original. However, its worth tracking down. It makes killer martinis and G&Ts. Much better than Sapphire
If Tanqueray was good enough for the likes of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Amy Winehouse, then it’s definitely a solid choice. I had a Tanqueray martini tonight and it was so much better than a Bombay one. You could actually taste the gin; Bombay tastes like juniper vodka by comparison; loses too much ground to the vermouth. Sad, because I was a Bombay fan for years, but it lost the martini contest.
@@carl_busch If you’re really on a budget like I am, Gordon’s is solid too. I had a standard, 5:1 martini tonight with it and had no complaints; what I’d expect a martini at a steakhouse to taste like I suppose.

They are never happy with just one. Lol
Beefeater is always a good choice

Strawberry rhubarb is always good
If you aren’t a fan of cucumber, steer clear of Hendrick’d
Agreed.

Which one has the most juniper berries? Mixed answers online…
I'm not sure.

Tanqueray is fine. We just prefer the others for our palette
