Oh my god I finally did it (after like 12 hours of fiddling and failing). Thanks so much for this. If like me you were struggling to get those lever parts that hold the head in place to "spring out" then actually the key to this is in the first few minutes of the video if you put it in 4K on a good screen and pay attention. On the four of what I'll call the "dog" (I don't know, it looks like a little Scottish Terrier to me) you have one groove on the side that has to be facing the outside (so there are pairs of two types with different orientation you have to get right), that's obvious enough, but the detail I missed was the groove on TOP. Right on top where it's narrow. Shown at 1:22. The "leg" of the spring ultimately has to be sat in that groove, and you can't really position it that way until the head is half closed. So you put the "dogs" into place, hooks going outward through the holes in the way that they'll hold the foil in place, side grooves on the outside. Then you put the spring over the two "dogs" so that the loop is on the inside and the free legs are sat over the "dogs" and just kind of slide past the grooves and sit vertical. Do this for both sides and gently push the two springs down so that they're sat in about the right place (it's all springy so it won't be perfect) Then you put the cover on, I put it all the way on and tighten the screws, this is so that the spring sits in the cover as it's supposed to. Might take a bit of fiddling but if you pushed them down into position and they didn't spring back too much then you should be good. By the way I'm not certain but I think they're one way - the long edges of the head will have a little "nub" on only one side. I put the cover on so that the two triangle holes are like arrows "pointing" to the nub. Once it's done up and all seems sat in place (but the hooks won't be springy yet), you unscrew each screw by about 3 turns and then work on one end at a time. On the end you're working on you want to undo by about 5-6 turns total. Whilst holding the little "T"-ish shaped piece of the "dog" down with one of your fingers (the piece that sits in the groove on the long edge of the head), a bit tricky, get your tweezers in there with your free thumb and finger and you have to lift that spring "leg" inwards from its vertical position, past the white bit (if you can't get it past the white bit as it keeps catching, undo by another turn and try again) and just on top so that it sits in that groove. You do the same to the other side. Then tighten the screw for the side you're working on. You'll hear a click and one of three things will have happened to one or both legs: 1) The "leg" slipped and is sat slightly on the outside, and the "T" piece on the long edge will be misaligned, pushed towards the middle. In this case, loosen a bit again, see if you can push the leg slightly into the middle so that it sits in the groove properly 2) The "leg" slipped and is sat on the inside so that whole side of the spring is on the wrong side of the "dog". If you're careful you can reach the spring "leg" from the long edge and guide it up and into the groove 3) The "leg" correctly clicked into place into the groove and the lever will be springy. Yay! Took me a few tries but eventually you'll have one side done with a pair of springy levers. Then undo by about 3 turns again and repeat with the other side. Eventually you'll have both sides tightened and 4 springy levers and that's the hard bit done. Once you have the 4 levers correctly springy, you then undo the screws again by about 4-5 turns (not enough that the spring legs will slip and make you start from scratch! Just enough to get the 4 "round" springs in) and the next trick is to bear in mind gravity and flip the head so that the smaller "cover" piece is on the bottom when you're guiding in the round springs. This is so that when they inevitably slip out of your tweezers they fall into the notch they're designed for (if you're working upside down and trying to position the springs UP into those notches, the springs will fall into the head mechanism part and usually get lost in there. I'm sure you can imagine how upsetting it is to have to pull it all apart to fish these out and start from scratch. Anyway pay attention to the video where it shows how those 4 springs will be positioned. i.e. you want the long bit with the small loop vertical and the smaller bit with the hook needs to have the hook "pointing" inside and be at roughly 30 degrees from horizontal towards the outside short edges of the head. They will sit neatly in the grooves with a bit of fiddling, I find they can sort of rotate (in the direction of the middle) into place. Once those four are in, you can tighten the screws again, check the 4 levers are still springy and the 4 round springs should just be sort of sandwiched. Now for the "L" shaped metal pieces on the eject buttons. If they fell off the eject buttons make sure they go back so that they're parallel. If they're going off at a funny angle then swap them around. Now you guide them into the sides in about the middle - not the groove at the bottom (this is where the plastic stick-out part of the eject button will go) but about the middle, you'll be guiding the legs under a couple of moving parts kind of pushing them up and it should just click into place and work as intended. Phewwwww..... By the way afterwards if when you go to slide the motor bit into place it keeps pushing off, rotate it. The stepped notches on the cover need to be on the side of the metal spring loop on the motor part as that's what "notches" the head rotation mechanism. If you get it the wrong way round, that metal piece sticking up will just keep pushing the whole thing apart.
Thank you for this video. I missed shaver on floor and its looks like broken to me. I started to search new shaver and just searched if i can do something with my broken shaver and this video saved my expensive Braun 9 pro. Thanks again
I would have had NO chance to repair my Braun Series 9 without this video. THANK YOU Valentin for taking the time to make it! You have saved my expensive shaver from the trash which would have been a total waste. For others doing this job, turn the video resolution up to 1080P or 2140P and you will be able to see the fine detail. (Bottom right of the RUclips screen).
Just do it exactly like him. It Works. Thanks a lot. At first I thought this way of fixing it is more complicated than it needs to be. But it is probably the only way to do it. You saved me some money. I was about to order a complete new drive-train.
I was a bit skeptical when I started hearing the background music but decided to keep watching. Well let me just say I have MAD RESPECT dude! You sir just saved me from having to buy another shaver head 🙌🏼. Thanks so much for your video… and patience it takes to figure these things out.
Thank you very much my friend! Yesterday suddenly one of the two push buttons which realise the head stuck inside. I tried to clean it and unscrew the 2 screws of the base. But unfortunately I doesn't Knew so complex was inside and then i had all parts clean but I can't reassemble back. I was very sad from mine fully move. But now I have my shaving machine back like before. Very helpfull video! Thank you again.
Thanks a lot for this explanation. You just saved mine Series 9 from throwing it away. There is missing end of the video - with squeezing those springs which holds exterior (those shiny chrome plastic parts). But the most tricky part is there. From my experience those springs are not needed at all - exterior is held strong enough when you screw whole head together. But I am not sure what will do over some time with whose vibrations (that's the purpose of those springs, to secure exterior during all those vibrations, I suppose) If you want to put it in anyway, I found this as best procedure: - When you have cassette holding mechanism assembled, screw whole thing together. - Then put the head back to the machine - Then secure the head on the machine with springs from each side. - Insert those release buttons from sides - Unscrew both screws a little - Squeeze two exterior holding springs from one side and insert the plastic exterior on that side - carefully - check if those hooks of the springs is holding that thorn on plastic casing you just inserted. If not, you should be able to adjust it's position (while head is not held together with screws) with tweezers. - When you have one side completed, do the same on the other side. - Doublecheck borh sides if it's OK. Then finally screw whole mechanism back together.
huge respect for patience and figuring out the sequence of assembly! tried it few times and left everything in a bag.. will need to make one more attempt!
Bardzo dziękuję !!! Przy pomocy tego filmu mogłem złożyć wszystko w całość. I w dodatku działa. Mi zajęło to prawie cały dzień. Super super super. Thank you very much !!! 👍👍👍
Thanks, without this video the machine traveled to the bin. It was a horrible job but I made it too :) The last button issue was only to find a better position for both pins.
Can someone try to explain how to put those springs back on? I've spent an hour trying to follow his instructions; however, I cannot see clearly what he's doing due to the wide shot/poor lightning. Thank you.
Hi really appreciate your time in doing this video thanks to my son leaving me with a bunch of bits and springs Only have a question I have a small tiny spring and a long gold looking u type shaped spring I don’t see in your video about we’re there placed I do hope you can tell and explain we’re they go as I’m so stuck thanks Hopefully you can help
Excellent help for others but my Braun issue is different, the ON/OFFswitch came off with a small metal O-ring (It still work if I put my finger in place of the ON/OFF button and press it) don't know how to put it back as I disassemble the unit and found the place but what is the correct orientation of ON?OFF switch? If you can point out that will be great. Thanks a lot
Dear Valentin, The Head Holder Unit on my shaver is continuously slipping out of its position and obviously malfunctioning until I push it again every time back into position. After dismantling and cleaning it, I realized that the very small pin on left holding metal leg was completely worn out, and thus the repeated malfunction. Before I go through the agonizing exercise of reassembling the unit, is the metal leg available as spare part? and can you direct me to a link where I may order it? Thanks for your assistance.
Dude! Thank you! It's a little hard to see because of the dim lights but you saved my shaver! I opened mine to clean it, thinking it will only be the two screws, but holy s***! Every part of this shaver is over engineered. How the f*** do they assemble it in a factory?!
Not all heroes wear capes. I had my fair share of frustration with this design... One of the springs on the side came loose so I probably have to open it up to the point where I can fix it but thankfully the part with the inner springs can stay closed forever. In that part I had to file a tiny slope into a bump that kept me from moving the spring "leg" into its designated place.
Katastrofa! 🙃
Hey! I disassembled, and I can not assemble the same part but on series 8. Maybe you know where there is a diagram on the Internet, I have saved all the details. I would really appreciate your help!
I dropped the shaver and the release button went off. It seems I need to remove the head in order to fix the release button. I can't remove the cover from the head unfortunately. This part is missing at the end of the video.
Hello, your video was very very helpfull, could you please explain how did you fix the buttons at the end? I followed your instructions and could not fix the buttons. Thanks in advance!
Figured this one one out. But first let me stress something to others: DO NOT, NEVER EVER DISASSEMBLE THE HEAD HOLDER UNIT! It's just not worth the hassle if something is broken, the spare part is cheap (35 Euros). If both or one head release button is not properly working, then one or both of the holding hooks on the corresponding side is placed the wrong way around. take a closer look on the hooks. they are not symmetrical, they have a small slope one one side. this slope has to face outward. this is the slope the pin of the button pushes against to make the hook move inward. if you understood the principle you know how to place each hook. i was never able to place the four circular springs. yes, they are not essential to keep the two chrome bars of the outer shell in place, but they are essential to keep the head quiet. at the end of all that nightmare I had a ridiculously loud head and bought the spare part anyway... This guide sadly lacks numerous CRITICAL aspects of the assemble process. it should be redone.
Hello. Please tell me, I completely disassembled the head in order to clean it, but I cannot assemble it. Your head was not completely disassembled in the video. Please help me how to assemble it.
Fortunately I didn't have to disassemble the other section with the white plastic. These mechanisms are insane to fix - I wander what sadistic engineers designed them :)) Good luck on figuring out how to fix the other part.

Such a shame you didn't do the other section with the white bits of plastic. Insanely confusing.
great video except for the terrible camera angle, even worse lighting, and calling every part "this part" and "some ting like dis"
Nice try but hard to follow - too dark, you see more of hands than the bits, lacks continuity, and oh man that incessant music !
great help!

Can you please help me
thx :-)
video is too dark. I can see actually nothing...
Try a higher resolution and perhaps a brighter display to watch it. Also pausing to analyze the details will help.
It's way too far from the camera.
