    I have this exact same airbox on my KTM 1290 SAR. Amazing piece of kit. Makes sense they'd make one for large displacement HD's as well. Stay well.

    What type of performance increase on my 2007 VRSCD with Screaming Eagle Night Rod Exhaust compared to the stock intake and will I need a tuner also?

    • @TABPerformance
      @TABPerformance  5 лет назад

      If you go to the link and check out our website it shows the performance increase over a K&N filter. Also, you will want to tune the bike for sure.

      To get the full benefit of the intake, a proper tune will help, but that said, we have had some customers use the general stage 1 tune and get away with it.

    I just ordered one for my 08 Nightrod, if I love it I’ll order another for my 13 Muscle. I do have a question about the Power Vision tuner. If I buy one, how many licenses does it come with since I have more than one bike. Is there something like a handlebar mount for it.

    • @TABPerformance
      @TABPerformance  Год назад

      The units will mount, dynojet sells mount kits for their tuners. The tuner comes with one license, but additional licenses can be purchased for less then the original unit. I think its around $200.

    Just saw you guys reply 2 weeks ago and thats a sign of me as a customer with a 09 night rod being able to trust y'all. Planning on picking up this intake to add in with a Akro 2 in 1. Any idea how your slip ons would stack up? I see bigger HP gain but the Akro is much more weight reduction

    • @TABPerformance
      @TABPerformance  2 года назад

      It isn't showing me the previous question but to answer your muffler question is there a reason to change? If you are happy the performance side of things will be similar but if there is something you dont like about the Akro setup we may have an option that would fit your needs better.

    • @TABPerformance
      @TABPerformance  2 года назад +1

      Honestly when we did the mod and ran out of room, we moved it down to the frame on the left side and found a spot to make it fairly hidden, but there is no right or wrong place to mount it, just wherever you like best from a visual standpoint.

      @TABPerformance  5 лет назад

      Sorry we don't have that bike anymore to get pictures, just the comment above with where we placed it. There should be room on the left side to tie it to the frame and make it hidden up under there. Some black zip ties are a great way to secure it cleanly.

      It depends on what air filter you currently have, but anytime you change intake or exhaust it is a good idea to tune it properly.

      I would recommend a tune, but you may be able to get away with it just swapping out. It will run better with better performance though if it is properly tuned for the newly increased intake.

    how much hp is gained over the k&n oem replacement

    • @TABPerformance
      @TABPerformance  7 лет назад

      It really depends on your setup and tuning, but if you've got a setup that could benefit from the extra air 3 - 5 hp would be pretty typical.

    • @samfisher7979
      @samfisher7979 7 лет назад +1

      Well rn I only have the Vance and hines 2 to 1 competition exhaust. Unsure of it was ever tuned.

    • @TABPerformance
      @TABPerformance  7 лет назад +2

      The V&H 2-into-1 Comp exhaust is a good system. You would most likely benefit from the MotoHooligan intake. Anytime you're making performance modifications we always recommend making sure your bike is properly tuned to ensure optimal performance and to reduce the chance of damaging your engine or exhaust components.

    Do the factory o rings around the factory velocity stacks actually serve any purpose? Seriously

    • @bothetinman772
      @bothetinman772 Год назад

      Yes they do. They are basically keepers in case one of the bolts that hold the velocity stacks on come loose. It would probably sorta suck if one of those bolts came out, bounced around and happened to get sucked into the air intake. Imagine it bouncing around in the cylinder head on top of the piston having a hell of a time. And maybe with a tall glass of luck, if it doesn’t ruin a piston, mess up the valve train, or worse, it’ll quietly get sucked out the exhaust valve and fly out the exhaust and you’ll be none the wiser until you open up the air box and see the bolt missing. Then you get to wonder if you forgot to put it back in while you look around your shop trying to remember where you laid it last.

      Anytime you change intake or exhaust we recommend a tune.

    • @TABPerformance
      @TABPerformance  Год назад

      Basically if no tune is needed or helpful than you aren't changing anything or getting a benefit. This is opening up the intake significantly and would require a tune.

    Does not look any more effective than the stock intake. Does not look very super. Do you have numbers to share?

    • @TABPerformance
      @TABPerformance  2 года назад +1

      We have 45 (5 star reviews) to share that are attached to the listing provided by our customers. Anybody can cook a dyno and unless things are done back to back in exact conditions it isn't worth mentioning if you can't feel the difference. Based on the customer feedback we are very pleased with the performance of this product. As for the difference you are getting an increased surface area for the intake along with improved velocity stacks that will absolutely provide improvement over stock.

    how much more HP will you gain with the Motohooligan V-ROD Super Intake vs. a K&N filter with a topless mod. $60 for a K&N filter and a little time with a Dremel sure beats your hefty price tag for the Motohooligan V-ROD Super Intake if there isn't a significant HP gain. I would like to see some dyno results in a controlled environment. By the way, I have posted this before and somehow it got erased. I wonder why.

    • @TABPerformance
      @TABPerformance  5 лет назад +7

      Ronnie, we did not intentionally erase your comment. The only comments we erase are ones that are intentional trolling or spam. That said, we have dyno charts on our listing that you are welcome to view. The heft price tag comes from having a solid piece of precision machined aluminum housing a larger air filter with more surface area than the stock K&N. If you watch the video we are replacing a lot of plastic and other parts with expensive aluminum. If you are happy with your topless mod and dremel, great, but there are plenty of people who would rather bolt on a piece manufactured for their bike. Each to there own and I would never tell anyone a topless mod is a bad choice, simply put, this is a quality piece that will help improve performance.
