      In the UK, in Wales, Tata steel is closing the last blast furnaces in the UK for sake of emissions. Yet Tata are opening up new blast furnaces in India, what's worse is the uk government have given Tata £500 million to re work the site to an arc furnace to melt scrap steel. We get told green house gases are harmful and basically close industry to then ship it aboard to then be held in control by the off shore supply companies. It's clown world thinking.

    I have been using a 14 HP Field Marshal Engine similar to this for 30 years with 10 KVA AC Generator. Works perfectly fine. Highly reliable, low-maintenance, and fuel-efficient. It consumes between 1-1.5 Litre diesel an hour. Even if I start it after 6 months, it creates no problem. The only problem with this is that it is too noisy.

      Get yourself a Zanetti, they makes them ranging from as little as a Predator 420 to as large as this one, both pull and E-started, mechanical fuel pump.
      If the right diesel oil is used, and especially, it's changed every 15-20 hours of operation, they last forever.

      @GoingGoneGalt 8 месяцев назад +2

      @@HoverFreddy I really want a small liquid cooled one lung low Rev diesel like this. I will look those up. The old Lister design seems like it is perfect. Weh a mistake of mine, I get to work only on small things like Honda Gx-35s, they are great lil things to install on bicycles but they wants their oil always very fresh if you don't want them to give up the ghost before the time, especially if the oil isn't really high end such like my so much beloved fully synthetic Valvoline.
      On such a diesel engine I'd perform an OC every 50 to 200 hours; with a very good diesel oil, such like FS Valvoline, it could be further more prolonged.
      Perhaps, frequent oil changes won't bring anything else than well being to the engine.

      The old rule of thumb was never buy a Petter Petrol engine or a Lister Diesel engine as Petter Diesels were always better starters than Lister and Lister Petrol were always better starters than Petter.

    • @michaelgingelllittlejohn9938
      @michaelgingelllittlejohn9938 28 дней назад

      @@Bassmasterwitacaster because they haven’t been new for 50 years. The tech to make “old fashioned” engines is by no means lost. We can make them all the same as we did with more modern manufacturing, higher build quality and cheaper cost. In fact we do.. still… do that, but anyway, “modern problems require modern solutions” which is what modern engines are designed for. Computers just make sense in a modern engine because if you know how, they can be tuned, monitored and maintained way easier. Not to mention (as if your generation even cares) that modern engines must meet certain economy standards, that old engines could never dream of. Computers make more efficient designes way easier. But hey, you can just keep living in nostalgialand thinking modern folk ruined everything.

    In the countries where there are the most efficient and environmentally friendly diesel engines, they are increasingly being banned and scrapped because they say that otherwise the weather in India will be bad in a hundred years and we are scared that millions of Indians will then supposedly come to Europe . Are they allowed to bring their diesel with them if the climate protection thing doesn't work out? Greetings from Germany! 🇩🇪🤝

    If that engine was brand new? The metalon the exhaust would be a smoother texture than the one in the video and it is probably a rebuild, with a few new components and a few cans of green paint? But the technology is probably still the same? Old way starting it is to old. A more modern way of starting it would be to upgrade the way it is started? And put on a quieter exhaust system to tone it down? But I guess maybe they are louder because of where they have it? So that they can hear it and you can bet that it's far from the village where it is used? And anything that requires electronics may not work during an EMP if it requires any radar sensors to operate but good old reliable points and condenser that works off of mechanical systems without aid of the government will last a long time? This engine would probably work great in my wood chipper?

    • @MrPaw45

      @@TheWittyGeek It does look like a paper filter housing. Oil bath should have wire mesh in that gets oily and catches the dust, also they are much deeper so the engine doesn't suck in so much oil.
