Ion thrusters work by creating ions (charged particles) from a gas, like xenon. These ions are then accelerated by an electric field and shot out of the engine at high speed. As the ions are pushed out, the spacecraft gets pushed in the opposite direction, similar to how a balloon moves when air escapes from it.
Even though space has no air, ion thrusters don’t need air to work-they use electricity to move the ions. This allows the spacecraft to slowly but steadily move forward.

Believe it or not: The commonly seen "talking into individuality" 'train' most people to become paranoid and selfish... or in short: Narrow-minded and short-sighted. Leading industry have been taking efforts in talking people into individaulism (of course not concerning their own staff, which has to collaborate effectively).
Would humankind be as "civilized" as media wants to make us believe, such stupid and childish "that's MINE!" would have been abandoned long ago. But this is still the major concern, which have been blocking technical progress since many decades.
We _ k n o w _ , that cooperation is the best way to progress quickly, because each individual has at least slightly different experience, knowledge and therefore capability to contribute to existing or new solutions. But... we are educated to be greedy, to care more for inhibiting others to gain something instead in moving a common development forward.
This is - from my perspective - the evolutional step, our humankind misses and _ a v o i d s _ to make. Moreover I state, that this stasis is "educationally based". Although... as long as people refuse to realize, that we need to follow rational findings instead of listening to sick "recommendations" coming from doubtable sources (which are mostly not even commonly known,,,) we will go on blocking our own evolution.
Well, this is a statement, which might seem to be "oversized" somehow compared to the actual topic, but... it is the exact same problem we can see here than in the real economic world - it is a _ g e n e r a l _ problem and is has be be overcome, no matter whether in "short projects" - like this one (where it might be simpler...) - or in big ones (which anyway are in the hands of financial giants and... following their mostly sick "economical decisions").

There was design inprovement. If I understand correctly, the middle stage is not directly connected to the power source. Multi-stage thruster from plasma channel has all stages connected. If that is true, that would be really smart and I wonder what are the limits of such a design. Because that would allow higher voltages and weight savings.
However it really is building on top of both designs instead of creating entirely new one.

      🔴 What Is Islam?
🔴 Islam is not just another religion.
🔵 It is the same message preached by Moses, Jesus and Abraham.
🔴 Islam literally means ‘submission to God’ and it teaches us to have a direct relationship with God.
🔵 It reminds us that since God created us, no one should be worshipped except God alone.
🔴 It also teaches that God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine.
🌍 The concept of God is summarized in the Quran as:
📖 { “Say, He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He does not give birth, nor was He born, and there is nothing like Him.”} (Quran 112:1-4) 📚
🔴 Becoming a Muslim is not turning your back to Jesus.
