Your acetone mix is a good mix but when in doubt use heat. I've used heat several times in similar situations on vehicles. I have a craftsman mower and the height adjuster is lose and I have to use a bungee cord to keep it from losing it's height adjustment. I'll have to look at it closer and maybe it's something similar. Thanks for sharing!!🎉🎉🎉

I wonder who Frankensteined that wheel adjuster. If you're not going to use OEM parts, new or cannablized, or at least do it in a way that matches the design, you're only asking for trouble. Look how well Frankenstein's monster worked out. The spacer is probably too long, or the wheel mounting system was not reengineered to accommodate it. The spacer could have been a washer stop, like the other side, that would allow space for the wheel to turn. Apes monkeying around and destroying inner rim wheel drive gear teeth. Maybe the bolt hex head was cut and used with a nut because the bolt was hard to get out, but that changed too much of how it's supposed to work. If you can get it out and replace it with a bolt like the other side, but you still have the bearing and the wheel to deal with. Maybe a new bearing and a spacer to replicate that rusted piece. All I can say is, Good luck. Maybe these thoughts will help you figure out something that works.

When you pick up these units you never know what "surprise" you will find. The one I am working on now has the governor held wide open with a spring all twisted up. Have to see if I can get that on running.

@@JOEZEP54 Hopefully, a governor spring won't be hard to deal with. It doesn't have to exert much tension to return the governor arm to low rpm. If you can't untwist it, you can make your own from stainless steel wire of the same or an approximate gauge. There are videos about how to do it. You can work with the inside diameter and the number of wraps for the best tension. Finding the right gauge may be the trick, but a replacement should be cheap enough if you can't cannibalize one. Good luck.

Too bad that old part is so bad you cant just put a new bearing in it.
