The Japanese really loved cats.
The first domestic cats to reach Japan were almost exclusively the property of the aristocracy. That aura of being special never completely left them even after they spread through the country.

Seriously though, "bacon echo" is very grating to the ears for those of us that understand a little Japanese and love their folk traditions. I do believe it is is possible to train one's AI narrator's pronunciation to be better.
I don't think iany cats where they sale good luck cats had any good luck in that country.
Other than a lot of them lost their tails over the years, they haven't done too badly.
