Criminally underrated theme and game
Probably might have sold better under the name Budokai 4, but by then the Budokai Tenkaichi games were out and Bandai didn't want to confuse people at the time perhaps by making them think it's a fourth entry in that sub-series of games.
It doesn't help that this was a ps2 exclusive in 2009
Yeah it was odd that this game came out in 2009 on ps2 when dbz burst limit came out on ps3 and 360 in 2008

My childhood summed up
Probably because the game goes under most peoples radars because it came out after Burst Limit did on Xbox 360 and PS3. I didn’t know about it until five or six years after it had come out.
I'm so happy to see all the people here talking about their dear memories with this game. Infinite World and Burst Limit were and will always be my favorite DBZ games. So criminally underrated.

It's okay. Not better than Budokai 3 though.
+Webshooters1 why is it not better...it improved upon it in much ways...
It removed the ability to play as several characters like Saibamen, Cell Jr., and Uub. It removed beam struggles, dragon rush, the World Tournament, and the new characters they added have ultimates that are unblockable. I can block SSJ4 Gogeta's x100 Big Bang Kamehameha but I cannot block Janemba's Hell Spike.
All of these add up to this game being inferior to Budokai 3. Yes they added a few things that were good like transformations only taking up one slot as you unlock them but it doesn't save it from being inferior.
I own both games but when I'm playing with someone and want to relive the best DBZ game I play Budokai 3.

I mean not that the Tenkaichi franchise is bad, its awesome. But now all new Dragon Ball Games are like Tenkaichi, just with a complete new title.

this game made a huge part of my childhood
I'll never get why this game was mostly forgotten and never really cared about. In my opinion it was way better than Budokai 3 in almost every aspect, the story mode wasn't as fucking tedious and you could replay any scene you wanted at any time without having to restart everything (which you had if you wanted to play as SS4 Goku and you fucked up in Budokai 3, for example). Minigames, more characters.
Why do people act like this didn't happen? I even like its intro more.
It even wasn't even made into and HD port. They could have gone with making a collection (even if divided into separate discs) that included Budokai 1 - 2 - 3, Shin Budokai - Another Road and this game and that would have been much better for everyone.

If I gotta be honest, this is my second favorite DBZ intro theme for the games. I absolutely love this song, it's criminally underrated, it feels me with joy and excitement. It may not beat Budokai 3, but it gets really close. And the fact that it recently played in a new sprite animation made me like the song more. Not gonna go in depth about the series, but if people wonder which one it is, then let me know. Overall, this song is just amazing and uplifting.
