I think this is the one of the Final Fantasy's you really love or you hate. I loved it, because of the characters, the story and the music. Was one of my childhood game and one of the best I ever played, but, of course, I respect your opinion :)

In my opinion 8 is the best and the most interesting to me bc I've tried to play ones after 8 and most of them were terrible. I'm 14 but I love 8 its the only one that I have liked and the lightning series wasn't that good.
Final Fantasy X characters were not such great, in my hopinion. I found them a bit "trivial" and not that appealing while the story was a little too linear. All my friends punch me in the face everytime I say this, but, meh, I really liked the emo-style Final Fantasy VIII story maybe because this game made my childhood and I will defend it till death :D
FF7 was created faster then any of the other FF games, FF7 was squaresofts way off getting out of a load of shit, make a crap graphic game put a amazing story line to it and everyone loves it. thus earning the money to make FF9 extra speical :D then at FF10 the main designers left 'cos they joined up with square enix, so the guys who created cloud squall and zidane have gone. also FF7 has the most sequals Aka advent children and dirge of cerberus. FF7 was the most succsesful FF game forsquarenix
