It almost feels like that now during the day, perfect temperatures down here in Gloucestershire forecast next week to be 15c for flying, but down to -1c at night...!
Thanks for the video Bruce, Thanks for the flight Ron... Autumn would be a blessing here in Mid-West USA I believe we are expecting another 5 inches of heavy wet snow this evening mixed with 50 mph wind gusts resulting in blizzard conditions, still managed to get a couple packs thru a quad today. Looking forward to a day of shoveling, laundry and my favorite adult beverage tomorrow, may even practice the adult beverage part this evening I have to make sure I get it right... Cheers! keep up the videos they always put a smile on my face.
10 inches of snow expected here with winds gusting to 50mph. Just heard thunder rumbling---never a good sign when it's snowing. Pardon me if I have little sympathy for those having to put on a light jacket to fly. Love your videos Bruce!
Here in New York State we've been having great weather the last few years thru October, you can be sure November 1 is the changeover day. Mild winter weather through the next week, a few degrees above freezing...
it was pretty chilly at our local field today too, though I don't mind wind though, makes the thermals a bit more predictable (we're in this massive flat valley and get some pretty baller thermals that can be pretty gnarly). Had some good thermals today though, even saw an eagle (first time in me life!). Had this one thermal that kept sticking around so had a fair bit of fun keeping my altitude in check with the trusty bixler 1.1. Rock on Bruce and enjoy the warmth while it lasts, winter is coming! :P
Autumn is in the air and articulated fuselages are in bloom 😄 That's a right flash model, Ron. Hope you can get at least a one more flight out of her 👍
Funny, when you say Autumn is comming, my heart leaps for joy. Your fall means our Spring! It will be nice to hear the birds singing again. I cannot wait. Sadly, we have a severe winter weather warning up through tomarrow. Rain Sleet hail then freezing rain and 4 inches of Snow, blowing and drifting! I wouldnt get too excited yet. I think you have a couple weeks of nice weather yet Bruce.
I’ve only ever built and crashed(1st attempt) a precedent Electra fly about 26 years ago but if I ever get to New Zealand I would try and visit you guys.
At least some flying happening . Ron's AXN's seen better days but it still kinda fly's . You still complaining about NZ's weather Bruce , if you want hot come over the ditch to W.A. we are still having hot . I liked it at #66 , my age :-)
The summer's okay but I have to say that I do get frustrated when the weather disrupts the few flying days I have left. Never been a fan of the cold either -- I can take almost any amount of heat but cold... nah... not me.
@@xjet Sounds like common incompetent government, ignore an issue until it becomes a crisis, a personal annoyance, or an opportunity for personal gain.
The soil at the airfield is very poor so it only takes a couple of weeks of dry weather for the grass to die off and in the winter it gets very wet and boggy, despite drainage. The problem is that there is very little top-soil and there is a layer of very hard clay-like material just a few inches below the surface -- that impermiable layer means that all the water is restricted to the top few inches so it gets soaked quickly and dries out just as quickly. We've had a few days of rain so it'll be back to green again within a few weeks -- if the frosts don't knock it back first ;-)
If I had a dime for every time I've seen this comment. You do realize RUclips is not just running on one single computer right....? Think of it like a large sports stadium with multiple entrances, for the staff taking tickets at each door to know the overall total of attendees they would all need to tell the staff at every other door how many people came through their door. At peak times the numbers change so quickly it would be horribly inefficient to update every other door as each single attendee arrives. Most likely these updates are throttled back so that they only update their peers every x entries, or every y minutes or something. The numbers for likes/dislikes change at a much slower rate so they would have smaller x and y values. Comments is probably a different system again, both because it updates slower, and also because unlike views and likes, users can identify which one is their comment, and they tend to kick up a fuss if they think their comment was not recorded properly. Back in the day, the number of views would get stuck at about 300 until the initial rush of activity had subsided, I think the way they do it now is at least an improvement on that.
@@iforce2d that is not important, Don't poo who people's new experiences. To most people it is a new experience, akin to Flying a modal aircraft or drone, or even seeing one close up. Good to see model flyers are still thronging to the airfield to fly with Bruce.
Autumn on xjet means spring will be here in uk soon.

Yes it does feel spring like but I don’t want to put my winter coat away just yet.
Lovely sunny day today in Suffolk....bit to windy to fly though.
"So will ya be crashin again this flight?" Doesn't Ron have his own wife? LOL Good stuff guys.

you two are amazing.. keep it coming till it lands
I always look forward to Autumn in NZ. It means Spring is almost here!
You must be on the top end of the world too, I have 6ft of snow here.
Great episode Bruce and Ron 🤣🤣
We love you long time too Bruce 😘😘😘

Right there with you the shorts and tee shirts looked pretty good to me, hang in there its coming our way soon (hopefully)
Rons glider was so tail heavy is why he was having trouble flying it .. haha Happy Flying
We have had some record temperatures here in the UK one day it been 16 c for Feb its pretty nice!
Im going to have to give Ron one of my models that fly :)
I’ve only ever built and crashed(1st attempt) a precedent Electra fly about 26 years ago but if I ever get to New Zealand I would try and visit you guys.
Bruce you are invited to Boston MA.... once we get rid of the snow...
Hard to tell from the video, but it looks like there's some foam contamination in your hot glue! :)
It's a pity they stopped producing axns. Nearly resurrected Ron, more glue 😁
Ron should make an AXN shaped mould and squirt a bunch of hot glue into it. He'll never have to worry about it breaking again! 😃
We're sitting at wings over Wairarapa. Got rained out today. Good show Friday, Saturday though.
Yeah I read that -- bugger. I did a promo video for Model Flying New Zealand that they were supposed to be screening at their stand at WOW.
Brilliant sunshine in London today 75f not to shabby for winter 2mph sw BREEZE loads of quads on the field home made planes the lot
Overcast and 11 degrees C here (52 deg F) with a cold 30Km/H wind right now :-(
Good stuff!
Poor the AXN)))) Pleace, somebody, tell the Ron to move the CG 1 centimeter forward!!!
this was a short summer this season for you guys. but spring is coming here in Germany :)
Probably not a good idea to have the tail at 45° to the wing Ron. But will ANYTHING stop an AXN from flying? 🤔
Hi xjet I'm in the UK and we are having a crazy early spring here with temperatures around 15c when it should be 5c
Was off picking a plane up today hence I never came down (plus the crap weather).. if the forecast is correct I'll be down next weekend.
Excellent.
There's a point where a model becomes more hot glue than foam:) Sorry about your summer, but don't begrudge those of us that have it upcoming. lol
that's no structural damage, that's what we call "automatic adverse yaw compensation"
Already on the turn here in uk 16deg bring on spring
Airplanes tend to fly better with a CG. Also did you and Ron get any video in the massage parlor?
I have 1 axn clouds geshopt motor on the nose 2200kv en de vleugels flat whit 2200kv motor its fery fast. I.m happy white them.
If it looks right it'll fly right..........Ron had no chance really...
I thought you guys down under just got into Summer....
time to get a 2.4 Ranger
When you ask if Ron got CG on it, do you mean Crash Gear ?? 🤣

Hey Bruce! What did they ever decide about the tower? Keep it?
Two years ago they said they were going to write to us on that subject. We're still waiting for that letter.
@@xjet Wow!!! That's some slow postal delivery there. LOL

Grass is very "not green" in the airfield. Is it usual or have it been dry for long time?

OMG an Orange Tx.....they transmit all over the spektrum...some clubs have banned them
Nah... it's a FrSky QX7 -- they're a great radio!
xjet oh sorry...yes they are good
Didn't seem like you guys had much of a summer :-(
Sadly, summers can be rather short around here. I have my long-pants on this morning and it's chilly at 5am.

didn't summer just start and now it's Autumn.....?
Yep, we've had our six weeks of summer. I have to find somewhere warmer to live. Perhaps Ringebu or where Arctic RC hangs out ;-)
RUclips is funny
It tells me that you've had no views of this vid
But quite a few people liked it
Yes, even people who never see my videos still love them! :-)
How funny, RUclips shows 9 comments but no views
Yes, looks as if RUclips must have "fixed" something again :-/
now it's 46, and no views
