    Forgot to say it on the video. Scale is one of the most important things when working with SSS. Remember to use the correct scale of the models on this case the Dragon dimensions are 23,8 x 5,1 x 12,8 cm.

      @kuunami 7 лет назад +1

      I have question. How can you determine the proper size of a model if it isn't listed anywhere?

    • @JesusFernandez14
      @JesusFernandez14  7 лет назад

      kuunami calculate the size of your object by comparison, 1 maya unit is equal to 1 cm by default

      Thank you! Yes light conditions can define how the SSS works, that is the reason why I did my best trying to explain how did I set up my light.

    Hi,
    I noticed that you have srgb(ACES) for the color space. How do you install that in your Maya?
    Thank you.

    • @JesusFernandez14
      @JesusFernandez14  7 лет назад

      Just call the ACES OCIO profile from the preferences / color management / check use OCIO Configuration look for your OCIO file on OCIO Config Path and click it. Activate OCIO and you have it now on maya as the new color management profile

      @JesusFernandez14  7 лет назад

      Hello Nelson! Glad to hear that the tutorials are helping you! Its motivating for me to hear that! I am using a single GTX 1080 SC from Nvidia. The renders on this video are x15 speed

    • @JesusFernandez14
      @JesusFernandez14  7 лет назад

      Nice! I am waiting to buy two 1080Ti :D , remember that you do not need a sli for Redshift, It works better without the sli on, the two cards works independently

      @@JesusFernandez14 So u mean if i have a 1070 and a 1080.. I can hook up both the graphics cards without sli, have one of them giving the display and both will work fine in redshift???

      Thank you so much for the feedback, indeed it works like that, I do think its a little hard to control using it and the information was too much already. I will explain it better on the extinction tutorial, as it works more "natural" there.

    But i have a problem hope somebody can help me. I follow the tutorial step by step, but my color can't change like the tutorial ( imgur.com/8OVEZ3i )
    Did I miss any thing or some option didn't open?
    I'm a beginner and my English is not so well,Thanks for your sharing again!!

    • @JesusFernandez14
      @JesusFernandez14  7 лет назад

      Hey Tommy, try adjusting your Phase to see if you can add forward scattering or backwards scattering as you want. Also check your scale I forgot to say that on the video. Scale is really important when working with SSS. THe scale of this model is Dimensions: 23,8 x 5,1 x 12,8 cm. Put the same value in Maya units. Or you units on your 3D package.

    • @JesusFernandez14
      @JesusFernandez14  7 лет назад +1

      You can also adjust the scattering scale its going to give you a more visible effect depending on your lighting set up

    • @tommy20271
      @tommy20271 7 лет назад +1

      I change the model size,and it works!!now I can move on the next step.hope I can render the beautiful SSS like you~Thank you for your generosity
