Hi, Daveyoufool here. I wrote this SCP-001. I get that it seems like a self-insert from what little context you've been given. But here's the thing: read it from the beginning and you'll find out that this story isn't even about SCP-UBU. He's merely a catalyst for something else that goes completely balls-to-the-walls later on. So read it for yourself, or wait until SCP Explained depicts the rest of the story. Either way, y'all are in for a wild ride. ;)
I really, really like this SCP-001! I love the reference to Ubu Roi, you're a well read person. It just works so well because UBU is vile and disgustingly, needlessly cruel at the heart of it and while other SCPs like 682, who has a disdain for life, or the Shy Guy, who simply does not want to be looked at, are terrifying, nothing compares to the fate of UBU humiliating and torturing mankind for eternity. To me this is what makes this so great and I haven't even got to the end part yet. Thank you so much for writing this!
Good. I hoped there was more context to this, because from the info in this, it just seems like it's weird for the same of being weird. Though it has managed to catch enough of an interest for me to actually find and read the real thing. That's a first for me.
Dave! You are quite possibly my favorite writer on the site; certainly one whom has yet to disappoint. When I saw this was one of yours, I became unreasonably giddy and though I'd read this masterpiece before, the re-read was just as satisfying. Ofc, I can never get enough of anything related to 2922. SCP-UBU Object Class: Tiamat Special Containment Procedures: SCP-UBU must be neutralized by any means necessary. Neutralization efforts are ongoing via Project Beluga. All non-critical resources have been diverted into Project Beluga as needed. Further information & strategic resources are restricted to Project Beluga staff. Description: SCP-UBU refers to a violent and extremely hostile humanoid entity that appeared in Kangaatsiaq, Greenland, on May 12th, 2588. The sudden materialization of SCP-UBU coincides with an ongoing ΩK/A-cass Augmented "End-of-Death" scenario1. This was believed to be a separate phenomenon until the stream of regenerative lambda waves was triangulated to SCP-UBU. This event also coincided with the following phenomena: A mass loss of function for all SCP-2578-D, SCP-3319, and other objects operated by the Three Moons Initiative. The cessation of all further SCP-2922 communications. The severance of the extradimensional space known as the Wanderer's Library from Earth. A representative of the Serpent's Hand cited "irreconcilable security concerns" in the decision. Several incidents in which a representative of Marshall, Carter, & Dark, having gained access to the O5 Council's personal contact information through unknown means, desperately tried to sell the Foundation large amounts of the company's stock. The place that must never have the same name twice SCP-40002 losing all anomalous properties. A small parchment note reading "Good luck!" was found in the entryway. SCP-3008 being anomalously bought out by an unknown proprietor and slowly converted into a shelter. In addition to anomalously high physical strength and speed, SCP-UBU has reality-bending capabilities to an unknown extent - usually triggered by screaming or slapping. Defensively, it has remained unscathed from the following damage sources: Blunt force trauma. Sustained heavy-caliber machine gun fire. Temperatures of 1,600 Kelvin. Sustained artillery fire. A direct energy discharge from SCP-B7B8. ██ simultaneous direct nuclear strikes.3 The only lasting damage to SCP-UBU occurred on 8/14/2784, when the entity chewed off its left thumb out of apparent curiosity. This resulted in SCP-UBU emitting a single scream that lasted seven days, after which it went into a month-long fit of crying and sobbing. The thumb completely regenerated after thirty years and fourteen days. Anatomy: The entity is 4.3 meters in height; an exact estimate of its mass remains unknown, but measurement attempts during its brief containment displayed a minimum recorded weight of 15,399 kilograms. Though its anatomical composition remains unknown, SCP-UBU's bodily shape is consistent with an obese, androgynous humanoid. It is covered in hairless, pure white skin that bears a similar texture to that of a dolphin or other small whale. Despite being devoid of eyes, ears, or nostrils, SCP-UBU is fully capable of vision, hearing, and smell. The only apparent sensory organ on its body other than skin is a .5-meter-wide humanoid mouth with a prehensile tongue of indeterminate length. There is a cloaca on its lower body for expelling waste. Behavior: SCP-UBU does not appear to understand speech in any known language. While it is capable of vocalizations, the majority of them are used for screaming, laughter, and intrigued babbling. Ever since its arrival, SCP-UBU has been devoted to causing as much destruction as possible. Though SCP-UBU will attack anything indiscriminately, SCP-UBU shows preference in assaulting and devouring human beings in densely populated areas. It takes an infantile and curious approach to violence, often "playing" with its victims for hours on end. The regenerative effect brought about by SCP-UBU's presence has eliminated the possibility of doing permanent damage to anything other than civil infrastructure and property. Ergo, whether there is any greater motive to its rampages other than sadism is unknown. SCP-UBU Timeline 5/12/2588, 0533 GMT: A four-kiloton explosion accompanied by an electromagnetic pulse destroys the town of Kangaatsiaq, Greenland. Survivors recall a "pale green light" enveloping the area. 0615 GMT: ΩK/A-class scenario begins, triggering widespread panic. 0846 GMT: O5 command holds an emergency meeting to address a potential ΩK-class scenario. 1105 GMT: First sightings of SCP-UBU reported. 5/15/2588, 1200 GMT: In order to properly address the regenerative effect, the Foundation's veil is lifted as per the Broken Masquerade protocol. O5-1 makes a statement to the UN. 5/20/2588: SCP-UBU arrives in St. John's, Newfoundland, beginning a two-year rampage throughout the city. 5/21/2588: Mobile Task Force Nu-7 "Hammer Down" engages SCP-UBU in St. John's. 7/4/2590: 90% of the onsite personnel have been mutilated and regenerated at least five times. As such, MTF Nu-7 deserts St. John en masse in protest of "anomalously poor working conditions". SCP-UBU uses the opportunity to break through the defensive line. 10/10/2590: Project Beluga is founded as a joint effort between the Foundation and the Global Occult Coalition for the purpose of neutralizing the threat posed by SCP-UBU. 12/29/2590: SCP-UBU reaches Columbus, Ohio. It spends the next year on the following project: Digging a two-kilometer-deep hole in the center of the city, Gathering 2.9 million people to throw into the hole, Repeatedly leaping into the upper stratosphere and stomping into the hole, and Drinking the resulting squeezed juices. It eventually grows bored with this and moves on to Lake Erie. 1/5/2592: SCP-UBU assaults several cargo ships in Lake Erie. Twenty ships are thrown out of Earth's gravitational pull. Two of them land on the Moon. [truncated for brevity] 6/10/2670, 0600 GMT: SCP-UBU is finally contained at Site-59. 6/10/2670, 0602 GMT: SCP-UBU breaches containment; subsequent retrieval attempts fail. 9/9/2673: SCP-UBU spends 73 days rubbing its crotch against the Statue of Liberty while howling. (It should be noted that SCP-UBU lacks any sort of visible genitalia.) 2/10/2674: The Schenectady Agreement is signed between NATO powers, the Russian Federation, the People's Republic of China, the Foundation, and the Global Occult Coalition. As such, due to environmental concerns, further nuclear strikes are prohibited against SCP-UBU. Shortly after signing, SCP-UBU breaks into the ceremony and makes a bead necklace out of a few lengths of woven rebar and fifteen still-living foreign dignitaries.

Really sticking to the source material. Not that the source material is that great. If it wanted to throw 3 million people into a hole, even if it did so at a rate of say one every 10 seconds , it would still take over 57 years to fill that hole. That's a long time for NOBODY to dig their way out. And apparently nobody ran off during that half century! The most bizzare bit is that HUNDREDS of years pass, and nobody evacuates Earth.

@@tsarbombawithinternetconne875 oh so you're saying it's just like how Saitama is intentionally made to be the parody character in the universe of One Punch-Man?
@@sir1603 Well, you could say that of Corbenic in general, which is where UBU comes from. Over there, everything is immortal and will regenerate from any wound. As a result, humans adapted their weapons around that, and creatures adapted the way they hunt and prey on others. So the Corbenese humans and many native species are all now extremely overpowered from Earth's perspective, but life's also super boring when it's just them; the monsters are easy to turn away, and war's not very interesting if you can't die and are used to the pain of regeneration. Consequently, most Corbenese SCPs are the government (made of three alternate Foundations glued together) trying to do the professional hero thing on Earth, except they come off as weird and excessive most of the time. SCP-001-DYF is what happens when Earthlings try to stand up to the Corbenese without having the slightest clue how things work down there.
*To be honest in my headcanon, there are probably reasons SCP UBU can take out and KO SCP 682 (without truly unaliving SCP 682):* • SCP UBU cannot kill SCP 682 in its True Form but SCP UBU can sever the link between the True Form of SCP 682 and all of its avatars. So SCP UBU severs every links to other realities and dimensions to prevent another avatar of 682 from manifesting which means SCP UBU can only cut SCP 682 from that reality and dimension only. • SCP UBU cannot truly kill SCP 682, but it can forcibly turn SCP 682's avatar into a literally harmless liquid form. SCP 682 can only watch as SCP UBU swims into its lquid form without suffering consequences.
The thing is he was there for fricking CENTURIES AND HADN’T EVEN KILLED EVERYONE. Also in one story they’re failing to contain something small and not dangerous then all of the sudden they’re dealing with every single world ending scenario ATTHE SAME TIME as if it’s a normal occurrence.

Their is one thing that was so confusing for one thousand years the SCP foundation one of the most advanced organizations did nothing like leaving earth to other planets or even safe dimensions. with all that power they could just take a large part of humanity to multiple worlds.
This SCP is truly unsettling to me: a power so immense that it can definitively take out SCP-682 with a single slap is above any possible description. Yet, it won't singlehandedly destroy earth as the Scarlet King, the Devourer of Worlds or the World Gone Beautiful would; it is more like a much more extensively potent, terrifying version of SCP-109, taking its time to torture everyone and everything forever while not even letting them die in the process. Fascinatingly horrifying. Yet, one little detail has me scratching my head: the story being set from 2600 onwards, how can the Devourer of Worlds still be around, trapped behind SCP-2317? Wasn't the Devourer supposed to end it all "in the next thirty years", presumably starting way earlier than 2600? Any possible answers to this? 👀
I never would have thought st John's newfoundland would have ever been mentioned in one of these videos. It's my hometown so it's cool to hear it said by one of my favourite creators even if it is just to tell a fun story

Either way, y'all are in for a wild ride. ;)
the conclusion was hilarious!(shakes your hand)
I really, really like this SCP-001! I love the reference to Ubu Roi, you're a well read person. It just works so well because UBU is vile and disgustingly, needlessly cruel at the heart of it and while other SCPs like 682, who has a disdain for life, or the Shy Guy, who simply does not want to be looked at, are terrifying, nothing compares to the fate of UBU humiliating and torturing mankind for eternity. To me this is what makes this so great and I haven't even got to the end part yet. Thank you so much for writing this!
Keep writing SCPs I enjoy them
Thank you for the stories, friend.
JALAKÅRA be praised!
The whole article is an amazing read. This is just the first part of the true story.
Where do you read the full article? I clicked on the link in description but it doesn't really seem like an article and doesn't tell me much.
@@-j1170 The article in the description is the second iteration of the proposal so it reads out of order. The other offset articles go into detail about how O5-11 descended into insanity trying to kill UBU in more of a tales format

Best video to watch while waiting in the ER. This particular SCP is very interesting so it was awesome to see a video about it

An “end of death scenario” sounds like a high quality problem
Reading all these comments about how this SCP is some over-powered self-insert.
My brother in Christ, its allergic to sticks.
Sticks ? ?? FUCKING STICKS !
@@spygo4513 Well, more specifically a makeshift wooden stake that has a certain thaumaturgical incantation written on it hundreds of times.
But, yeah. It's killed from being stabbed by a stick.
Wielded by Kermit the Frog.
having a weakness doesn't make it not overpowered, especially if it's a hard to know one. I could challenge you to a duel wearing juggernaut armor with a minigun while you only have normal clothes and a pistol, my weakness could also be a stick if you used it correctly, and I'd still be overpowered there
Yeah but people refuse to read. 🙄
Also it's still a brilliant article regardless (and in fact, especially due to) the abstract comedy and absurdities.
Basically the TLDR of this thing is that it woke up one day and chose violence
That SCP vs SCP-1915 in his "Absence" form.
that would be cool. logicly 1915 would win for as long as what it is fighting has form, it will fall to 1915. still it would be fun
4.3m tall but swallowed the devourer of worlds whole? How, the gate guardian was the size of a fly to it
The Devourer of Worlds can be seen in space.
For those who don't know, the Corncrake is most likely referring to SCP 2337, a bird that can speak human language, but in a voice so loud that it can damage and kill the listener. OUTDATED SEE COMMENTS.
nah, its a ship that contained some scps

SCP-UBU
Object Class: Tiamat
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-UBU must be neutralized by any means necessary.
This event also coincided with the following phenomena:
A mass loss of function for all SCP-2578-D, SCP-3319, and other objects operated by the Three Moons Initiative.
Defensively, it has remained unscathed from the following damage sources:
Blunt force trauma.
Sustained heavy-caliber machine gun fire.
Temperatures of 1,600 Kelvin.
Sustained artillery fire.
A direct energy discharge from SCP-B7B8.
██ simultaneous direct nuclear strikes.3
The only lasting damage to SCP-UBU occurred on 8/14/2784, when the entity chewed off its left thumb out of apparent curiosity.
SCP-UBU Timeline
5/12/2588, 0533 GMT: A four-kiloton explosion accompanied by an electromagnetic pulse destroys the town of Kangaatsiaq, Greenland.
It spends the next year on the following project:
Digging a two-kilometer-deep hole in the center of the city,
Gathering 2.9 million people to throw into the hole,
Repeatedly leaping into the upper stratosphere and stomping into the hole, and
Drinking the resulting squeezed juices.
It eventually grows bored with this and moves on to Lake Erie.
1/5/2592: SCP-UBU assaults several cargo ships in Lake Erie. Twenty ships are thrown out of Earth's gravitational pull. Two of them land on the Moon.
[truncated for brevity]
6/10/2670, 0600 GMT: SCP-UBU is finally contained at Site-59.
6/10/2670, 0602 GMT: SCP-UBU breaches containment; subsequent retrieval attempts fail.
9/9/2673: SCP-UBU spends 73 days rubbing its crotch against the Statue of Liberty while howling. (It should be noted that SCP-UBU lacks any sort of visible genitalia.)
2/10/2674: The Schenectady Agreement is signed between NATO powers, the Russian Federation, the People's Republic of China, the Foundation, and the Global Occult Coalition. As such, due to environmental concerns, further nuclear strikes are prohibited against SCP-UBU. Shortly after signing, SCP-UBU breaks into the ceremony and makes a bead necklace out of a few lengths of woven rebar and fifteen still-living foreign dignitaries.
If scp-ubu hurt itself when it simply bit it's finger. Then why did they not immediately think about Cain who reflects attacks back at the aggressor.
Considering it took something so deadly to a molecular level like Oh Death to kill 682 I guess it shouldn't be surprise UBU was kill 682 at a molecular level.

The man who created ubu must have had something againest 682
I've an idea for an interesting scenario: what if SCP-469 came into contact with SCP-343 or 001 (Uriel), or even 662?
Consider this entirely hypothetical, but, this to me sounds like a case of "mighty mouse" practiced on a spermatozoon through the Very Fine setting, to see if some Foundation scientist could get his fertility rate drastically improved? It may be an entirely overlooked solution, but did anybody try hitting it with an enhanced spermicide?
No freakin way the SCP Foundation let humanity stay on Earth
"It has no eyes", as they point to it's eyes. "It's never permanently harmed anyone", after they show it pulverizing 3 million people into sludge and drinking them. Quality work, boys.
More scp UBU please
UBU sees the world as some kind of sandbox, (imagine this as a VR game)

This is like the Saitama or Superman of SCP power fantasy. Why do new SCPs always have to one up the last one?
Because if you read the rest of the article, that's not the point. UBU is just a plot device for the actual meat of the article, which is a story about timeloop fatigue and becoming worse than your own enemies.
This SCP was purposely goofy since its essentially the plot device of the entire article, the entire thing was comic relief.
@@trocytev8783did it also beat up 682 like a punching bag?
*To be honest in my headcanon, there are probably reasons SCP UBU can take out and KO SCP 682 (without truly unaliving SCP 682):*
• SCP UBU cannot kill SCP 682 in its True Form but SCP UBU can sever the link between the True Form of SCP 682 and all of its avatars.
