I really appreciate your comments at 3:20 about saving cost, even though you're marketing these parts for sale. I think it helps to build credibility. Horizon Hobby needs more guys like you. You seem to be a regular "Joe", while some of the guys that work in the hobby industry get a certain chip on their shoulder, which really turns off newbies, especially. I appreciate you sharing your crash experience, as it is most definitely part of the hobby, and it's something to be embraced.

Yep, Jason is a nice guy. I met him in person years and years ago at SEFF, when he was working for Thunder Power. Those of us who started using lipos that early on received a ton of support from him.

This was a great video. Crashed my Aeroscout nose first. After I watched this video, I purchased some medium gap filling CA and aerosol Zip Kicker and went to work. Amazing how well this foam takes to CA and the strength of the bonded parts. The Nose wheel plate was tweeked but with some coaxing and Hot Glue, it went back into place with just a small amount of servo adjustment to true it back up. Took the Plane up and had no issues. Thanks Horizon for this great video. Also, as noted below, a video on fuselage replacement would be greatly appreciated.
don't twist it back and forth .. over and over.....you just break off small foam pieces !!!..I use 2 inch T-pins to hold in position before activator...always enjoy Jason's videos !!!
Hello there ,is this better than say a "Hot melt" instant repair .And big respect to put this online ,most people marketing products just say ,yeah it flys good and it can be repaired ,but you put one up ,which on of the "Experts" has crashed and actually show us how to get it back in the air ,so the moral of it is lads ,dont stress over a bit of minor repair ,the point is to get as much fun out of the airframe as you can ,as long as it is airworthy ,who cares about a few battle scars that you cant see in the air anyway
I crashed mine pretty bad and I ordered a new fuselage for Aeroscout S2, and I need help to take out my whole electric engine and receiver, and put it into my new fuselage that I ordered.
Hot glue could work, but there's enough variation in the glue itself, plus the temp it gets to based on the particular glue gun used, that we can't recommend it with 100% certainty.
Here is the ‘rub’ in Australia: Total cost of the items used A$136.94 So almost worth getting another plane & having the parts. Or the esky model. This is a great video showing us how to repair a model. How did you use a dry paper towel to wipe the CA off w/o having the paper towel stick to the glue. that is some slow drying CA. i admit its been a bit since i used Foam safe CA. I know my Thin CA drys almost soon as it touches whatever its gluing.. SO the Rods for the controls inside the fuse do not need to be worried getting any glue on them and stopping them from working? Ive never seen a plane with the controls on the inside like this plane is, its different. Most foam planes I will use Hot glue or Epoxy that was a huge break. Thanks for the video.
This model has a majlr design flaw. The nosewheel is quick to be damaged (even breaking off) and must be reinforced heavily to continue to operate. Heavy plastic undercarriage structural support, loads of hot glue, packing tape, plus gluing the nosewheel bottom support directly to the reinforced plastic undercarriage support. Also removed the wheel from the rudder connection. So we will see if this helps an otherwise great airplane
Update: I ended up throwing this in the garbage after stripping it for parts. With no flaps it takes too long to take off and land. Not going to waste my time on this loser any longer...
My aeroscout s2 I crashed and replaced the fuselage and now on safe mode the alerones wants to go right I tried using trim and it still goes right is there some way of recalibration or something please help
Can this plane be upgraded with a stronger motor and bigger prop ? I saw one at our club field today and the prop is really small but it looked like there was enough clearance for a larger one. It was very windy but a beginner pilot did very well with it.
oh they break hundreds of times ,and ive fix my umx ulitrix a bunch with hot glue but with hot glue ,,i like its none toxic and dont eat the foam but it will melt it if your not carfull,, and more glue is bad than less glue
just tried ordering one from their website... checkout not working. online chat yay!... ask for help... person says call customer support instead. what OTHER trainers are out there that you can actually buy?

Steaming compressed foam before glueing helps model return closer to original shape best.

I use wooden toothpicks and Foam-Tac glue always get a solid repair.

I have the aero scout. I’ve had a few hard landings. The black rectangular nose gear base is loose in the pocket. Can I just glue it back in?

Can you please tell me how to replace/take out the ESC and receiver on the aeroscout S 2 not the S?

You could be in safe mode. Check your controller

Please help. I just got a aeroscout s1 RTF and in beginner mode i have full rudder throw. in intermediate i have half rudder throw. Is this correct ?

Nope, no damage to the nose...which is a big benefit of the AeroScout's "pusher" configuration/design!

You need to throw all that CA away and use a decent glue that isn’t brittle and impossible to sand..
CA may not be best choice for every situation, but it works great in many cases...including as shown in this video!
I just use hot glue.
Hot glue can work in some cases, but we still recommend CA and/or epoxy when repairing most EPO foam models like this one.

Best way to repair? Just keep twisting the fuselage and breaking the foam until you're 2 billion percent sure where it's broken. 😑
