Leaving my thoughts: There is too much hype and optimism around Elon's brain chip concept, just like around every each of his projects. Mostly, it's not a science concepts at all, although, it's built on a scientific core, but besides that, it's just tales or myths, but most of all - a marketing tools. What Elon does best? - creating fantastically attractive marketing cover to futuristic ideas "floating" in old and modern sci-fy books and movies. Why we don't see real scientists around Musk? Don't get me wrong - he introduces HIS scientists - the ones that work for him, but he's NEVER talking about his projects around group of independent Nobel price winners or a professional engineers. Why is that? Is this "genius" afraid of smtng? Maybe, because they'll explain him what he already knows? For example, that we're not going to get to Mars anytime soon? Or maybe, because people will understand, that this kind brain tech is so limited by so many biological and physical boundaries that we are not going to have telepathy or VR in our heads? Tell me, if I'm wrong, where are those independent scientists that confirm that Elon's dreams are real? Elon is best in marketing, not science, and that's why he is not genius. He perfectly uses people's ignorance to inspire them to follow his visions, but the visions themself are ignorant enough for simpleminded people to follow.
