    I got my truck back and 2 days later i hooked onto my car trailer and drove about 275 miles to NHMS! Truck only had about 100 miles on it before the trip. Has about 45k on the transmission now and its still going good!

    A real decent scanner is needed for the relearn. Tech2win is real nice, but a Snapoff, maximus 2.0 most definitely, but realistically efi live from a person advertising on CL or market place. No two ways around it, a second party with electronics needs to be factored in. Good to know about the temp window.

    Rebuilt my Allison at ATS in Arvada and they never explained this to me when I picked up my truck, would I still be able to relearn it after using it for a month roughly 1000 miles? 3rd gear is still hitting hard

    Hmm I have a ATS Diesel E-power Tuner on my Duramax and it takes about ten seconds for it to relearn because it has all the gadgets and stuff you can change tire Calibration and it’ll show you how hot your engine and everything is it’s Amazing will out you In the seat for sure

    So here's a question for the pros!!!
    I'm racking my brain on what it could be but I haven't '04 LB7 with 240,000 on it.... It's at a laundry list of things done to it.
    New injectors, 64 stealth turbo, The transmission has been done, fast lift pump and a lot of other stuff, obviously it has been deleted and tuned.
    I have an edge programmer with EFI live.
    The truck runs phenomenal
    However I started up in the morning from a cold start let it sit 5 minutes and then take off It shifts phenomenal through all the gears The moment I hit 5th gear and then I'm coming to a complete stop ....it will give a hard down shift.... Sometimes its a pretty decent size jerk when stopping all the way and sometimes it's just a tick but it's driving me insane and after dumping so much money into this truck I have to get this fixed.
    Some people have said it's normal but when I bought this truck it did not do it. There's no way it's normal. Lol
    Hell I just had a $5,000 paint job on it and just want to make sure she lasts as long as possible I'm a single father and it's my daily driver can anybody help

    Just to be clear he said ," if 100' outside it's ok to be 220 on transmission temperature ".

    • @brendan747
      @brendan747 5 лет назад +1

      while it isn’t recommended for long term usage (trans fluid oxidizes with heat eating up clutches) it is okay. the rule of thumb is 100 deg F over ambient. obviously cooler is better. always go with the size bigger transmission cooler than you think you need. anything over ~125 deg F is within operating temperature spec.

    Call me crazy, but doesn’t the CTS2 monitors offer a trans relearn option? I know mine does but I’ve never tried it. Just curious if that would be adequate enough..

      yeah it works the same they just probably are so used to using their computer for it they didnt think about it but yeah its the same type of relearn just a tad more in depth with the laptop thats all :) so if you only have that to relearn the trans with your perfectly safe :)

    Brother, I was hoping you guys could help me please. Right now, I'm really low on funds. I did drop my transmission on my Allison 1000. I installed a new extension housing, transfer bracket, u- joints, transmission filter, screw on filter, stall converter and topped it off with 4 gallons of Dextron VI . I will let you know what I did. First, I let the vehicle idle for 30 mins, after that I put the vehicle in reverse and then put it in park, turned off my truck and no check engine light came on at all. I was extremely happy. Next I checked the transmission dipstick and it looked good, like I said earlier I had the truck idling for 30 mins and the temp on my truck gauge was 175 (the line is in the middle of the hot side). After I put it in drive my check engine code came on. I looked on my efi live scanner tool and the code read P0875m, which it translated to pressure switch sensor I'm guessing? When I tried to go forward it felt like it was in a higher gear, I looked on my scanner tool to see what gear it was on and it was in 4th. I did everything you and Ryan's diesel did on your video so I'm hoping all I need to do is get it relearned? When seeing this video after my little issue, i felt like that could be the culprit. I don't want to waste any more money because I lost my job right when my extension housing creaked and I invested all my savings just to do this job on my truck, if you guys could PLEASE help I have no one else to turn to. I don't want to take it to the dealership and them tell me a huge lie and I end up going deeper in the hole. Any help would be most appreciated! Thanks!

    Question if the relearn he is doing pretty much sets the tcm to all 0's and clears all tranny codes well if you put a new tcm wouldn't it be zeroed out and kinda do the same thing or would this be different
    And I have a question if anyone can answer it would be appreciated. I have a 06 lbz with300,000 miles. Had a clogged tranny line and it burnt the converter out and put metal shavings in the tranny I got a kit and new converter rebuilt it off one of truck master videos and a Allison rebuild manual old clutches had no wear they were the same as the new ones put it back in oh I added a trango Jr drive hits hard reverse it's hard where I was couldn't really get about third gear first few times out. Felt like it was skipping then 1st to 2nd hit good and smooth 3rd still acts like it slips abit but the the p0700 code comes on and shuts me down. Any ideas anyone

    I recently rebuilt my trans in my 06 LBZ and I wasn’t able to do a relearn with a snap-on Solus ultra. It would clunk and shake but wouldn’t complete the park relearn procedure. Drives decent shifts hard on two gears by everything else is butter. I swapped TCU/TCM’s with a good one and same issue. Could my EFI Live be stopping it from relearning or is it most likely bad wiring. From Iowa so could very well have corroded or worn wires.

    • @Shawn_Magara
      @Shawn_Magara 4 года назад

      Brandon Hintz doesn't EFI live have an internal relearn function?

    • @brandonhintz7852

    • @Shawn_Magara
      @Shawn_Magara 4 года назад

      Brandon Hintz the PPE Standard I have coming in the mail had the fast learn in it, seems using the factory scan tool may lead the same result, wouldn't make too much sense to get the learn done on the factory calibration though since the power level isn't the same, you try emailing EFI? They are a little more versed than you and I

    • @thomasmolitor960
      @thomasmolitor960 5 лет назад

      Depends on what you have. Do you have a deep pan, a full build, a shift kit ECT. They didnt mention in the video. But deep pans and built transmissions tend to run a little hotter that normal. Personally i have never seen mine go past 220 in stop and go traffic on a 90 degree day.

    • @brendan747
      @brendan747 5 лет назад

      Sergio Vazquez it is okay, but you’re going to want to monitor and change your transmission fluid more often as the more heat = oxidization and fluid break down.

    • @sergiovazquez9259
      @sergiovazquez9259 5 лет назад

      Cool thank you both. My trans is completely stock with original Allison standard pan... I’ll flush it and see if it helps run cooler. The truck is completely deleted so it makes decent power but ran hot even when it was stock.
