Ahwwww this was so sweet it had me shed a tear. So happy you and your father we're able to put the past in the past and move on and live the rest of your lives in love and harmony. God bless you all wish you both all the success in the world. I know it can be very hard working with family and when work problems turn over to family problems its very hard. Me and my husband own our own business aswell and beeing around eachother 24/7 is hard when you have conflict on jobs.
Greg it is really cool u and your dad have reconnected. It would seem that your relationship is even stronger. I’ll give u a little on me and my dad. Let me start bye saying I am daddy’s girl. I live with my dad who has early stages Alzheimer’s. He is my best friend and he teached me all about the out doors and how to respect Mother Nature. We still fish and work in the yard together. I love every moment I have with him. I must say watching him decline slow wrips my hart out. Of cores I don’t show it. Or I try not to. Any way I’m glad u and your dad r on good terms now. Ucant get back the time u lost. But u can take what u have now and cherish every day. Much love to u and your dad.
Charmaine Lawless thanks for your support and so glad you’re able to help your dad like you do. Sorry to hear about his health something like my older brother is going through with his Parkinsons. Stay strong!
You missed those lovely 9 years. But in the end a good message to the people to realize, after all they are parents, i lost my father when I was 6 and we know the difficulties we face without him. without them we are nothing 🙏 lots of love from India 🇮🇳
LOL a good friend of mine is a Snowbird and lives there durning our New York winters. He has seen those ponds and mention someone running into the stone with a golf card and flipping over! My friend says they loves this place, and bought another RV that they leave there full time.
What an amazing pond! ... I always say, it's not the size, it's what you do with it... meaning, you don't need a lot of land or space, it's how creatively you manage that space.
Jody Boatright thanks Judy. I love opening that door and watching my fish race to greet me. Of course it’s not ME they care about. They’re just always hungry. I also felt and it’s working, that they could hide from Herons under the bridge.
I have been watching your videos the last couple weeks now. Correction, I have been binge watching your Aquascape Life videos and this one was a big one!! I can appreciate you coming full circle with your dad as I have just lost my mother this year and dad 25 years ago! It means a lot to see this side of the Aquascape life.
Fantastic back story and brilliant where you both are now. Family is the only constant whether there in full force and affect or not, family is family! I love what you guys do and when I retire in Alabama, Texas, or Florida an aquascape is a must do!!!
Greg your dads pond looks amazing. As usual I love all the big and small range of fish. Thanks for taking time to compile it. God bless you, your family and staff.🙏
Those are some cool small ponds your dad has going down there in his neighborhood. I love the name of his business. The Pond Father!! Ha. It's great. Also awesome, that u were able to find your way back to each other Greg! A lot of people don't get that opportunity. U are both very lucky.
So glad to hear how you patched things up with your Dad! Is there anything better in life than having a good relationship with your family? Maybe a shared passion for building ponds comes a close second. :)
Mez Martinez it’s a whole new experience to transform your residence to be near the sounds of water, reflections, fish, exotic lilies etc. You’ll never regret it but follow the leads from Gregs videos to build it the right way
Thank you for referring me to this video. I did not think it would be possible to have a pond in Florida. Now I know it can be done. THANK YOU!!!! The two you show ar wonderful...
Wow. Omg how amazing special is that. Truly love. No matter what. Your a good Son. Love that. Actually that should be a feature on the retirement community brochure. Love it.
It’s just as neat inside too. We drop our blinds and enjoy the show, kind of like when you float on a pools surface and watch the sun rays dance on the pools floor.
Its only a 7 hour drive from me and stuff grows so amazingly lush in Florida. Doesn't do that here, not year around, well last winter nothing died but I wish we had that climate here. Beautiful yard.
GREG GREAT STORY WISH AND ADMIRED TO HAVE A POND OR EVEN A NICE WATER FEATURE LIKE UR DAD GLAD TO SEE YOUVE MENDED THINGS WITH YOUR DAD !! SINCERLY SHERRY AND LAUREN
Braddah G.... this was an awesome video!! On my channel I say Fish Keep Families together but in this case “Ponds Keep Families together” it kind of hits home for me as my father and I have have split and the sad thing is we live about 45min away we have differences but maybe one day things will work out thanks again for sharing a little personal story with us I’m so glad you and dad made up u can hear it and see how passionate he is with ponds and water features much love and aloha to you both 🤙🏽🐠🌺🐠🤙🏽
I live in a retirement community also but the folks here don't own their lot -- that means they don't want to invest in awesome stuff like one of a kind, custom creation ponds. I have a fountain on my deck, a giant lush garden all around and 8 fish tanks of various sizes and that seems to satisfy my need for water and fish -- for now. Oh to have an Aquascape Pond!
Outstanding use for a small space. I am starting a small pond for my backyard and already want to enlarge it. I didn’t realize you put in smaller, more affordable ponds. I also really like you water filters to keep the water pristine! I am definitely finding a Michigan Pond Guy to put one in for me next spring!!!
Thanks for giving us a insight of your personal Life....IT will help others who are going through similar situations with family members...Blood is thicker than Pond Water
Good eye! It’s a harmless water snake, who adeptly slides across the surface. Too small to bother my koi but likes the uninvited mosquito fish. Quite shy and does not live in the pond due to my dogs and busy location. They prefer more shelter.
You’re sure an Eagle Eye. It’s a harmless Banded Water Snake. Still small so it’s not bothering my koi but it does like the mosquito fish that found their way into my pond. It disappears real fast whenever you either my wife or I or my dogs come outside. There’s a wetland right behind my house and that’s where it heads.
My dad left us after he decided the cheat on my mom while she was pregnant with my sister. We have talked on and off for the last 10-12 years... He doesn't care if I succeed in life. He doesn't care if I'm happy. He just likes putting me down for what I haven't done in my life so far. All I ever wanted was a relationship with my dad, but with him, I don't think it'll ever be possible.. I love this story of you and your dad regaining that relationship. It's important. I love my dad, but my resentment towards him will always be there for leaving me, my mom and sister to struggle.. I would love to start building some ponds..
Rob92 never doubt the power of time, forgiveness and prayer. We were fortunate to have a lot of friends praying for us. Stay strong and good luck to you with your dad!
Greg big fan here. Love what you did to his front yard amazing finish.. I have a similar area that we are digging for our 14x10' pond.. but how do you deal with the roots from the Palm trees. Cutting them and keeping them from poking holes in liner? .I am going crazy.. Digging by hand.. anyway any help would be great..
Gary Sr. , do you have times of the year for local pond shows to be able to see different ponds, not interested in rock gardens. 5,000 gal. Koi pond with raised sides .
Greg Sr. Love your pond but what do you do to keep the heavy rains & runoff out & away from getting into your pond? ?The sides of your pond are flush with ground level. With all the nice lights how do you keep the Buford frogs out .?
Love your dad's pond especially the way the plants soften the edges. I am trying to create something similar in the UK but am having issues with diatom. The Uv filter is keeping the green algae away and the iongen is leeping the string algae away i cant find anything for diatoms (brown algae), it is all over the rocks and stones inside the pond. I have plenty of filteration and plants inside the pond, and all the water parameters are great. Any advice?
I think that snake at 6:21 was symbolic to the serpent trying to destroy the relationship between a father & son, but then wasn't even noticed by Greg. Great story.
Greg it’s so good to hear your story of how you have repaired your relationship with your dad. Family is so important.

Crystal Hurb Thanks Crystal. And I’m so lucky to be able to watch my grand kids grow up.
Great Vlog Greg! Your dads pond is so beautiful, but the best part of the video was you being willing to share your story. Blessings
I enjoyed the back story also.
I loved how you ended this video - so perfect, so hard won, so appropriate, so real. Thank you.

Senegal01 yes! Someone was rubbernecking the day after we built it and drove off the road, onto the lawn and hit the pallet of left over rocks 😳
You made me cry for the first time Greg.... right there at the end. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Beautiful features. More importantly, beautiful relationship.
Sean Odonnell Amen. Thanks Sean.
Your retired dads pond is gorgeous and this is so heartwarming to watch. Thanks for your videos
What an amazing pond! ... I always say, it's not the size, it's what you do with it... meaning, you don't need a lot of land or space, it's how creatively you manage that space.
Frossiart wow. You are so right. I wanted it even bigger to handle the spread of tropical lilies but there was no more grass to eliminate.
Right on!
@@pondfatherwaterfeatures1043 , I'm sure you will still find a way to expand PondFather!
I Love your Dad's Pond, the best part is walking out the door and the Pond runs under the bridge, Amazing!!
Jody Boatright thanks Judy. I love opening that door and watching my fish race to greet me. Of course it’s not ME they care about. They’re just always hungry. I also felt and it’s working, that they could hide from Herons under the bridge.

I saw a snake in the pond at 6:21. You could see how the snake swims on the surface of the water.

haha i saw it too, had to look if i was the only one noticing it. i was surprised greg didn't notice it.
I saw that, good eye for detail.
He was going after the aroma of that beer.
I noticed that too.
Liked the story as well as the water features, thank God for love of family. Blessings be yours.

Your dad seems like a very nice guy. Got to tell you better get that dad time while you can my father is gone now. By the way awesome ponds as usual..
Not that nice if he can stop talking to his son for 9 years, wtf? A parent always has to be the bigger person.

Hahahahahahaha the pond father that's great..love the pretty pond too
At 6:19 in the video you can see a snake in the pond. Tell your pops to be careful.
And if you watch it looked liked it caught a fish or something at the end, I got rid of my pond because of snakes I couldn’t overcome my fear
