Forester owner for 1.5 years now..great car..underrated in South Africa.. Do open road driving alot..fuel average is 7.6l/100km. Which is excellent for size of vehicle. Ps.. also had a rattle in door with sound system. It was the black plastic by the door handle that shakes. Just took it to dealer and they put a putty to stop rattle.
Love this review! I've owned the 2.5 Forester for 1.5 years and can say its the best of the bunch. In the age of turbo engines in SUVs do you think the 2.4 engine in the Outback would outperform the 2.5 litre in terms of reliability over time. New to your channel and love it.
Lekker review. Every time when I am car shopping I keep on forgetting that Subaru exists. Things that I keep on wondering about Subaru and all "smaller" brands in South Africa - Is the insurance cost more? - How is the maintenance costs - Does it hold some of its value
thank you. I compared so many cars, insurance is low and the car has a 3 year service plan, no charges for 3 years. Most cars have maintenance plan which means you still pay. For example, cost of first service for a Honda CRV is about R6500... The Subaru is a gem.
Subaru forester owner here and can say insurance is LOW in its class. The service thing is true and extension of plan is relatively cheap. In the value... not sure yet as first time owner, but planning to keep her as long as possible
