Great video. Do you know if there a difference between distilled water and purified water? We sell both at the home improvement store I work at. The purified water is a little cheaper, so if it could be used then I could save a little money (a couple cents per gallon) that way. We also sell out of the distilled water more often than the purified water. Thank you!
hey buddy . yes there is a difference . purified water as far as i know is just free of any organisms that is found in water . and distilled is totally free of any minerals. i could be wrong but thats what i was told. there is anther way you can get water and its free. i collect rain water , you could even use snow. however you need to make sure it hasnt come off a roof or trees etc . i put tubs out in the open and collect water that has only fallen from the sky. some may say its not totally pure but ive never had any problems using rain water
good idea . i even use rain water when i can . it saves money because i go through a lot of water . but if youre going to use rain water or snow , make sure it didnt come off a roof or trees etc . i put tubs out in the open to only catch whats falling from the sky
I'm on your side about this. However, there will probably be someone saying you still had a tiny residual trace of Nitric that reacted with the hydrochloric locked up inside the filter paper that was brought out with the heat
I have a question i got several filter papers with gold foils nitric acid and copper sludge dried out i then used a pump sprayer container that had rainwater from my water tank . So i sprayed the foils and nitric/copper sludge ? into a beaker then fill beaker with hydrochloric acid and put on heat the gold foils dissolved in solution i then filtered the solution out into a clean i then did a stannus chloride test for gold and came up positive can i drop the gold with sodium metabisulfite ? Iam only learning the process of gold recovery thanx
hi , yes you did the right things mostly and yes you can now drop the gold. however id suggest you dont use rain water from a rain tank because its come from the roof and it could have picked up minerals or traces of tin. when i use rain water , i put tubs out in the open and catch water that has fallen from the sky straight into the tubs
@@prospectorpete hi pete i added several teaspoon of metabisulfite to the solution lastnight and thismorning and it had about a inch deep of clear liquid on top and brown with greenie tinge i then checked under the jar and there was a dark brown layer at the bbottom of jar is that the gold ? Or the excess metabisulfite? Do i need to add more metabisulfite to the solution ?

Thanks for the information! I will try tubs for rain water, we don't get much snow where I'm at in Kansas. Have a great day!

thats why i put copper in there to show there was no nitric . if there was even the tiniest amount , it would react with the copper
❤❤❤

@@charlesschulz8416 no thats the gold powder. Good job.
Now you need to do a stannous chloride test to make sure there's no gold still in solution
