This might be the best Jobava opening video out there! I might just slow the video down and do the moves over the board to help me remember them. Nice work - quick, thorough, and to the point with clarity.
23:10: after Nh5, I usually like to Qxd5. The queen cannot take back because you fork it with Nxc7and then protect back the bishop when you take the queen with the knight. So you gain 1 pawn and get the king to move.
i love the jobova as opposed to the colle system. both are similar but i want to learn as much as possible on the jobova . So many tactics and possibilities. Only problem i have is that i play stockfish @ 1700 elo . im not rated but 33 % of the time I can win if i don't blunder 😎 . hope i see more of your tutorials.
I played ghe Jobava a lot but its too crazy meaning its too aggressive for beginners. I would only recommend this for more than 1000 elo or for longer time frames. I very often lose because I cant keep the attack going and therefore weaken my whole position. An attack without damage will only damage yourself. What opening is recommended for a more solid gameplay without early attacks, queensside castleling and tactics etc.? Just like the caro kann for black, which is a lot easier to play.
I completely agree, you need to be very good at tactics and attacking if you want to make Jobava work. You can play this as a lower rated player if you have the right mindset to improve your attacking skills and don't mind losing the first couple games. For white I would recommend Queen's Gambit / Pegasus System if you want something solid. Botvinnik System is also nice but can get crazy.
That's a great question! In variations where ...Bb4 is possible, it's generally not a favorable choice for Black. While pinning the knight might seem tempting, the knight often lacks purpose in these positions, and the pin can’t be effectively exploited to gain an advantage. White can continue with their usual plans, and throughout the game, the black bishop will likely remain ineffective.
@@Pegasus-Chess Since we O-O-O in the pawn storm and O-O when their light bishop is blocked in, our knight helps protect the king in the pawn storm. So pinning isn’t a big deal O-O, but king safety is a problem when O-O-O, which is what I’m worried about.

That's already quite good; Stockfish at 1700 is no pushover. Thanks for leaving a comment!
Bring on the spice!
Nice one

@@Pegasus-Chess thank you, I will check out your channel, I just found it!
Nice video, but let's be respectful and give credit to Alex B and somewhat hans and ginger gm who first taught these lines
And Richard Rapport and Jobava, who invented the opening, of course!
What about black pinning the c3 knight, and trading and bringing the queen in? (Both in pawn storm and non-storm variations)
