''being so closed to the Arctic, it has cold long winters'' LOL we aint that close to the Arctic wtf?? Lots of European cities are actually much higher in latidude than Quebec City. The climate is colder just because it of a combination of winds, marine currents as well as the continental effect.

It is a wonderful city with much history, elegance and great cuisine. It helps to speak some French, as English not as widely spoken as in Montreal. The Montmorency Falls and the fjord to the north are worth taking in. In winter, the Winter Carnival with its Ice Bar and Ice Hotel are worth taking in, too. Many Americans do not travel this far Northeast, but it is a great slice of Europe sans the flight. Try to stY in a French inn or boutique hotel, and try to have a meal, drink or high tea at Chateau Frontenac. Just gazing at Rivier St Laurent on a lazy afternoon is magnificent as well. This is Montreal's smaller sibling from same French and American Parents. very scenic city with so much to see. French architecture reins supreme in this un-assuming city.

American parents? As a Canadian this is offensive. Canada is not founded by America. It is founded by the British and the French.

It looks like a very peaceful place to live, but I'm sure winter and the areas they avoided also play a role in that image. Expedia even made St. Louis look nice.

Québec city is actually a very beautiful city and if you like outdoor activities (hiking, kayak, mountain bike, road bike, etc.) there are stunning places all around the city. At about an hour from the city, you also have Charlevoix which is also very beautiful, and the city isn't too far from the Fjord du Saguenay which is another wonderful place

looks very much like Europe. hardly anything like it's surrounding cities and neighbour America.

Yes because it was built by Europeans (French) 400 years ago.

But people are gentle (unlike european) and there’s a Native American presence
The place is more forested than in europe too...
