Hello Merlin. I think Ireland needs something new. their way of playing has been the majority of the time after the world cup been ineffective and teams are reading them easily. I thought they were rusty after New Zealand, but against Argentina and now Australia it seems they need something new.
@@TheBuildKingR I definitely agree with that. Teams have worked them out and they need a breath of fresh air in their attack. Maybe Farrell going on sabbatical will offer that?
Not a great showing from Ireland over the Autumn tbh. Just a general dip in form combined with really missing Furlong and Sheehan. I suppose a post Sexton dip was unenviable and new players are still finding their feet. I also wonder if Farrell going to coach the Lions is giving the team a bit of anxiety. I'm a Leinster fan but agree with you about Crowley being the better option at fly half. Prendergast has talent but needs much more exposure at top level.
I agree. Underwhelming to say the least even though they won 3 out of 4. They were scrappy, made lots of mistakes and their lineouts were well below par. The 6N should be interesting and although I think Ireland will be in the mix I don't think they'll win it. France is my bet on that. I'd like to see Easterby experimenting more with the newer players and see how they go. There is plenty of talent coming through the ranks. They just need the game time in test matches. Building for 2027 has to be the priority now. Great to see Australia back in form again though. Schmidt has done a sterling job there and I can see them getting better. The Lions series should be very competitive now instead of the damp squib we all thought it might be.
@vladtheinhaler6579 I agree with most of what you wrote. However, I'd definitely have Ireland as the favourites for the title. England and France have to visit us and France have to go to England as well. Might come down to point difference or bonus points. The trip to Edinburgh might be tricky.
@@neilmontgomery3470 I agree that having England and France at home generally works in our favour in the 6N. They'll be very close games though and if Ireland win both they certainly have a very good chance of retaining the title. And I also agree that Scotland in Murrayfield is where we could trip up. If there's one game Gregor Townsend will have his eye on it's that one. If Scotland win that game it will be the breakthrough they have been waiting for in many years as in beating one of the "big teams" and it will certainly help their cause in getting a good chunk of their players into the Lions squad. I reckon Italy could throw a spanner or two into the works also. As for Wales, maybe Gats should get on to his fellow kiwi Joe and get some ideas on how to turn Welsh fortunes around. They certainly could do with some kind of miracle right now. Yes points difference or bonus points will probably decide the outcome. Looking forward to it.
