San’s vocabulary and pronunciation is so good! And Hongjoong’s English skills are really good because he’s able to convey his humor! That’s really difficult in a language that you’re not fluent in

Thanks to Josh and Olly I have now discovered ATEEZ. My god, the song Halazia is EPIC!! I can't stop listening to it... just such pure emotion coming from their performance, not only in the singing, but also face expressions from the acting too. And the visuals from their MV is out of this world!
Halazia is a masterpiece ❤ I've watched it live, when they opened their concert with it. Ateez are PERFORMANCE KINGS. I had the best time at the concert.

To the English-learning Koreans, much props to you! English is an infuriating language to learn and you have all my respect 😆

they also do that in Korea and many other countries.... ive seen hella groups act surprised when interviewers in their own home county know about them.

I was almost upset that they didn't speak in Korean so they could say all they wanted to, but Hong Joong's explanation at the end made me happy and proud. The interview is funny and shows how far their English knowledge has come. I would love, love, love to see the entire group accompany Josh and Ollie to a Korean restaurant in return on Korean Englishman. I think it would be really amazing to see the group together and their dynamic with Josh and Ollie in their native tongue, too. Thank you so much, Jolly, for having them, for treating them well, and for showing others why they're so loved.

Check out their performances as well! Hongjoong and San is actually part of the "demon line" in the group, which contains members who are known for their intense performances and facial expressions onstage. One of ATEEZ's best performances to date is "Symphony no.9 From the Wonderland".

I’m always randomly surprised at their English, like I knew hongjoong was good but wow he did sooo well! And bro sometimes San doesn’t have anything to say but then he pulls out the most fluent English accent and sentences like “it’s so smooth” BRO?? Who even knows the word smooth when they’re not fluent I’m so impressed
Their English has gotten so good, I’m proud of them. Also San having a moment with the shrimp nuggets at 4:00 is everything lol.

I never realised how good Hongjoong's command in english have become. You could tell that he understood some jokes cracked by Josh and Ollie whereas San had trouble processing it. And the last bit where he explained how happy he was to be on their channel really just cemented his growth. This makes me so proud as an atiny who has stuck by them since 2020 :') San has also improved so much! To be able to understand the conversation and reply back with an appropriate use of the language already shows his huge growth (during wave era if I'm correct, he was replying to english speaking interviewers with onomatopoeias to emphasise his feelings. Now he's able to communicate them well just by explaining it). I'm so proud of where they have come and can't wait to see their improvement in the future!

@@wildnyoungI thought his pronunciation was pretty good. I only noticed him mispronounce ‘touched,’ which is pretty understandable, as English pronunciation is super inconsistent. For example, people pronounce the -ed at the end of ‘blessed’, some people don’t. There’s tons of words like that. Very confusing for a new language learner!
So proud of ATEEZ to experience food from a different culture & using their English skills publicly & very well, without a script to follow. Also, just dining at a restaurant without being mobbed by fans or outside media hopefully makes them comfortable. Love to all 4 young men in the video.

I started liking Ateez after watching kingdom a few months back just to see Stray Kids. I discovered Ateez and I’m hooked. They sound Amazing with wonderful dance moves and are so handsome
I love Oli, he is always so well-informed on the groups he is interviewing, unlike so many interviewers, and the level of respect that shows is so cool.

as shown in the video, the members san and hongjoong! they’re 2/8 members in the kpop group ateez! the group debuted on October 24, 2018 with “pirate king”; their discography is really addicting and all of the members are super funny, sweet, polite and very humble to fans (also known as atiny) and people around them to! they’re just really lovable guys!! also back in December, they released “HALAZIA” so please check them out!!! I promise you they are fantastic!

San’s english had me on the floor he speaks so well and so clearly, I’m proud of them both for trying to speak in just English they did so well. I applaud them for having the courage and confidence to speak in English the whole time🧎♀️.
I respect that the dark haired guest kept true to his traditions and didn't let himself or his friend be seen speaking with food in their mouths. I'm guessing he's the "front man" for their group since they called him "the mountain" and he made a point to stay strong. That's a lot of responsibility and I respect him for keeping up with it.

He said his dad named him San (mountain in Korean) bc "he wanted him to be a comforting hill for some people and for others, an enormous mountain that they can’t dare to challenge. A truly grand mountain."
There is no actual front man for the grp so to speak bc every member has his role and gets center position at different parts of a song/performance. But San is indeed one of the more easily recognised member bc he is an outstanding performer. The other guest is the actual leader of the 8-member group and is referred to as Captain. You can hear Josh calling him Captain Hongjoong when he invited him to try the ginger beer. Hongjoong is the main rapper and spokesperson for the grp.

I would also like to say that I'm more well versed in American heavy metal bands so I'm not used to how other countries do their bands. I do still appreciate the effort and everything else put in to creating music of any genre. It's never an easy path, but those who follow it and are dedicated to it deserve respect.

I must say that when you mentioned "frontman", rock band immediately comes to mind bc I grew up listening to a lot of bands, in the 90s and early 2000s. There are some Ateez tracks that are electric guitar and drums heavy. In fact, the song that introduced me to Ateez was a cover of a 90s Korean duo. You can search for Ateez Black Cat Nero mv. Another one I'd love to recommend is Guerrilla. When I first listened to it, it for some reason made me feel nostalgic and reminded me of Blur's Song 2 and I re-visited tt video after like 20 years.
@@mikemiller7917 Also, as someone who appreciate rock god vocals, I absolutely love Ateez's main vocalist, Jongho's, vocal range. Boy would make an excellent frontman, but emotional, sappy ballads are his personal preference (it's ok Jongho I will still support you!)
Also, the other rapper, Mingi, has that dirty, deep, grungey vocals that I love too.

They are so respectful.
The politness of these two young KPop stars is heartwarming. I've always covered my mouth when talking to someone while I still have food in my mouth. It's respectful toward the person or people around you who DO NOT WANT to see the chewed up food in your mouth OR... the possiblity while your talking you spit food toward them without meaning too (may sound funny... but it's outright rude). It shows the upbringing around the family table was respectful.
It's a big rule in South Korea to cover your mouth, but yeah Hongjoong and San are super polite in general!
I don't know about in England, but I can tell you some American teenagers and young adults could learn manners from these two young men. Sometimes I think respect and common courtesy has been lost in quite a few of the younger generations here.
I know San's English is good but I didn't expect it to be this good. So proud of San and Hongjoong. Glad they had a lot fun eating fish n chips with Josh and Ollie!

Smiling at their politeness and them trying to stay respectfull while faced with the best and the worst of it. Laughing bc Ollie and Josh both made faces I've never seen them do before! And we follow them since about the time Ollie discovered his love for womens pants bougt at a korean market 🤩😄
I'm older than you, with more children and I'm a proud Atiny. These young men have amazing talent and work ethics, and comedic timing and just really really easy to love. Ateez is great! They're my first and ult kpop group when i'd avoided kpop for so long. A lot of fans are in their 20s, 30s+ actually; i'm 31 and have so many atiny friends my age and older. Their music slaps, and they really go out of their way to include diverse ages, genders, and nationalities of all of their fans. I got interested because of their humor and then hooked on their music but i stayed because i've genuinely never seen such kinder, sweeter boys. I feel like i gained 8 adorable little brothers who i'm so proud of.

I am SO SO SO unbelievably proud of my boys.... and San constantly blows me away with his pronunciation. Every single day he gets better and better, I can tell hes enjoying speaking english too and getting to show off his skills in these new interviews. Ateez have no foreign members to practice with or anything, and they have done so much work to learn english...every single one of them. I really respect that. Especially with how busy and crazy things have been for them the last few years. I will never stop hyping up Ateez. They really deserve it.
He's really improving so much. The members said rather than going out and enjoying the view while on their world tour San likes to be in his room studying English and Japanese. Recently he said he practiced to memorized 100 words per day 🥺❤️

Lovely compliment, albeit massively creepy: but I see loads of people who live on the other side of the world from them writing the same things as you. I can't judge, I went outside Ozzy's house in England in the early noughties and put my osbournes dvd under the gate and rang the intercom telling them I have left fan mail. I got my DVD back, unsigned, via post but received a signature print! As long as you have a life outside of these guys that's all that matters. I feel sorry for them in a way as they're using lots of makeup to match present themselves as pale/white; of course this is to appeal to their fans. Either way, very tslented and handsome men.

Hongjoong and San are actually the two members most fluent in English. All the members speak really good English but I’d say Hongjoong and San are the most comfortable speaking it

As an Atiny, all of these comments saying such nice things about our boys makes me have faith in humanity. My face literally hurts from how much I smiled watching this multiple times in a row and reading through all the comments.

Note that Ateez tried Belgian fries like 2 days before filming this and they have excellent fish in Korea, which must have added to the experience.
Facts, british is the worst food
Good fish and chips (and this did look good) is a great contribution to world cuisine. Yes, it's simple, yes, it's fast food. But done well, it holds up with any other fast food in the world. Fresh white flaky fish, a crisp not greasy batter, which has preserved the moisture in the fish, and crisp chips with a fluffy inside are a great thing.
Personally, I can do without the pickled stuff (we don't have those in our version) but chips (fries, pomme frite, etc) are as good a way to have potatoes as you'll find.

They must have been paid by Golden Union, cause that place is pure crap. A good chippy, looks like crap on the outside, is on a street with a few other shops next to it (co op, newsagents with with a post office inside, Chinese, Sue Ryder, Maybe a pharmacist) small flats above, and a little bit of parking. Usually off the main road by a fair few turns, residential houses all around
This trash heap live right next to an great fish market, but they sell battered, frozen, crap. And even then it ain't an excuse
