I have to say, I enjoy watching you Lilly and your relationships! It's so nice to see bloggers who aren't so obsessed w covering themselves in labels. Breathe of fresh air!
Yes I appreciate Lilly and Anna so much for that over time! And they are not in the shops every 5 minutes like the rest of the bloggers who promote irresponsible attitudes in managing finances. Love my Lilly xx
To help everyone who is confused about the bridge: Here are the details: The 25 de Abril Bridge (Ponte 25 de Abril, 25th of April Bridge, is a suspension bridge connecting the city of Lisbon, capital of Portugal, to the municipality of Almada on the left (south) bank of the Tagus river. It was inaugurated on August 6, 1966, and a train platform was added in 1999. It is often compared to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, US, because they are both suspension bridges of similar color. It was built by the American Bridge Company which constructed the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, but NOT the Golden Gate. Until 1974, the bridge was named Salazar Bridge. The name "25 de Abril" commemorates the Carnation Revolution. The Golden Gate Bridge opened in 1937... Over 30 years Earlier. Both are beautiful suspension bridges and the cities are a little similar!!
You gave me vlogging tips and now you're the first makeup/stylist channel I'm subscribed to and I have to say, coming from a 24 year old male the insight to this world intrigues me! I never would have thought in a million years I'd be watching makeup videos but you're vlogs are cool :) Keep up the awesome work!
Not sure if anyone has said this beforehand but our bridge, 25 de abril (in memory of the carnation revolution as someone commented bellow) was actually the inspiration to build the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. Ours was built in the late XIX century, golden gate is from the 1930's I believe. I used to intern as a journalist and interviewed a girl who went to San Francisco and she told me that the city itself reminded her a lot of Lisbon. Not sure if that's true though. Never been there myself. Hope you enjoyed our small and lovely country! Be sure to visit again! (I'm sure Carrie told you all the amazing things you still need to see)
Ana Gordo wrong...! Lisbon Bridge was built in the sixties with an American Bridge Company project, commited by Salazar government. The Golden Gate is a 30's build. Both are suspension bridges.
I never comment on youtube videos but hearing you talk about the positive characteristics of each of the girls.. so so genuine and kind! one of my fave youtubers x
Glad you loved Lisbon. You only got to see a small part of what Portugal can offer. I think you would love Cascais, Porto and Aveiro just for the buildings and beautiful spots. Lisbon did you well, you looked very happy 😄 apart from the hayfever which I get everytime I go back to Portugal, well for the first few days x
Nothing like hearing a woman talk positively about her friends!! I don't have a lot of girlfriends but this makes me want to find girls i can get along with and share things like you do, loved this vlog xx :)
btw i'm mexican and it was funny when you said they didn't give you a fork to eat your tacos, we never use a fork haha, we just fold the tortilla (and use lots of napkins)
the bridge is called 25 de Abril in honour of the revolution that happen in this day! It looks a lot as the san francisco bridge because it was actually the same architect that create it
I got engaged in Lisbon so love that city for loads of different reasons. Watching this has made me want to go back again. That Time Out market was so good.
I am so happy you loved Lisbon, I am a Brit living in the Algarve and love visiting Lisbon. I went there last weekend with a friend and just had the best, most chilled out time. x
Hi Lily! Fun fact, today I was talking with some friends about what Lisbon has that makes it so different and so special... I know every city has its own thing, its smells, its music, its traditions, its foods... And Lisboa is no exception. Of course she (it's female btw!) has some faults (terrible ones unfortunately), as the whole world has, but we see more and more "touristic prizes" (i.e. one of the best cities to live, 3rd safest country/city worldwide!), and it's filled with tourists all the year round. I'm always a bit cautious with people's opinions on things they know nothing about, but, surprisingly you were (ARE!) the best! Very sweet and thoughtful, and specially not criticising those new experiences, even if they don't aline with your personal taste. It is a sign of maximum intelligence, politeness and maturity. And we appreciate that very much. Once again, you rule! You have become one of my favorite youtubers Lily. All the best for you and Rich
The bridge is called "25 de Abril", it was not the original name, but it was changed after the 25 april of 1974 revolution, also refered as the Carnation Revolution, which overthrew the authoritarian regime instaled by Oliveira Salazar.
I'm from Lisbon (living in Australia for a year) and I'm crying here missing my hometown so much. I'm going in September for a couple of weeks with my boyfriend, he's Hawaiian. Can't wait to revisit everything and see my family and friends 💕
I don't know what it is... but lately you've been looking so lovely, so happy and glowing! I also feel like your style has become a bit more feminine (maybe just because its summer), but either way it really suits you! And you also seem super happy! XX
Also, forgot to say, I'm glad you had such a great trip with a great group. I can imagine with the industry you're in, you never know who you are going be on work trips with and that must be a slightly uneasy feeling! XX
I love your vlogs. You were so kind to talk about the other girls. You seem like the type of girl it would be nice to call a friend. Lisbon does look beautiful 🌸
Your makeup and outfit was flawless when you went out foe the Mexican. Throughout the video you looked radiant actually. Hope you enjoyed the rest of your trip! 😘
I did that exact cycling tour when I was in Lisbon! I think I even recognized my tour guide in the background :) I also loved Lisbon, such a nice city.
Lily this sounds so random but I noticed you're not wearing a bra with straps - could you recommend a decent strapless one as I really struggle to find a good one! Thank u I would appreciate this so much! X
Lisbon looked beautiful , I loved your last outfit I don't have social media anymore but because of you I started following Amy's blog really love her style.
Hi, Lilly! The bridge was designed by the same person, that's why they are so similar! Happy you enjoyed Lisbon. I'm a fan from Brazil and the countries are related. :)
I was in Lisbon in October and instantly fell in love with the city!!! It's so great to actually recognize some places you went to :) Also, you're a really kind person and when you talked about the other girls I thought it was so sweet of you :)
your minimal/no make up face is stunning! right when you said that you looked tired I thought that you look incredible! love your vlogs, they're my favourite to watch :)
Lily, before hand, I don't mean to be negative about your content! I know you can handle some feedback, so here's my opinion: I always like your vlogs. And how you often make the effort to make beautiful time lapses and shots of your surroundings. I, personally missed those a bit in this vlog, it felt more like were talking about what you were going to do en the next clip was you talking about it being done. (Maybe the fact that I have just been to lissabon in April made that I wanted to have all the memories come back by seeing familiar things which it felt like were missing) But I also really like the more talky vlogs ;) So just to what ever you want with this comment. Just wanted to share this because I know your are constantly trying to evolve and try new things (which I reallyyyy love about you and your content!!!) and maybe this could help you a little bit.
Hey Lily, the decorations are in celebration of 3 different saints! It's a big deal the city is all party mode for a hole week! I'm American but I live in Lisbon and it's amazing! Love your videos by the way 💗🎉
I would recommend Mercato Metropolitano in London for similar vibes to the TimeOut market, although on a slightly smaller scale. It has a good outdoor area too for the rare occasion when the suns out!
Absolutely LOVED this vlog Lily!! You seem to have had the best time, you looked very happy and positive (although I've never thought you're a negative person haha)! What some sunshine can do hey! Great video xxx
I'm so glad that you have fallen in love with Lisbon. If you ever decide to visit Portugal again you should really go to Porto or Aveiro (they're absolutely beautiful and picture worthy). Btw how is that you couldn't eat a complete pastéis de nata ?! I usually eat more that 2 at the time 😂. Non the less I absolutely love the vlog ❤️
i love your videos so much Lily, you do such a great job and i really could feel your love and positivity for your industry in this one :) They get better each time, already looking forward to the next :)
I love your Vlog! I've been to Lisbon last year and I did exactly the same things.. going to the market, having a smoothie there and buying sardines.. It was fun to watch you do the same things. :)
OH, your vlog made me miss Portugal so much. I had been there for 4 months, and mainly stayed in Coimbra for study. I think you need to go there, it is a university city, and you gonna love it. ❤️❤️❤️
So lovely to see you sharing the positivity! And, we absolutely loved Lisbon too, so I'm so happy to see you fell for it too :) Now I need to go back and try that Mexican place!
My ankles couldn't handle those sidewalks so it's not my fav city. See 2:54 for what I am talking about. That road looked pretty flat but where my ship docked they were really uneven. I would love that dresser in the bedroom of the pool room. It would be great for my beauty supplies.
I absolutely love the egg tarts, sorry, missed the real name, but it's what they are called in Macao. I went there for a couple of days and couldn't stop eating them.. in China they are also popular, but not as good as in Macao
Would love to hear about all the places you went to in a blog post or something as it looks AMAZING and i'm going in a few weeks! Especially that gin bar!
I loooove your vlogs Lily!! If you come back to France, Sephora step up its game these last months and we now have a lot of the famous us brands as Anastacia beverly hills, Becca, Ouai, Huda beauty, and also a few korean brands :)
Hiiiiiiiiii!!!! Told ya! Lisbon is sooooo nice! I know the pebbles (😂😂😂😂😂) in the street are a bitch to walk on! Wear sneakers darlink! I do hope you did put on sun cream, because that sun looked brutal. Só funny with the food scene! I also lóve food markets. Came back from Berlin yesterday. Súch a chilled city to visit!
Thanks so much for sharing this video! I am so excited for Lisbon next month- how many days would you recommend if you want to go to Cascais too? We're in Portugal for 4 weeks but need to decide how long to book the Lisbon hotel for xx
Hello! I'I've been watching your videos for a really long time and I love them ! Make sure the next time you visit Portugal you come to Porto, it's my hometown and really beautiful and full of amazing places to visit and we are all very friendly! Lots of love !

Ana Gordo I was just saying to myself that I wonder if the Golden Gate Bridge was inspired by the bridge in Lisbon and that's so crazy that it was
Ana Gordo wrong...! Lisbon Bridge was built in the sixties with an American Bridge Company project, commited by Salazar government. The Golden Gate is a 30's build. Both are suspension bridges.
Lisboa is like San Francisco... but the Golden Gate was built first... (the April 25th revolution was much later). Both bridges are lovely.
I never comment on youtube videos but hearing you talk about the positive characteristics of each of the girls.. so so genuine and kind! one of my fave youtubers x
Yep, Lisbon is absolutely incredible!!!!!! Very unique, special city!! Thanks for sharing x
