So awesome to see some of the smaller towns..they definitely make up the character of what New Zealand is….a place where people love grass roots living…and I just adore that…thanks for showing us
Yeah I figured since we had a month in Roxburgh I could take a day and show off the surrounding area because it’s been pretty kind to us! Always appreciate your comments, Jane! 😊
Love Alexandria! Didnt know it rained there 😂 hottest and coldest place in NZ Nice video! Glad ur enjoying all that NZ has to offer. Otaaaaaagooooooo!!
Check out Oamaru if you haven't already, really cool steam punk museum. Make sure you watch the movie The World's Fastest Indian, then head back to invercargill and check out the motorcycle museum and the transport museum. Also the Wanaka air museum and puzzling world are must do's. Try a bluff oyster with your next fish and chips, they batter it like fish, amazing even if you aren't a fan.
This is why fuel has gone up in price: A 25 cents a litre cut in FED came into effect in March 2022, which reduced the price of petrol at the pump by 25 cents a litre. This reduction applied until 30 June 2023.
You need to go back to Alex and see it at Winter time when it snows Donovan it is the most gorgeous little town when it is covered in snow . The time we were there in snowed in Cromwell also and we had so much fun playing in it and Alex - with snow covered trees and such so picturesque with ice peaked drops on pine trees and firs alongside the road such beautiful memories of Alexander and im going back about 15 years ago or even more as i cant think exactly im so blown away by watching this vid Thank you Donovan . Much love and Blessings and May the Lord Keep you and your lovely lady safe in your journeys 😍❤️🙏🙇♀️✝️❤️
Man every time I watch one of your videos its like going down memory lane, my greatgrandparents lived in Alex and climbing up to the clock was one of the traditions every visit! 😂 And me and my granddad would have a Jimmys pie every time we would hang out too 🥲 Small town south island is awesome, I just moved to Perth and this is making me homesick 😂😂 thanks for the trip down memory lane mate
That’s awesome to hear, Will! Thank you for commenting that. Great hearing stories like this. I feel like there’s a lot more history down here than I was expecting, I’m from Western Canada and I feel nobody really talks about anything before the 20th Century, so seeing bridges that were constructed in the late 1800s is pretty neat. 🍻😃
Hi Donovan I lived in Cromwell for a year or so and I loved those Jimmys Pies you keep eating in my face 😆🤣STOP your making me hungry right now 🤨😋 Hi to all my lovely friends i made working at Barrys Motel if any of you read this 😍 its Annie . So good to see Alex and all the beautiful places i left behind and went to Perth , and still here today . Hello beautiful Central Otago 😍 Will never forget my short time there loved it and will always be in my heart . Hi everyone and to Liz that used to run Barrys Motel i miss your yummy cheese scones you used to make for morning tea and us girls could smell them from other side of building and most precious memories of my time and short life in Cromwell . 😍❤️❤️❤️
You should go to Naseby and ranfurly they are really cool small towns in central Otago. Naseby has the only Olympic standard curling rink in the southern hemisphere and a luge track made from ice. And ranfurly has really cool architecture and old buildings.
Wrote down a few notes. My husband and I live in Wellington, but are going to Queenstown and the surrounding areas next year for the first time. Also wrote down the Tiger Milk beer you had in Hastings as we're heading up that way in September. Also going to Beervana in Wellington next month. Might see you there haha! Don't forget Brewtown in Upper Hutt when you're in Wellington.
Oh that is so great to hear! I have a couple Queenstown videos that I’m working on right now actually, I’m sure you will have a wonderful time. If you are looking to try Tiger Milk before you get to Hastings I have seen that beer available in different Countdowns around the South Island so it might be in Wellington as well! 🍻 That would be so great to see you at Beervana, I believe our tickets are for the Saturday evening session. Don’t be shy if you see me with my camera haha and I have not heard of this Brewtown, sounds really cool!! Can you get there from downtown Wellington via public transit?
@donovankelly12 we're going to Beervana on Friday night. To get to Brewtown you can get a train to Upper Hutt and then it's a short 5 minute walk. Can't wait to see your Queenstown videos.
Oh great to know, we will have to check that out!! I appreciate the insight 😃🍻 I hope you like the Queenstown videos, I’ll have a separate one on the three awesome breweries we got to experience there!
I stayed in Roxburgh in 2000. I loved jimmys pies and I actually stayed over the road from the owners. Did you see “The Lonely Graves”? My family is from Cromwell
@@donovankelly12 no camera shots still the same lol. I stayed over the bridge near the cemetery towards the dam. The graves were of a miners body that washed down the river and found by a stranger. Next to him is the man who buried him. This guys headstone reads (can’t remember his name- insert name) “The man who buried somebody’s darling”. These are from 1800s. I have pics somewhere.

Oh that sign reminded me, have you tried the Otago/Southland delicacy of Cheese Rolls yet? You enjoy our pies, hopefully you'll find those delicious too!
I haven’t yet!! Haha got a few comments on the cheese rolls but I have yet to try them, I just tried a potato top pie for the first time so that will be next.
Haha there’s been a few without beer! I feel like there’s been a lot of positive comments about the beer and when I was watching RUclips videos about New Zealand before coming here, I found there wasn’t a whole lot of content on that. Since I love checking out the local breweries, why not share some insight!! 🍻 Always appreciate your comments, Bailey! 😊
@@donovankelly12 want to thank you for your videos. Born in Bluff and spent every January for 16 years in Alexandra. Now living in Australia and your videos bring a tear to my eye. The Clyde dam looks much smaller with the lake behind it, before they filled it, i stood at the base, the sheer size of it was mind blowing.
Oh wow that must have been really cool! The camera perspective might make the scale look off as well, it’s pretty dam big in person!
