When I was just starting out on ark, I was looking for a good place to start base. I had a beautiful raptor name Bombay. I was making my merry way along the edge of a cliff scouting for a good place, when a pack of compys started attacking my raptor. We killed the first few when more of them started joining in. It was getting annoying and I decided to just run away from them, but I ran out of stamina. They caught up and kept on attacking. Then once Bombay was at half stamina, I started running. And guess what. I ran out out of stamina *again*. Then out of the corner of my eye. I saw something’s head go up, and then down. Then it got closer. I turned Bombay around so I could see it. And I was facing a Therizinosaur. Those compys led me into the path of a bloodthirsty therizinosaur... I tried running but it was too late. I got off of Bombay and delt with the compys, but then I saw it... *Your Bombay (Level 19) was killed by a therizinosaur (Level 12) *
my condolences :(
It’s only a lvl 19 raptor if it was a lvl 320 full imprint with master craft saddle MAYBE it would be worth mourning for but a lvl 19?

My condolences but I have more stories
Me and my dad play ark together every day, and when we got our first pteranodons we were so excited that we flew all around the map. Eventually we ended up landing in the dreaded redwoods, and keep in mind we didn’t even have crossbows or pikes. We didn’t progress very fast at all. Any ways me and my dad were forced to land in the redwoods and everything In there came to kill us including Carno’s . Back then we got the notification that a Carno had killed us and we didn’t know what a carno was so we called it a carnivore.
Anyways a couple weeks ago we cleared out the redwoods with our army of animals and we were flying through the redwoods on our argies when we found our two pteranodons
It was pretty funny to find out they didn’t have a scratch on them.

The iguanodon is actually very useful - they can turn berries into seeds which is useful for growing crops

Argents are easy to tame though
Iguanadons are really useful for getting around quickly, they're pretty fast and easy to tame early on, and their saddle is level 25 or around there.

The amount of times I have slewn diplodocuses is unheard of. And I have only realised all they wanted was to play not attack😢

I remember I encountered 1 and I was so scared because I had just built a base so I ran away from it and my base for 10 mins then juked and I was like “ I am a god at ark”
I don’t care if they just want to play, I’ll kill every single diplodocus I find because I know, I KNOW that their “playfulness” is going to push my raptor or my argent or even ME off a cliff, into an aggressive carnivore, and/or away from whatever the hell it is I’m wanting to do. And they’ll just keep on “playing” and preventing me from completing my task until I abandon it or the diplo dies, and I’m definitely not going to leave. 😡

This is really useful! I never knew there were so many interesting creatures in Ark.
Ever since I started playing I have lost too many beloved creatures. But WAY too many of my creatures have ganged up on poor predators. Once I was chased by a Therzinosaur, and ran back into my creature farm, ordering them all with a whistle. A rag tag group of basic level creatures succeeded in taking down the Therzino without losing anyone. I was so proud…don’t underestimate your creatures sometimes lol

Lamprey also makes you immune to radiation for ten minutes if ur a bob tryna get some rock drake eggs. Lampreys can be found in biolume rivers at the edge of the rad zone.
(You can also use a fish basket to tame them and you have 10 minute glow pets and rad suits whenever you want while still wearing your actually useful armor)

I love the iguanodon a lot for various reasons. First and main reason is while its on all fours, it can sprint without using stanima allowing for some fast traveling without needing to rest for stam. The other reason is you can have berries in its inventory and on its menu you can have it 'pit' the fruit, which gives you the seeds of said berries (which is great for glowpets)
Let me tell you. Once I checked on my Iguanadon and she had the hide of a Sarco in her inventory. She somehow killed a Sarco without me ever knowing…now I’m scared of her lol

I'm a beginner in are and started playing on a Ragnarok PvP server with some friends. I was very behind because they have all been playing together for a couple years now so this video really helped me get up to speed with the things you can do in ark. Thank you and I'll defiantly consider a sub.

-Meks: are good for raiding and making bobs ragequit the server
-Astrocetus: is good for destroying bases and trolling bobs trying to tame stuff
-Managarmr: good for PvP and ruining a bobs day
-Bloodstalker: good for traversing maps,egg captures and trolling bobs
-Spino: is good for trolling beach bobs and meatrunning their pathetic tames
-Terror bird: good for "Terrorizing" beach bobs
-Dodo: (cannon fodder) equip c4 drop them on a beach bobs thatch hut and its gone

The monkey also flings poop at your attackers blinding\slowing them and the ovaraptor is also good for stealing wyvern eggs. Take the egg off of it then hop on your flyer and leave em' behind as the wyverns will aggro on the creature who stole the egg and apparently the otter can hold the most artifacts on its person, useful for an end boss fight. The kangaroo also buffs certain Dino's once hatched or born. They give a boost to your imprinting score. ;)

here's a lil story...
I tamed my very first pteranodon a few months ago , it did not even have a name yet. I was elated as i could finally travel across the map and visit all the obelisks. A volcano close to the center of the island got the better of me and so i went there in curiosity. There, i found a lifetime supply of metal and new resources, so i looted some and returned to my base. Suddenly, my pteranodon swooped down and i realized that it was out of stamina. As the leaves cleared from my screen, i saw it. A pack of allosaurus charged at me and ended me and my pteranodon, whom had not even gotten a name. My fond memories of her is still anchored deep in my mind.
Part 2: i tamed another pteranodon and also a tapejara, it was a beautiful, white and pink tapejara, so i named it angel. Me and my new pteranodon and tapejara made the second voyage to the volcano. There, an idea sparked. I could make a forge to smelt all the metal, so i can bring twice the amount of useable metal back home! So i only brought my pteranodon down the mountain, so I won't lose angel. As i was mining wood and stone for the forge, i heard my pteranodon shriek. I turned around, horrified to see a spinosaurus lashing at my pteranodon. Soon, it got killed, now it came for me. Not only my pteranodon was killed, i got separated from angel, whom was still up at the volcano. I know, I know i have to get back to her.
Part 3:
After taming yet another pteranodon, i went back to the volcano. My pteranodon swooped down yet again to the my horror. But fortunately, there were no hostiles in sight. So we resumed our journey. Finally, we reached the peak of the volcano, i am finally reunited with angel ! With a load full of metal, we went back home, happily ev-

One summer bash, I decided to start a new playthrough on The Island. I'm hanging around on footpaw, under my favorite single player starter base tree, and I notice on the next islet east of me is this giant orange spino with purple sails. Obviously, it wouldn't take much for him to come to my side of the water and kill my dilo army. So I grinded out a whole bunch of tranq arrows, and found myself a nice vantage point, where the rocks would keep him off of me. Anyway, turned out he was low level and it didn't take nearly as many arrows as I expected. For the first time in my life, I had a starter Spino. His name was Bob. He never died, but I eventually lost the save. He was great at protecting the base, and he was the first pack mule I ever used on that save for getting metal off of the other island... the island he came from.

Kairuku when I first found out about organic polymer, I immediately made a farm of these fellas to breed and kill for the polymer. Did you know that duck fella also has organic polymer? Same with the Mantis thing. But I remember when the penguin was the only source I knew of.

I use dodos
Just use a quetz because they’ll probably have some turrets on survivors and tamed creatures.
The oviraptor boosts any female creature’s egg laying time by 2x. If there is a male nearby (mate boosted) that also gives another 2x. 4x in total which, is really good for kibble. Not much know about this but the oviraptor can steal eggs from nests (wyverns, rockdrakes, deinonychus) without making the nearby creatures aggro on you.
You can't keep the egg in the Oviraptor's inventory however, as there is a glitch that causes the egg to vanish once out of proximity of the nest(regardless of the kind of nest).
