thanks for the video, just got my first competition bike YZ 250F 2022 and was alittle nervous about about maintenace but with this video you just helped me with every step in 1 video, and yamaha makes the air filter so simple, love ur ocntent man, keep that shit up (I know this video is 2 years old but still helped me out)
-If you swap the locations of the kill switch and the map switch you can change maps while riding. -You can remove that rubber piece that goes around the gas cap. it will probably fall off anyways. -Will never ride a new bike without upper fork tube protection. If you dont have, wipe them at the track. dirt left on will easily corrode the factory anodizing. -A roll of 3M safety walk will make many frame grip patches. This bike needs grippy sides. i put it on the tank as well. -Antigravity batteries work well in these -If you hate the white radiator louvers like I do, krylon fusion works excellent. Prep the surfaces properly and it wont chip off. Black looks so much better.
depends on what you want to do, the 125x is a cross country bike, so if your looking to ride mx one weekend and trails the next, its perfect, also lower maintence, but if you're looking for a true mx bike then the 250 is the way to go, also depends if you want to race or not, if you're more of a casual rider than the 125 is probably best, but on a line with other motocross 125s wouldn't do so well, and vice versa
I just bought a 2021 yz250f. Had to tear down immediately after break in. Very little lubricant on all the bearings. Swing arm wasn’t lube. Just an FYI. Check all lube points. Great video thanks
Hey here’s a quick little tip that I do. Head over to your local buc-ee’s and the have some nice ethanol free gas I don’t know if you said what gas you use but I even heard that some people will mix it half and half with some vp racing fuel
It’s physically impossible to put the oil filter backwards on this bike. The oil filter was in right, it just looks like it has holes on both sides but it doesn’t 🤘🏼
All you need to do is remove the seat, move the fuel tank and you should have free access to the spark plug. This video should help a bit ruclips.net/video/1GJYPbDMxO8/видео.html
Can you do a vid on suspension adjustment, Ive just got a 2023 Wr250 F and I find the suspension very hard, I havnt ridden for many many yrs, Im 6ft 1, and only 143 pnds, many yrs is 40 yrs, so im old and dont have good balance
The stock setup on these bikes is definitely stiff. I’m not a huge suspension tuning guru, I’d suggest getting in contact with a local suspension tuner near you to get your bike dialed in.
First time seeing your channel and i think i like it! Love that new Yamaha, I think I'm getting another new FX next year! have an 18 now but want the 2021! subbed
Good video man. Is it just me, but I normally fill the new oil filter with oil when I change it? Would have been nice to see more detail on the oil screen. Otherwise, well done
Hoping after subscribing to your Chanel and watching most that you have posted you could help me out and do a comprehensive video on two separate subjects. The first one being adjustments to the 125 air screw and jets. There are a lot of videos out there but sometimes the production of the videos make it a little hard to follow. Second subject being how to adjust your front and rear suspension. My 2021 yz125 is really stiff and I absolutely know that the front and rear both need to be softened up.I believe your in Texas but I am at sea level in Maryland and with the changing tens and being at sea level I am constantly going through plugs. Anyway I am sure you get the point. Thanks for the great videos and I hope to see some on the subjects I mentioned. Thanks
That bolt actually goes through the other side and threads a lot like an axle. It looks like there’s no bolt but it just goes all the way through from the other side, but thanks 👍🏼
@@akmoto_ ugh yes I had to fight with it for little while. When I was trying to unscrew it, it would also move the bracket into a coil so I just used wrench to prevent it from moving into coil
Someone tell me what’s the point of warming up the oil then letting it cool back down I warm mine up so the oil comes out faster but I don’t let it cool back down
The argument could be made either way. On the hot side, one could argue the engine oil is thinner and will flow out easier. On the cold side, one could argue that by changing the oil with the engine cold more of the oil is settled to the bottom of the engine thus you will get more old oil out. I find it to be pretty insignificant either way. As long as you do your oil changes regularly and on time you’ll have no issues.
Not sure if you’re still active on here but I just bought a 2022 yz250f as my first bike. My question is the white choke thing do I pull that out to start or keep it in to start?
250, I’ve tried 2019 YZ450F and 2020 250f (just got that as my new bike) and unless your pro you don’t need 450. I have more fun on 250 as the power is more manageable but not weak, I say it’s not weak coming from a 250 2stroke. Man get the 250, unless your pro you won’t even use most of the power on a 450
@@tobyfuller9453 thanks for the response. I do a lot of dune riding and mostly love catching air and coming from a crf250r I realize these Yamahas seem to have quite bit more power, I just don’t want to be coming up short on jumps, but I also don’t want to sacrifice the nimbleness of a 250
@@jedimastergrogu3140 well my mate has a 450 and he’s not pro but he wins races, even he thinks he would be faster on a 250f. I don’t know what your track is like but my bike can clear stuff easily just need to have good corner speed. You might want to go to a dealer and speak with them, or a really good rider for there opinion for your local track as ours are probably different
If you primarily do deep sand dune riding I recommend a 450. Any 250F will need to be screaming to get around in deep sand, especially with hills and jumps. A 450 can pull you through the sand way easier, at less effort to the engine. Because you probably won’t need to scream a 450 wide open most of the time, the motor likely will need less servicing than a 250F in the long run.
So first you run the bike for 1-3 min then you ride it for like 10min by going slow. Then after that turn your bike off and the next time you ride so the same thing but ride a little bit faster and add a couple minutes. Then you can go full ham!

How are you liking the 250F? Would you say you prefer it over the 125? I am currently debating whether I should get a 125SX or YZ250F. Thanks!
I just bought one and they are literally so much freaking fun. The power is immaculate. Def 250!

Factory Backing. Wait till they have a sale, they have 45%-50% sales regularly. 💪🏼
Looks like you put the oil filter on backwards. The hole and o rink on the filter should go towards the bike.

He put it in backwards for sure, watch the video and the rubber o ring seal goes to the bike.
As Medium how he blew up his Kawi. The same way.
Pretty sure you can remove that metal cage in the air box, those things kill some horse power

Which chain lube do you use? What did you spray on the plastic after they were washed ?
Plis of you can do the video doing the oil change will be good for me
I have never ridden a 4/stroke race bike maybe one day. I really like the 125 with high compression head and race gas though
Airbox covers for the win, I always slap mine on after riding and head straight to the self service wash🔥🔥😎
The engine is making so much noise!
I would recommend just buying a presser washer to really get a good clean
Can you post a link to where you found crush washers and O rings?

Putting silicone spray on radiator shroud area not good idea, makes it slippery to grip with knees.
so touching for an excellent video
Dude how much did you put in after break in. 750ml ??
Wow great video and bikes, nice quality👌🏽
Pretty sure you put your oil filter in backwards. If you watch the way it came out and the way you put it in.
There’s a post in the housing preventing backwards installation. On this bike it’s physically impossible to install the oil filter backwards 👍🏼

I think it was a pre oiled.
You can make your own "wash cover" out of plexi.
if i were to be trail riding mainly and sometimes mx what bike should i get, crf250r, yz250f, or kx250f
I would really invest in at least a little electric pressure washer, makes it so much better and easier to wash
I have a little electric one I use when it’s muddy or when the bikes are a little dirtier 👍🏼
How is the gas tank in the center ?
