Fun fact. Del Shannon and Tom petty word good buddies. Rumour has it before del Shannon killed himself, when he was on this new anti-depressant called prozac that had just hit the market, he was supposed to become one of the travelling wilburys including Tom petty
The wonderful songs of Del Shannon, Runaway, Hats of to Larry, So long Baby, Hey little Girl, The Swiss maid, Little town flirt, Two kinds of teardrops, Sues gonna be mine, Two silhouettes, Handy man, Mary Jane, Keep Searching, Stranger in town, Break up, Move it on over. His last hit in the 80s Sea of love, Rock on DEL.
Del Shannon was a great singer and musician in that era tragically I believe he committed suicide and I want to say sometime in the nineties 91 92 Another great song he wrote was little town flirt This particular song makes me think of 1963 and 64 when I was a young boy going to our camp on the Lake and I had 4 older brothers and 2 sisters and it's just a happy time but Dell's music always spoke of being put on the outside losing the girl And if you listen to any of his other music that's kind of a message that you'll hear but the organ in this song to this day to me is second to none that particular sound was used by so many bands in that time the ventures would be another good band to check out some of their music probably the founding fathers of the surf music sound not The Beach Boys No vocals by the ventures all instrumental anyway great reaction love your energy love you positiveness and your honesty and I just say keep spreading the music to the masses and bringing the sounds that so many have not ever heard God's favour on you brother have fun im enjoying your show.
Dude, I am going to be real with you here: if you like this rock n roll classic from 1961, you will probably be BLOWN AWAY by this iconic rock instrumental from three years earlier: Link Wray's "Rumble"... it is hard, groovy, raw and the first time they played it to a crowd (making it up on the spot, no lie) the kids went MAD and demanded they play it three more times. You gotta think that means something. ruclips.net/video/ucTg6rZJCu4/видео.html

60 years ago. Del Shannon and Dion were played every Friday Night at the Sock Hops..
He did a live version of this, with mostly girls dancing around while he's on a podium. Released in1961.
