In Tom Petty’s “Runnin’ Down a Dream” he sings:
“ I had the he radio on.
    Me and Del we’re singin’
    Little Runaway

@@brittneyking4284, Let me make a suggestion. If you haven't done so yet, I would like to recommend an artist for you to listen to. If you look on my RUclips page, you will see lists of songs from as far back as the 50's. I love music (not a fan of much after the late 80s) This young lady turned 16 years old in January. I have been following her for over 6 years, and in my opinion, she sings with more feeling and emotion than anyone I've heard in my 68 years. She doesn't so much 'cover' songs, as uncovers them and gives them meaning. This is a list of songs (she has over 170 videos on RUclips and all are on my page) that I give to new reactors that I feel show her abilities the best. From her first time in a studio to the present, these will give you a glimpse in to her ability. I should say, She won Norway's Got Talent at 8 years old (entered while still 7) and has done more than a lot of artists 3 or 4 times her age. She was signed to Republic Records at 14 to her terms, and now lives in Los Angeles. You can do a search if you would like to hear more, or go to my page on RUclips, I have several playlists dedicated to her, that will answer any questions you might have. Oh, my mother was a HUGE Elvis fan, me not so much, possibly from hearing him all the time at home. LOL

He was also innovative - his keyboardist Max Crook, with whom he wrote this song, invented the Musitron, a precursor to the analog synthesizer. He made it using spare parts from household appliances & televisions! That’s the sound you hear at 2:28.

What's particularly interesting about this song, is that it features an early electronic instrument (the Musitron) that the keyboarder in this recording, Max Crook, invented himself. It was based on a 1947 French invention, the Clavioline. Those things were the forerunners of the synthesizer.

Del Shannon was a major talent in the '60's. His falsetto soared over all the competition - except for maybe the 4 Seasons and the Beach Boys. You might also want to check out "Little Town Flirt" (one of my all time favorite songs), "Stranger in Town" and "Keep Searchin' (Follow the Sun)". Good music!
