I think what made my heart sing as a kid was the idea of traveling all over the world, exploring nature with people as passionate as you are, chasing a dream that was well-respected and offered opportunities to grow and see amazing things without having to worry about money or making ends meet. I was 7-8 when Pokémon red was released. I remember hooking it up to the snes and playing it. we have the adapter. my friend was forbidden from bringing his OG fat gameboy into our house cause we stole all the batteries in the house to play Gameboy. I never got to own a Gameboy because of the battery issue. I would have liked to at least have gotten the GBA SP, but by then I was slightly older and I wanted to play more mature games so I got the PSP instead.
