I spent 3 days camped with my truck and trailer at Wenatchee Confluence State Park in Washington state - the apple capitol of the world. I wanted to ride the local trails with Robin and Chris who I know from the yearly Tater TOT event in Idaho. They ride lots of miles every day - rain, snow or shine.
The 1st day I arrived late in the afternoon and rode with Robin. She rides a Windcheetah trike and I asked her to describe it. The 2nd day, with Robin and Chris, we tackled one of the trails in a heavy rain storm. We were hopeful the weather would clear but it never did. We ended up turning back mostly because of wind and cold. The 3rd day was just right - we put in lots of miles riding all the trails in glorious conditions.
Many thanks to Chris and Robin for showing me around Wenatchee!!

This channel is about all things trikes and travel. I have been riding a recumbent trike since 2005 and have been touring since 2007 all over the world. I have toured on 6 continents, in over 20 countries and cycled more than 50,000 miles.
On this channel I have gear reviews, tips and tutorials but, mostly, I produce short travelogue type videos of my tours as I go. I travel with a Sony RX100 vii, GoPro, Insta360 One X, Mavic 2 Zoom drone, and an iphone. Thanks for subscribing and following along!

I also have an extensive journal on Blogger that goes into much more detail about the area and the emotional ups and down. The blog has a link to Garmin stats and a map of every day's ride. There are also a ton of pictures. You can find it following this link:

Thanks everyone!!
Cool her tires are cambered !
Yes, Robin likes to go fast, fast fast!
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. 😊
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video. My wife and I live in Moses Lake which is about one hour east of Wenatchee. We will be riding these trails in the Spring. I hope to see other trikers there when we do. Be healthy and happy.
I really want to check out Moses Lake - it looks beautiful. Maybe next year. Thanks, Bruce!
Thank you for taking us along on the Wenatchee Trail. The drone shots were beautiful. It definitely looked like Day 3 was the charm. Keep moving forward Sylvia!
Thank you, Tom!!
I live in East Wenatchee and i love the lack of crowds, good weather, lots of places to explore. I have 1 electric bike a trail bike 3 motorcycles and a quad
Hey Mike, great area! You should ride with Chris and Robin.
I wish I could go on a 3 day ride like this one. Obviously with a little better weather. But what a great way just to get out and relax and get away from stress.
Yes, this area has so many apple orchards I bet the spring is amazing.
Another great ride. Beautiful scenes and a great setting.
Another one for the “To Do List”. Thanks so much for sharing and keep em coming.
thanks ChisWest - I can't wait to meet and ride with you!!
@@TravelsByTrike Looking forward to that ride myself.
Thanks for sharing,some great shots
Glad you enjoyed it, Keith!
Love this video!
Thank you LaSan Allien!!
Beautiful views thank you!!
I've heard of the Wind Cheetah, and I even have a book on bikes that shows one. Now I've seen one in a video. Pretty interesting idea for steering. Only in England. Shame they don't make them any more. Just when trikes are making a come back.
Yes, thanks, I was thrilled to ride with Robin and see a Wind Cheetah in action.
Always make sure you have a Windcheetah, a Raincheetah, and a Suncheetah.
Yes, cheetahs all around.
@@TravelsByTrike Loads of Windcheetah trikes in the garage. And then they even spell it wrong Wenatchee Trail! Jeez.
enjoying your video's and your adventures, If you were to choose between electric assist or a Rohloff speed hub(i think that's what there called?) which would you choose to add to your trike? I have a greenspeed gt20.
I love the Rohloff best. The assist is terrific for riding with other people.
I’ve never seen steering like that on a trike. Very cool.
Yes, I thought it was cool as well. Thanks, dadsfunpage!
Great drone shots! I love to see the places I want to go from the air. Thank goodness the weather is still often good enough to ride, though your friends don't seem to mind! Snow? Well, I guess if you are prepared, it could be pretty fun. I see that the masks are useless in the rain. I have a skullcap motorcycle helmet and I just got a face shield for it. I will try it out this week and let you know how it works next time.
Yes, I think a face shield is more and more making sense. Thanks, Mary!
Trained for my first Ironman on that loop. exactly 10 miles round bridge to bridge.
Wow, what a gorgeous training loop!
Please tell me the brand of your visor in this video? Where did you buy it. Do you like it.
What precautions if any did you take to protect the electronics of your e-assist system? Thank you. Great video.
I didn't do anything. So far, the steps system has handled rain with no issues.
@@TravelsByTrike
Good to know Sylvia. My wife’s Hase has a STEPS system. Thank you.
Please can you ask Robin, where she got the trunk case from. Thanks.
Here is Robin's reply: The tailbox was made by AVD Windcheetah. Windcheetahs all have an offset rear wheel. The wheel is on one side of the main frame and the cassette on the other. Hence, the tailbox has to accommodate that feature.
Any issues with the camera in the rain?
The GoPro is waterproof but I'm having another issue with corrupt files. I switched sd card and it is still happening. The corruption seems to be happening when the battery is less than 10% remaining.
Great ride and videos. Introductory drone shots were awesome. Robin’s trike is certainly unique...I never even heard of the brand....but I must admit it looks awkward and looks like it doesn’t offer the stability one would look for in controls. Stay safe and keep posting as long as the weather holds up. BTW..... where are you going to spend the winter touring?
Thanks, Mark! I will be heading south - very slowly - to Tucson.
@@TravelsByTrike sage travels. Stay safe and enjoy the winter season down there. I am heading to Florida mid December assuming things stay stable with all of the distractions going on in the country...and my grandkids stay in school!
Btw.... I was intrigued by the windcheetah design so I researched it. The guy Karl who bought it from inventor/developer Dixon is a total con man who took many orders at $7000 from customers...paid in advance and never delivered trikes to anybody. Never answered emails or phone calls and ripped everybody off. Fell off the planet around 2017-18 and suits abound against him. Google it and read the horror stories. Very very sad. Lots of good people lost a fortune.
@@markfeldman6509 Robin also talked about it but managed to get her trike.
@@TravelsByTrike ...happy for her...she probably bought hers from the original inventor/ designer Dixon who had a great reputation. Apparently he got ill and was forced to sell the name and product line as he could no longer manage it and produce. The buyer was a scam artist.
You got green , it’s usually very brown.
Yes, it was beautiful!
I love seeing your rides, Got my first tad-pol trike and you are quite the inspiration. Thanks :)
I recently found out we have to have a permit to film in national parks. How do you deal with this?
Thanks, Daniel! I can't use my drone in national parks but otherwise, there's lots of places to fly.
You actually caught some rain in Wenatchee? Pretty rare event
Yes, it was cold too! I really want to go back to Wenatchee - beautiful area! Thanks for watching!
@@TravelsByTrike I lived there for almost a year about 20 yrs ago. I hope to go back one day
That's what I was thinking. This has been a very dry year and first rain in a long time. Supposed to get snow in a few days now. Winter is coming. Glad you enjoyed the loop trail.
JaYoe!! ;-) ;-)
thanks, Larry W!
3 comments within the 1st hours and all have been sexually explicit. This will not do. RUclips has been notified of each one but I am not happy.
Trolls are everywhere and this is evidence. I watch a philosophy live stream and I have had to block people recently for the first time. They enter the chat with distracting comments over and over so that the authentic chat scrolls past and you can't see the legit posts. Trolls are getting bored with lock downs, I guess.
Glad you reported them. I block them but I’m sure it’s more significant when done by the account owner
@@210SAi I hope so - this is so disheartening. I've heard other youtube people saying they stay close to the channel when they release videos. Today it occurred to me it's because of sex spamming.
@@TravelsByTrike They must have very sad little lives..... What do they get out of that horrible sort of thing?
Try not to get upset by some juvenile idiots poor judgement they have short attention spans and wont be around long
Thanks, Mike!!
