Homestead Stash - Van Horn Mansion
Go here early in the game to find two residents inside. Enter at night time and you'll find two people sleeping on the lower floor. Steal the money from their table and loot everything else in the house.
Robbery: Saint Denis Gunsmith
There's a security door inside the gunsmith that you should knock on before holding up the owner. Once he opens the door for you, kill the guard on the other side and go to the top floor of the building. You'll find an illegal poker room to loot, as well as a secret safe that the players will show you if you threaten them.
Bonus points if you can complete the robbery without a single shot fired!
Shop Robbery: Strawberry General Store
Have a look through the basement window before entering the store. Afterward, head inside and hold up the owner to make him open the trapdoor to the basement. If you threaten him further, he'll show you a loose brick in the wall.
Inspect the brick and loot the basement to complete the robbery.
Homestead Stash - Watson's Cabin
In Watson's Cabin, you find an old lady. Enter her house and use the ladder in the back to climb down into the cellar. Steal her semi-auto shotgun and leave. Return to the cabin the next day and you'll encounter the 4 sons of the old lady. Kill them all and a lockbox will now be available on the kitchen table that was previously not there. The lockbox is the secret stash and contains 1 x $73.
Robbery: Valentine Doctor
You can knock on the door either at the back of the building or inside the doctor's surgery before holding up the doctor and forcing him to open the back room. Try to escape quickly to avoid a large bounty, but don't forget the money and the Schofield Revolver.
Homestead Stash - Lonnie's Shack
Inside Lonnie's Shack, there are 4 guys. Kill 3 of them but keep 1 alive. Aim your gun at the last surviving guy and threaten him. Then he tells you the location of the stash. This will be different depending on who is the last guy alive.
Important: Make a manual save beforehand. If you don't interrogate the last guy, you can't pick up the stash.

Most people playing this game dont realize that finding some of the amounts of cash was actually big money back in those dayz.
The amount of money you carry in this game is just so unrealistic
but an oatmeal is three dollars in this game so killing people for like ten oatmeals doesn't make sense
Not to mention the gold bars you fond in the game should be worth about $7600 in 1899 money not $500

It’s so infuriating watching him cleanly rob the poker game. No matter what I do I get a bounty as soon as I start interacting with the people in the room.

@@reintjiaguas8483 tried that. Masked up, I knocked out the store owner and then tied up the guard carried them both up to the second story got to the guard in the room killed him quietly walked into the room proceeded to rob BAM crime reported. Wtf
@@reintjiaguas8483 always do. But I’ve tied the store the owner and the bottom guard then carried them both up to the second floor so nobody could see them. But the law somehow still is notified. But there’s a lot of wacky things in my game I don’t understand. Another is the valentine back room business. No matter the precautions and how quiet I am they still somehow know. Also some of the loot boxes aren’t in my game. The shark tooth trinket box isn’t there nor is the hawk talon trinket loot box by the frozen lake. Plus more things but what I’m getting at is I think this problem has something to do with my copy of the game
All the Robberies you can do are pretty cool, just too bad that money is worthless in this game. You get it easy by playing the main missions, you get most stuff for free, I had bought every gun and every upgrade for the camp, the horse etc. I could and was still swimming in money without ever doing a robbery.
It just feels pointless taking a risk with the law and getting bad honour for about a hundred dollars.
It’s just a practical demonstration of “big business” and millionaires.

I am doing my first playthrough and the money and gear is pretty meaningless. You can beat everything with a basic revolver and chewing tobacco.
Loot box at Shady Bell tomb is the best passive income in this game. $75 respawn everyday.

I just got the game and wanted to run through story before trying online. Can you set up friend only lobbies like gta online, or does it prevent you from doing certain missions?
I’ve been playing red dead 2 for about a year now just started playing the original red dead revolver and red dead one and I have almost 100% completion on RDR2 I have never seen the one in strawberry the moonshine operation still to this day red dead amazes me it was head right underneath my nose to forever and I never knew any wiser

I can NEVER do those backroom basement shop side businesses. I ALWAYS get a damn WANTED posting with 10x cops after me. 🤦♀
There are steps you have to follow to avoid that. One of them is revealing to the clerk you know about the illegal activity by knocking on the back door. Once that happens no one will run to the cops about the robbery.
I like to rob the doctor in Valentine then rush the fence mission with Hosea. Between all of that and the gold bar near Horseshoe Overlook I’m set for money.
Just rob the Van Horn mansion until sundown and you will have a LOT more than the money you would get from selling a single gold bar, and what the O Driscalls have scurried away. For reference, you can exploit said mansion by saving and then loading your game with auto save switched off.
From 1 in game day [I started at 6 am ish and stopped at just gone 1 am] I'd filled out my satchel, so no more valuables, and went from 60 dollars or so to way over 1600. [And I woulda made another 400 if I'd fenced the valuables]

Dumb question, what did you hit the gun store owner with? Was it the butt of a gun and if so how did you do it?
Either B or RT go up to them close for RT and he’ll knock them out B is the correct for this bc it’s a animation made by rockstar for this so O or B and than aim at the other guy but for random Npcs js walk close wit a gun in ur hand B or RT while close but double pressing will pull the trigger and B sometimes won’t knock them out right away👍

Never did try to rob it without Sean, long and kind of boring having to wait on them to fall out though.
There is one glitch still around, large jewellery bag will respawn when u loot it and leave the area and go back. Im too lazy to check again where specifically. I might check my history if someone notice this.

I'm currently doing the Monto's Rest one. No saving needed, and someone in the comments said you don't even have to travel as far away as he did in the video.
@@SeroTonan I found the best glitch ever exist, July 2024 still work now, but need to be in chapter 4. Before meeting Brontë, open auto save, use cheat, use money cheat add as many as you want, use obtain all outfit cheat. Then start the Brontë mission, reload the auto save after completed the mission. All the money and outfit still remains 🤯. Now I have a million 🤣

At the last location under one of the beds is a double action revolver
when you robbed the father a son you forgot to take the double barrel shot gun above the fire place
At that point in the game he probably already got one from the O'Driscol raid with Kieren.

I think the person who titled the video has trouble with English.
For the father and son home. If you come back later on and the father is still alive you can hog tie him and question the son again. He’ll point out the rest of the monies in the father’s room.
Great man. But... The last cabin - it is part of the optional task "rob a homestead" with Sean. Depending on who is left alive (others have money hidden in a pillow) - they will reveal a different hiding place each time. In the mission, the money is hidden behind the green boards. It cannot be explored until an NPC says so.
Frustrating watching him leave stuff behind at Watson cabin .

You don't need the rest, just do the Van Horn mansion exploit.
If you don't know how that works, go there, deal with the guards, take the money, loot their corpses. SAVE your game while the auto save feature is solidly turned OFF and then LOAD from inside the building. When you load back in, which, on a modern console takes barely 20 seconds, so it's not annoying really, you should be at 1 of 3 locations close to the mansion.
Repeat this process until you have as much as you want, and then save/load a final time to ensure that the exploit remains available if you want to pick it up again at some later point.
This is a way you can get 1000's of dollars with pretty much minimal effort. Most of the time, no random strangers will even hear the commotion, and even if one does, you will have time to go through the process and then save/load to the next instance, so there "should" never be any situation where you lose honour or accrue a bounty.
No honour lost. No bounty. Valuables to pawn to your camp or to fence. 1000's of dollars with minimal effort. The only real "cost" is ammo, if you DON'T use a revolver. [I usually make like Elma Fudd cause the guard face down as you go in can "sometimes" be a fidgety jerk when you "think" you shot him in the head]

@@avidnongetit8710 Your welcome. Oh, and there's a "fool-proof" method where you don't even really need a gun for this. Use your combat knife and then go up to both guards [in stealth] and use the contextual take-down. The one on the chair can be little bit awkward but you'll know Arthur's in the right spot when you slit his throat. The guard sleeping on the floor, just loom over him and press kill when he starts to get up. [you don't even need ammo, in fact it's an easy way to GET revolver ammo]
If you want to make some thousands, just go to the fallen train in ambarino... 3 gold bars inside the wagon who's "standing" up near the rocks... 1500$
@@Grezzo_ That's true, however far as I'm aware that's a 1 time deal. To my knowledge you can't glitch duplicate those 3, whereas robbing the 2 slumbering guards is easy as my aforementioned for want of a better word "exploit" would imply.
By all means however, get all the gold bars you can possibly get, all such expediate the process of getting Arthur filthy rich. [I mean we all want the best threads and the snassiest guns, right?]

I wonder with the old lady and 3 sons if you return and don't kill any of the sons and return or just kill the mother or one of the sons and return what happens? I know if you kill all the sons and leave the mother alive, you find the mother dead in bed days later.

You can get in the Albert Mason mission in chapter 2. There's a lot o vídeos on RUclips showing how.
You get the black Arabian by watching the couple getting robbed in St Denis then running down the street and taking the robbers horse. Videos on here for that too..

There's two other loot locations that respawned all the time before, but again not in my current playthrough. 💨...👀
Van Horn mansion is a bit weird if you mess it up. Basically, if you raid it, and then go on your way and leave the cell, and THEN you save, that's it. You can go back yet all you will see is an empty table with no guards sleeping.
Make sure auto save is off. Do the raid. Save, then LOAD your game. Every time you do it ALWAYS load your game after you've saved, even if you feel you got enough money or you got bored of it. The key is to always save and then always load because that resets that cell and places you in one of 3 locations near to the mansion.

You get it from the trapper, it's apart of a legendary item set

Gold bar glitch dont work no mo ?
The first place he robs can be reset, save and reload the save without leaving the area, the money on the table and the two sleeping guys will be back. You can get rich $50 per reload, and you can also build weapon/ deadeye xp from the two guys with no change to your honor. I got my health to rank 8 early in ch 2 by repeatedly knifing them while they sleep.

Pretty lame that the "high stakes" poker game robbery only nets you $70. That's not very high stakes, there is usually more money in chips on the table when I play poker in the SD saloon.
