There r a lot of ingredients down here in Mexico that can be used in a plant based diet, and those are also high in protein, this is pure gold bro, love your vids!!
I agree! I'm Mexican and have been plant base for a few years and it has been so easy for me due to my Mexican heritage. Of course I do skip the dip frying 😉
Been watching a lot of Mexico vlogs and gotta say you guys are so lucky to live in a country with one of the best culinary everything. And the nature places. Wow! Btw I'm mexi too but live in the US
I really enjoy your videos as i learn so much. Im 62 years young, vegetarian for 25 years but my meals were getting lazy and boring. Your recipies are great, easy and delicious. Best of all you're a fellow Canadian (looks like you're in B.C). Thanks
When you're juicing a citrus fruit, cut it crosswise not lengthwise as you cut across the pith and 'grain' and that helps to stop the juice from squirting everywhere, love these recipes.....am definitely trying the pizza one 😋
Living in New Zealand, I am totally clueless about Quesadillas. This gave me the know how, Derek and Crystal, thank you. Jeez I am jealous about the Butler Soy Curls and vegan cheese. We are stuck in the stone age with processed vegan food, which sometimes is a good thing 😜
Get yourself a 14" cast iron stove top griddle. Works perfect. Lodge makes them plus a few other mfg. at different price points. I make these frequently using all kinds of ingredients! YUM, one of my go to vegan eats!
I'll take the three of them! I've gotta learn to make that mayo, man..The first one seems the healthiest one (spinach). The trophy goes to the 🍕 🌮 ... How do you know the casing around the outside is not edible?? 🤪
Can't wait to try some of these recipes. Lemon in the eye? Classic Murphy's Law. And the angst flipping the tortillas was hilarious. The video was as fun to watch as the recipes were enticing to try! Thanks!
I'm running to my kitchen right now to make the soy curls quesadilla! I am absolutely going to try all 3 variations, but I've been looking for different ideas for using soy curls. Thank you!
First aid for lemon (or any other essential oil) in the eye is to put any safe oil in the corner of your eye and the lemon oil will immediately go to the oil.
"OK, while that's burning..." Totally cracked up when you said that! Another great video, Derek! Big love! P.S. I would love to see a blooper reel compilation some day. : )
Great video, I really like your recipes. I’ve been searching for a healthy, low fat vegan mayo option and have been seriously disappointed - until I watched this video. I made your homemade vegan mayo and it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for!! Its delicious! Please can you tell me how long will it keep in the fridge?
Loved all of the recipes. I’m going to a party tomorrow and we were going to make quesadillas so I will definitely make the last one that looks so amazing. Can’t wait to try.
I just discovered your channel a couple weeks ago. Saw the video with Field Roast Apple Sage sausage YUM! Love your channel. You & your wife are so cute and your recipes look amazing. Thank you
That homemade vegan mayo looks great! Mayo is one of the things I don't love in the plant based version, but yours looks easy and tasty. Can't wait to try!
Your Mayo recipe is similar to one I concocted. 2 slight differences -I use the soft silken and I add a tiny bit of dill - because I made a ranch once based from my mayo base and decided I like a teeny bit of dill too.
Great to finally meet you both at Vegan Camp Out! You have inspired me to finally embrace the whole foods way of living! Probably eating all that vegan ice cream at the camp...
Derek they all look fantastic and watching you test tasting epic. I have a ? how long does your homemade mayo last in the fridge. And another big one I purchased a vegan protein powder and wow it’s chalky not what I was expecting. Do you find your easy to manage? Thanks for sharing your recipes. 👍❤️🙂
Great questions! The mayo lasts probably 3-5 days.. maybe more but I usually eat it by then. As for protein powder, Vedge Nutrition is what I use, I don't find it chalky at all!
I have been living with a Mexican family. I’m pretty sure they throw a hand made tortilla on the griddle… put in cheese… fold. I think any fancy stuff goes on the side. Your third one does seem most authentic from what I’ve seen. Maybe I’ll try it for kicks… Gracias muchacho… deliciosas…
That lemon juice in the eye is what i imagine when some people say "plants try to kill you" lol Btw I really appreciate that you keep doing positive content about plant based foods instead of talking negativity about other diets. I'm sick of those tribal wars
All of those look amazing. Sadly I haven’t managed to find soy curls in the UK, save the ones you use, but they cost a lot on Amazon. But not to worry. I think it probably also would work with tofu. In any case all your cooking is top standard. 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍. Many good wishes to you and Crystal from the Northwest of England. 😊😊😊
I would try shredding some tofu, shredding it with a box grater, and then air frying or baking it until it gets brown. You can then cook the shredded tofu with some water and barbecue sauce (and maybe some bouillon) to get a "shredded chicken"

Oh yeah forgot to say I've been plant based almost 6 years.🙌🙌🌸🌱🥑🍏🍓🍒🍉🌶🍄🫛🫘
What plant based channels are your favorite? Are any of those featuring Mexican plant items ?
@@ultraviolet734 there are many of them but "Cocina Vegan Fácil" is definelly my favorite.
I really enjoy your videos as i learn so much. Im 62 years young, vegetarian for 25 years but my meals were getting lazy and boring. Your recipies are great, easy and delicious. Best of all you're a fellow Canadian (looks like you're in B.C). Thanks
Your recipes are always fantastic. But the best part? Your reaction when you taste them! Love it.
haha thank you!
Agree!
"Alright, while that's burning we're just going to chop up some green pepper" 😂 So good
Derek, brother, I just love the energy of your videos. Thank you for sharing your joy and life!
Thanks so much!
You’re a legend mate & inspire me every day, thanks for the fantastic videos 💓
When you're juicing a citrus fruit, cut it crosswise not lengthwise as you cut across the pith and 'grain' and that helps to stop the juice from squirting everywhere, love these recipes.....am definitely trying the pizza one 😋
Keep going... You're doing a great job and I really think we need a channel like this. Thank you.
Thank you :D
Really tasty looking recipes. Daiya should sponsor you
Daiya is a nice treat here and there so I wouldn't turn it down!
Another great video. Can’t wait to try them all. 💚🌱✌🏻
Okay, I looove the creativity - fusion at its finest! Not something super complicated yet it still makes for a fun, interesting meal!
Definitely gonna try the BLT at the very least! - probably all of them!
Wow, all 3 look amazing!!!

Thank you for the head's up on Daiya. I'll look for it.
Just made the blt one oh my gosh!! 😊I love love love it! I love the homemade mayo so so good! ❤ thanks Derek!

These all look so delish! I like to add dried fennel to marinara to make it taste more like pizza. I get fennel seeds and grind them up.
These ALL look delicious! 😋 I’m going to make them this week! Thanks for sharing ❤
I made the bacon tempeh and it is so good! Thank you, going on my list of regulars!
Those all look insanely delicious! 🤤
Yum ! These all look delicious! I think I might try the pizza one 🍕
The pizza one is perfection if I do say so myself!

Can’t wait to try! Thanks so much and keep up the great work ❤
I love watching people cook like I do.. love these Derek!!
Absolutely amazing ideas I love the way you cooked. It was very helpful thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for your easy tasty recipes 😋
Thanks for the tip on the Daiya cheese. I haven’t tried it for years, happy to hear it’s improved so much! 🌱
Can you do a video for high protein camping meals
Quesadillas for dinner tonight! Thank you for the idea
Nice! Enjoy!
Get yourself a 14" cast iron stove top griddle. Works perfect. Lodge makes them plus a few other mfg. at different price points. I make these frequently using all kinds of ingredients! YUM, one of my go to vegan eats!
those quesadillas look great ✨
Another great vid. Thanx!!!
I like to have quesadillas on weekend mornings. Can't wait to try a couple of these! Thanks, Derek. (Also, thanks for the vegan mayo recipe.)
Agreed. I've seen the aquafaba recipes so was happy to see a tofu one instead.
You're welcome!
I'll take the three of them! I've gotta learn to make that mayo, man..The first one seems the healthiest one (spinach). The trophy goes to the 🍕 🌮 ...
How do you know the casing around the outside is not edible?? 🤪
Great ideas, thanks for this!
Wooo can’t wait to try this

Flying acids have the best aim😂
Thanks so much for the awesome recipes!!
Shoot, now I have to go shopping for some Daiya cheese! Thanks, can't wait to make these
“Ask me how I know!!” 😂😂❤❤❤❤
These Quesadilla look amazing. I want to make the pizza 🍕 one first and the new daiya cheese delicious 😋
Yum, made the BLT one but I had different cheese & didn't have that mustard for the mayo, so I used Djon & used my home-made chickpea tempah
Homemade chickpea tempeh? I’m intrigued.
@mdmccutcheon yes, you make tempah but use chickpea instead of soybeans. So good
While that's burning 😅😂❤ you're too funny!
I just made your vegan queso sauce. These will be perfect with it!!
Just made the "pizza quesadilla" ❤😮these are DeeeeLishous! 😊
I'm running to my kitchen right now to make the soy curls quesadilla! I am absolutely going to try all 3 variations, but I've been looking for different ideas for using soy curls. Thank you!

This is fire, I love you guys, keep the food videos comin!
Yummy summer foods! ❤
I love your recipe for vegan Mayo! Looks delicious. I will make it today. Everything else looks so amazing, as well! Thank you.😊💯💚
First aid for lemon (or any other essential oil) in the eye is to put any safe oil in the corner of your eye and the lemon oil will immediately go to the oil.
Want to try all three
Thank you so much for your videos! You are the best.
I make tacos al pastor and carne asada with the the soy curls 😊
That sounds amazing!
"OK, while that's burning..." Totally cracked up when you said that! Another great video, Derek! Big love! P.S. I would love to see a blooper reel compilation some day. : )
haha thank you!
must make asap.
"Burned chicken" kinda reminds me of when I used to eat the burnt ends of BBQ. Looked delicious.
It was really good haha
Yum. Yum. Yum. Love all three ideas. Thanks.
Oh my goodness they look delicious. Cannot wait to try them. Thank you so much for sharing.❤️
Hope you enjoy :)

Mmmm definitely trying all three of these! Thank you! Totally agree on the daiya cheese, their reformulation is SO MUCH BETTER!
Here to support! ❤

8:46 cracked me up lol
You had me at pizza! 😂 btw have you tried Derek Sarno's smashed lentil tacos? Would love to see your spin on them, Derek ❤
Perfect!
I bought soy curls after one of the recent videos 😊 they are AWESOME and easy!! Thank you
Awesome! I'm so glad you enjoy them, they are the best!
LFG, Derek! Love to see ya back in the kitchen. How is the mouthfeel of the mayo, would a bit of tahini give it the fatty feel of mayo?
Probably! But I didn't miss the fatty feel at all
Your Mayo recipe is similar to one I concocted. 2 slight differences -I use the soft silken and I add a tiny bit of dill - because I made a ranch once based from my mayo base and decided I like a teeny bit of dill too.
Crushing it as always!
Great to finally meet you both at Vegan Camp Out!
You have inspired me to finally embrace the whole foods way of living! Probably eating all that vegan ice cream at the camp...
Yuuuummm❤
How long will the mayo keep in the fridge, a week? Will it freeze well?
Hey simnett, Michael/ kyerewaa'sveggiekitchen from Frankfurt here...I am enjoying your videos already! 🎉❤
ALL OF THEM! YUM-BO!
Derek they all look fantastic and watching you test tasting epic. I have a ? how long does your homemade mayo last in the fridge. And another big one I purchased a vegan protein powder and wow it’s chalky not what I was expecting. Do you find your easy to manage?

Yummm yum those look so good!!!!

I made the BBQ quesadilla tonight, and it was very yummy!
Omg YUM!!!

Like all of your food, they look delicious!

I believe they are called soya chunks in the UK! Maybe try an international type grocery store? Hope that helps :D Thanks for watching.

Looks very delicious
I first read 3 AM in my tab open, but now it makes me think, this can be a foodie for at 3 AM for the night snackers man :D
RIP Derek's eye 🍋😆
Thanks for the great recipes! 😋
Oh how ever I use my cashew cheese/sauce on so many things.. I’ve been obsessed with it for 10 years 😂
Those look delicious.❤
They are! :D
Pinch of pepper is missing from tempeh marinade ingredients in description. Thanks for the ideas
those lemons have it out for you! just watched your oil free sauces video and you were getting beat up there too.
