Ill be honest man, when I was young too I had a time like that when I was outside playing and our backyard was big and I was over this fence (where we were told not to go as kids) and there was much foliage and trees and bushes on this big hill (in southern California at the time) and I had to go number 2, because I couldn’t get back to the house in time, and I took off my sock and used that lol smh 🤦🏾♂️ but AS SOON as I got back to the house I rushed in the shower because it was such an uncomfortable feeling. I threw the sock away of course.. but honestly I think a lot of us 90s kids have done that at some point! We all gotta be honest and admit it!
Side note, I really enjoyed you sharing a bit about yourself and your life. It’s always nice to feel like the people you are watching are human and are willing to share some of their perspectives .

I usually keep this private, but man as soon as I heard the dad’s story about the outside I knew what was going on. This is exactly what my father did to me and my siblings when I was a kid. He kept us in a hotel room, never let us go outside. He told us never to open the door for anyone unless we heard the special knock, which happened to be Elmo’s world tune. I won’t go into detail but let me tell you the abuse we endured in that hotel room was pure hell. We DIDN’T even know we had a family, neither did our family know we existed. This is as far as I’ll go, but I remember waking up in the middle of the night. seeing him under the covers in our bed with my little sister…I’ll stop there. Hollow, thank you for playing this game. It’s kind of like therapy to see and hear everyone open up about these kind of things. Knowing that I’m not alone in this situation, and that there’s people who care. I often forget this even happened to me because the trauma is just that deep, but the ending of this game opened the flood gates for me.

There's a difference between doing it when you're out and about and you don't want to go back home to do it and having to do it because there's no choice because even toilet paper is a luxury. I think that's what he was talking about when he mentioned living in Cuba.

This is the exact feeling I’ve been having about Hollow without knowing how to put it in words. Besides competitive Pokémon, Hollow is the only gamer I watch. I think you nailed why!

This game story is based on a real case about a young woman named Elisabeth Fritzl. She had been held captive for 24 years by her father, Josef Fritzl. Josef Fritzl had assaulted and SA’d his daughter repeatedly during her imprisonment inside a concealed area in the cellar of the family home. The incest and r$pe resulted in the birth of seven children, three of whom remained in captivity with their mother Elisabeth; one died shortly after birth and was cremated the other three were brought up by Josef Fritzl and his wife, Rosemarie, having been reported as ‘foundlings’. Rosemarie claimed she didn’t know her daughter was held captive by Josef. Josef Fritzl was arrested with charges of r$pe, imprisonment and incest. In March 2009, he pleaded guilty to all counts and was sentenced to life imprisonment. He will be eligible for parole this year 2024.
The game layout is a replica (or close to it) of how it looked when Elisabeth was held captive. Elisabeth was 18 when her father kept her enslaved, and escaped at 42

As a victim of SA, I knew from the start what the theme was. I felt my heart racing as every day passed. Ugh, what a haunting game. First time a game you played that made me feel sick to my stomach and emotional.
It's a prison joke. To save toilet paper, you break off one square, make a hole in the middle of it, put your finger through the hole, wipe your butt with your finger, lick your finger clean, and throw away the square of toilet paper lol.

This game had me in a lot of emotions I’m only 19 year old and I know someday I’m going to be in a position where I’m a Father and honestly this game hurt me. I genuinely thought the father was loving and caring in the beginning just to know what he did to that little girl. And I don’t even think he’s her actual father. I’m in tears right now, I just want to beat the living hell out of the man who did that to her. There’s definitely a special place in hell for people like that. This game should be more popular for the purpose of learning and understanding. Thank you hollow for the gameplay! I pray that no individual or child has to go through something like this. 🙏♥️
I just came across this vid on my nonstop Hollow horror game binging…but I can’t watch this one now that I know the real story behind this. No way. A person who would do this to a person, his daughter, deserves the worst that imagination can conjure. The Middle Ages witch torture is nothing compared to what I could think of to such an individual

As someone who has had to experience something similar to this, wow. Unfortunately, most crimes like this are perpetrated by people known to the family, if not an actual family member. And "prayers" are cute and all, but actually believing children/people when they come forward about these crimes against them would be more helpful.
Yeah having a life like this is why I decided not to have kids. Bless Hollow, but I think people who have kids really believe they have a special insight or empathy for children as parents. I'm not taking that away, but I have immense empathy for children because I WAS one. We all were. I know how it feels. I care for every child I see as if they were my own. I don't believe I could care more than I do just because I birthed one. That may be true for a lot of people, their empathy for kids amplifies when they have them. From my point of view, my empathy for kids made me choose not to have them as the world isnt good enough for my children in my opinion. I'm glad you're advocating, glad you survived, that we both did. Great advice. I hope life is being more "fair" to you these days, and that you hug your inner child often.

Honestly, out of all the horror games this game is the most terrifying and soul crushing because this is a reality for children. It's really twisted. It IS soul tormenting stuff to even think about. The most awful horrors in this world are the ones that are the most real....
a depp message conveyed through a video game of real outside world. i was in shock after i understood the ending i couldnt move for 5 minutes after finishing the video. i hope we all unite together to help whoever we seem may need help. and finaly thankyou hollow for giving us the chance to watch this video to understand the real world.

This game reminds me of a movie I watched, a A24 film called "Room" it's about a mother and her boy who are trapped in a "Room" the little boy was born and raised in that room and knows nothing of the outside world. The movie goes through the escape and appreciation of the real world but with their past traumas of being caged for several years.

This somber, yet blissful ambience, and the diary’s genius use of Clair De Lune suggests a dream-like trance which mirrors and foreshadows the story. It reminds me a lot of the movie Room with Brie Larson.
This game is so immersive and evokes some really strong feelings, and bitter sympathies towards the children out there who live this kind of reality. For a game to do that - bravo.

I love that you chose to exclude it for this game specifically because it greatly benefits the viewer by increasing the immersion, and also allows the game and its audio to take priority in the experience. If this is about the Joseph Fritzel case, the real life story is a billion times darker than this game.
This is the first time coming across this game and it hit me with some very negative emotions. Knowing this is a reality for children out there that have gone missing and are being abused, tortured, sold and even murdered and with not much help to stop this just gets me just sick to my stomach
I was told by my military grandpa that you only get so much toilet paper so you use one sheet and put your finger through it. Wipe with your finger and use the paper to clean your finger off. 😂 loving the personal stories. I think I might be the only one who knew you were into asmr before this video. 😌 this game just breaks my heart… thanks for going through this for us. ❤❤❤

I was literally talking to my husband about Elizabeth Fritzl about 2 days ago. I read her book and remembered how she described screaming her lungs out and scratching at the door until her nails came off the night her father locked her up
watching old Hollow videos to chill. this playthrough is just sad. just became a mom to a beautiful daughter, this breaks my heart.
The game is about the Josef Fritzl case. One of the most disturbing cases of it's kind in my opinion. Josef Fritzl kept his own daughter for 24 years (1984-2008) in an secret undergound "apartment" under his house where he raped her multiple times. They got 7 children, one of whom died. One day one of the children had an severe medical emergency and had to go to the hospital, that was the reason for the case being discovered. Monsters do exist...
This is creepier than any horror game can exist in life, poor people going through stuff like this, god bless and take care of them, horrible taste after watching this, so sad :( Thanks Hollow

Never have I thought that the sound of a belt unbuckling would be bad. But in this situation, it is.
i’ve now seen both endings, the bad ending is soul shattering. there really is a special place in the deepest pits of hell for people like that.
Watching this make me hold my babys even tighter and never let them go, it's sickening and gut wrenching that this happens in real life, and you cant help to think of those poor children that are going through this daily, and the effects it will have on them later in life 😢

Idk but when hollow told his story it really made him relatable to me, i was not living in very good conditions in my childhood and i wont let that happen to my kids, i imagine hollow must be a proud dad that his kids are living a good life

Edit: I just read the comments and verified it, indeed, is the Fritzl basement. They did a good job replicated it. It has a really distinct layout, with the narrow halls. Elizabeth originally had only half the space. After having 2 kids, she wanted more space. Her and her kids dug it out themselves with their bare hands.
" In sound mind" is a great psychological horror game, you would love it

Dam this really hit me hard I didn’t expect it to be like this when watching, brought me some ugly moments in my early childhood, the same happened to me except I started out as a baby taken away and sold was missing for years but they never reported me missing 😞 then after I escaped and was rescued my dad committed suicide and my mom died around that time, I was only 6 years old. Then foster care hit

I remember reading about a story similar to this.... Might even be the one they based the have off of .. the "dad" had a full family living above and had out his one daighter in the basement.... Josef Fritzl was the guys name and even the layout of the basement and the game here are the same.
In the second dream sequence at like 17:00 you can see a "face" on the right side. It moves with your vision, like a filter. You can clearly see an eye and a nostril
