The poor man understood from experience what it’s like to be hungry & could empathize so he was ok with sharing. The rich man could not empathize bc he’s never been in that situation. This is a reflection of real life. In my line of work, this is very noticeable. I’m not saying this is true for each group but it tends to lean this way.

We all shared what we could we fished from the river and we all shared our food in this camp before we got our first paycheck. Everybody was so giving. I realized then that the people with the least amount share the most. By the way the Alaska people are the best!

heres the thing the people who do the right thing dont always get what they expect in return but in the end it then becomes worth it because if you do the right thing you ALWAYS get something nice in return but that something never dosent always come right after.

In the rich man's defense, he thought the beggar was eating food that he (The rich man) paid for. It has nothing to do with rich man/ poor man. It was just in misunderstanding. Who would not act like the rich man if you thought a stranger was seen in your food?
Server should have announced the order and the name to avoid confusion. Food may have contained ingredients that the customer may be allergic to, so it important to get the right order to the right person. She got lucky this time, but an accident can make the business lose a lot of money in legal fees.
