Liam's first race was the worst you could imagine for a rookie who comes in 10 races into the season. The fact he delivered and brought it home is a testament to his ability
a B- is a bit low isn't it? i'm not too familiar with the letter grading but the guy scored a point in singapore. his third race. in singapore.
and finishing the dutch gp with only a wet FP3 to practice and still finishing ahead of yuki is also nothing to sneeze at.

Really interested to see how piastri does in the future. He's very good at keeping a cool head and is able to keep up with Norris a lot of the time.
If by alot of the time you mean Quali. he has zero race pace, hes consistently 3-5 tenths a lap off in race pace. He needs to sort it out, but his approach and maturiaty are all good sighns e can get it done

@@ReasonableSwampMonster Its his first season where hes had a clear 2nd fastest car in more races than anyone. Hes done the same amount of races as Charles did when he dominated Bahrain 2019 and when Max won in spain 2016.
He does need to sort it out. The only drivers with that sort of deficit are stroll and Sargent. And when you are doing 20+ races in a season, being a rookie is no longer a valid excuse. He really should have brought the gap down to Lando and had much better pace in comparision the other drivers in the top teams, but that hasnt been the case.
He does need to sort it out, because how close the top 4 (behind RB) have been, being that far off in race pace is the difference between P3 and p10 (when the window licker has one of his 3 good weekends a year)
Take away the tracks where mclaren were particularly strong this year (silverstone Suzuka and Quatar( which also had manadatory pitstops that helped oscar massivly) then he really hasnt been that impressive.
For the first 10 races of their rookie seasons, in which they all had cars that were 7th to 9th best depending on the track, Oscar had less than half the points of Charles, Max and Carlos. Everyone is comparing him to Max and Charles as if they had remotley comparable cars in their rookie seaosns, but when they are actually compared it all falls a bit flat
He is a rookie and Lando is a top 5 driver on the grid do you think he will beat him in his first season?? He has not been that good in the first half of the season but since Silverstone he has been on it and keeping up with Lando at least in quali. Yes he is slower in races but thats very much due to his tyre management not being that good. BUT a lot of rookies struggle with this so if he can sourt it out in the next 2 seasons he can be a really good opponent to Lando
@@KifuqwertyIn addition he was a rookie in an ever changing car, the first 10 weeks, it was 7th -10th fastest, then it came alive only on certain tracks. 2 podiums, 2 fastest laps and a sprint win for a rookie is very impressive.
Stroll finished the season well and earned that C+ because it was looking like a solid D up until the last 5 races
Might be some recency bias. His season was quite underwhelming.

Everyone overlooks just how well Kmag consistently put up propper fights pretty much every single race even though it usually ended up being pointless in the end because of how that shitbox of a car chewed through tires like there was no tomorrow. He wasn't great in quali, but he absolutely outperformed Hulk in the races. He was much better than people give him credit for.

I never get this narrative of "Yuki being error prone". He did have a costly mistake in Mexico and a couple occassions where he had smaller mistakes (e.g. Brazil where he lost a position as he almost lost it), but has he had significantly more mistakes than other drivers? I don't think so. I think Yuki's image of being very error prone in previous years, and his radio blow ups, is creating a wrong impression of what is actually happening. If anything, I think Yuki has been one of the most consistent driver, and I do not think there was literally a single race where Yuki wasn't battling for points when the car had the pace.
There were plenty of other good drivers who had big shunts and mistakes throughout the year, be it Lando, George, Lewis, Checo, Alonso, Albon, Oscar, Pierre, Esteban... list goes on. And for some reason, Yuki's reputation seems to get punished the most.
It comes from his first two seasons. He had a really bad Rookie season and underperformed in a strong car. He crashed a lot and had costly mistakes. He also crashed out Pierre in Silverstone 2022 and indirectly destroyed Verstappens Race… He improved this year and only looked rather weak against Liam
There were also multiple qualifyings where he screwed up the warm lap or the push lap itself but yeah, the amount of mistakes he does isn't unusual for a young midfield driver.
I think it's also partially that until recently he wasn't the big mover in his team, and AT was rarely relevant, so the only times you saw him was when things went wrong.
Max broke every record that requires skill and consistency. In Miami he beat Checo with no safety cars from P9, it was such a bad beating that Checo really has not recovered.
Yeah people saying its just the car completely overlook how consistent he is. Not a single lost point because of his own fault all year not a single crash even Schumacher and Hamilton in their most dominant years weren't able to be that mistake proof and consistent. Max is a machine
@@Maggi4932 I would argue 2020 was that year for Hamilton. Bottas kept up until the silverstone blowout but from then on he got walked. Pretty sure he had enough points to win both the drivers and constructors on his own with only 16 races and missing one.

@@liveandletdie138 Crazy thing about 2020 was that Verstappen almost finished ahead of Bottas in the championship... with four more retirements. He only had one race he finished where he wasn't on the podium.
Alonso deserves more. Idk what he had to do to get that. Surely he made (pretty few) mistakes, but he made them where it mattered the less. Other than that, absolutely masterful work.

I think it was Crofty or Kravitz that mentioned he asked Max what his schedule was going to be like after Brazil and Max said he was going back to Milton Keynes to go to the simulator... He asked "why?" since Max wasn't fighting for ANYTHING at that point and his answer was "I would kick myself if the only reason I miss a win was lack of practice". So yeah... Talk about the car all you want, only a handful of drivers have that mentality. This is the sole reason not only Checo but most of the field, past, present or future, cannot hold a candle to drivers like Max. This is the reason Nico retired too, after he realized what it took to win a championship against Sir Lewis (who's basically the same when it comes to work ethic) he had the realization he's not doing it anymore so it was pointless to go on.
He even has a sim setup in his private jet. The man wins a race in F1, hops in his sim on the way home, hops in his sim at home and streams to fans while also being a pretty decent family man, hops in the sim at the factory, hops in the sim in his jet on the way to the next race, then wins the next race. Machine doesn't even begin to describe his otherworldly work ethic. I don't think a lot of us have ever seen this combination of unrelenting hard work and supernatural talent in our lifetimes. Max deserves his wins, easily.
It's interesting that you brought up Hamilton, since he's pretty open about how while he thinks the sim is important for developing the car, he finds it uncomfortable and doesn't think it helps his driving. Something about him as a driver relying a lot more on seat feedback to drive, so he feels awkward and blind when he get into a simulator (which lacks that feedback), despite how realistic the car's characteristics are.
That kind of lines up with how uncomfortable Lewis was with the Mercedes' seating position this year and how it affected his ability to feel the rear of the car, and is maybe more the reason that Verstappen has taken to these cars that you would otherwise have assumed don't match his style (Even the most pointy 2022 and 2023 car is far more understeery than 2014-2021 cars were), if he spends so much time in simulators that he's better than many at driving with less feedback.
A special mention for Scott Dixon, who has now won at least one race in nineteen consecutive seasons.

2004 and 2002 were the only years he didn’t win a race.
And Kalle Rovenperä, man wrapped up his second WRC title on the bounce this year.
You should’ve at least given some mention to Kalle Rovenperä, who at the unprecedentedly young age of 23 is a 2x (consecutive) WDC in WRC and who absolutely dominated the season.
3 wins this season, thats the same as Evans And Ogier. Admittedly, it did feel like if Seb was an actual title threat, Kalle could've pushed for the win at Monaco or Kenya, but it was far from dominating.
I think piastri might have deserved an A. Not sure what more could be expected of him as a rookie, especially with such a talented teammate.
I'd go as far as giving him an a+, with lando oscilating bewteen the A and the A+. Lando did spectacular and played everything right as he could. Piastri did nearly the same at fucking 19 years old and being the fucking calmest driver on the grid. What the fucking hell.

i want to add some more detailed context to the Tsunoda placement, since Josh is missing (or potentially, ignoring) some rather important notes.
"if Daniel was his teammate for the whole calendar year, i dont know if Yuki would be ahead of him in the standings" is the main, very weird point made. coming into Hungary, Yuki had 2 points finishes. in their time as teammates (not including his points gained with Lawson), he gained 15 more. the reason this point is confusing is because Yuki's pace to Daniel has been pretty on level, occasionally slightly faster or slightly slower depending on the track and how the team handle their cars. in a car that for half the season was definitively 6th fastest or worse, Yuki's runs of p11 - P10 were, quite literally, what the car had in it. every car in front of him was a clear league above what AT could manage. i dont see Daniel taking any more than 2-6 extra points even with good luck (something AT have been horrednous at helping with this year) if he were to be running the full season, and that cannot compensate for the points gap they currently hold.
the other main, confusing point is the comment on mistakes. Yuki's european run of races has been noticebly weak (in fact, it almost always has been, for some reason) but to chock it to mistakes when its not very difficult to look into a lot of these lower end finishes and find he would've faired better if not for Alphatauri certified strategies that even Franz himself has criticised, and clashes with other drivers out of his control, is a little odd from Josh, who's normally one of the better figures in this community for pointing out how much of a hand a drivers been given. if im to look at it objectively, outside of a couple smaller, insignificant mistakes he's made throughout the season, his only big error is in Mexico, where he was absolutely in the wrong, and faced harsh consequences in running P12 in what would've been an amazing points finish.
that being said, these points head to Daniel's corner as well, he's had some poor luck out of the few races he's attended, and while i personally believe he's had the better end of the strategies, i also can say he's had his own share of strange requests and decisions from the garage. while Yuki won their H2H, and likely would have won it with bad luck removed, i think B+ to Daniel's B is the accurate rating for the pairing.

yeah, I don't know why Josh said the mistakes was back, when most of it was because AT strategy sucks, like literally even in Abu dhabi they let him hang dry on a one-stopper, it's amazing that Yuki can come back into the points and fending off hamilton after that.
and mainly Mexico is when Old Yuki came to the surface.
Agreed, also its so strange how yuki can make a mistake and be called error prone when other drivers can do way worse and it gets ignored.
Daniel had the worst luck of pretty much any driver this year. Crashed into by Zhou in Hungary at T1, track limits at Spa, broken hand at Zandvoort, brake duct damage at Austin, a tyre landing on his rear wing in Brazil for fuck's sake, and a tearoff in his brakes in Abu Dhabi - he and Oscar have certainly proven the Australian curse exists.
But for Tsunoda, Mexico just sticks in my mind. Melting down to a full-blown tantrum behind the wheel, crashing into another driver THREE TIMES, and then having the audacity to accuse the FIA of favouritism because they didn't penalise the other driver (who did nothing wrong!) is just...holy fuck, we're three years in, how is this still happening?
Ricciardo/Tsunoda and Yume Nijino/Laura Sakuraba both should've been given B at best.
I didn’t expect to see Jett Lawrence in this video. To see two of my favorite Motorsports completely dominated by two people this year was not the most enjoyable experience. But you know I’ll watch them again next season anyways

That RB19 is the most dominant car ever, the reliability is insane. On the contrary VER is the most dominant driver within a season ever, for the same reason, reliability to win.
No, it' was NOT the most dominant car ever. Not even close. The RB was almost mediocre in Qualy. The "most dominant" cars have obliterated the field even while running in "safe mode" (such as the Merc in 2014).
People are obsessed with ending every other sentence with "ever" 🤦

@@caesar98 yeah.. if he will be really on Lando's level, it will be tricky. McLaren sees Lando as clear no1 and I don't think that's changing.
Leclerc imo was 2-3 best driver this year, and without ferrari being ferrari he would've been fighting for p2-p3 in the championship. Lando was not so good. He had a good year, but he bottled quali so many times when their car was fastest-2nd fastest (in quali obv) that he went to the school of sergio perez dotd at the end of the season. Piastri had a good season, but really needs to work on his tire management and race pace. Russell, well. He had a mistake filled season with some high notes. personally, i wouldn't put him any higher than a B+, otherwise it's just car tax.
How is Piastri b+ just as Gasly and Ocon? Sorry Piastris performance was sooo much better than theirs and then he is a rookie on top of that.
even though during the season i've been very harsh to checo, if you look at the season max had, anyone would look like an amateur next to him. And i just looked at the results of the teammates of the other recent dominant champions (Schumacher 2002, Vettel 2013, Hamilton 2020, those being the most dominant seasons for each driver) Except for lewis (rona season and merc being absolutly dominant) all of them made almost double the points of their teammates, yet noone questioned them or wanted them to be sacked at the time. Yes checo looked weak in comparison, but if you have to compete against someone who has a season only achievable on a playstation, a season where almost all but 2 records (winning the championship with 6 races to go, finishing every race on the podium, both by Schumacher in 2002) have been broken, how can you not completely break and question your ability?
You know what, I could complain for hours about verstappen, but none of that matters, his success this year was well earned and truly outstanding. Couldn't agree more with him getting driver of the year.
Verstappen gonna be DRIVER OF THE YEAR until 2030.

Jett Lawrence absolutely deserves Racer of the Year. For those who don't follow Motocross there are actually 2 seasons in America, the first half is Supercross and the second half is Motocross. Jett won the 250 Supercross title (think of it as Formula 2 for dirt bikes) and then went on to the Premiere class mid year. He proceeded to dominate 22 races straight and this is against some of the best Motocross riders in the world. The thing about Motocross though is that the equipment advantage isn't that severe so skill level matters more and even if it mattered as much as it did in Formula cars it doesn't matter cause Jett's teammate was Chase Sexton, the current reigning Supercross champion, and Jett beat him every single time. Thats like Max beating Leclerc or Lando over and over again while both being on a Redbull.
And I say this as someone who was actively cheering against Jett this season cause I didn't want ALL the racing I follow to be complete dominations.

Jett's 22-0 was absolutely a treat to see, even when challenged both by Sexton and Roczen he would find another gear.
Even more impressive is the maturity and composture, never went full send, just managing the race and winning by 10 secs

Very harsh to say Ricciardo would've beaten Yuki. Ricciardo had one good performance, Yuki had several and was absolutely stellar at the beginning of the year when the car was awful (he finished 11th like 4 times). Mexico aside, he's generally taken his chances for points when he's had them extremely well too. Ricciardo can do that, but consistently? Debatable.
Yeah I don't really see where people get the idea that Ricciardo is or would have been better than Yuki. Mexico was like the only race where Yuki got outperformed.
Came here to say this, Daniel had literally 1 good race
"1 good performance" he stepped into a car he'd never driven before in Hungary and immediately beat Tsunoda, beat him in Spa Sprint, suffered damage in Austin, beat Tsunoda comfortably in Mexico, was stupidly unlucky in Brazil and was faster, faster than Tsunoda in Vegas, and faster on race pace than Tsunoda in Abu Dhabi.
I fully agree. There has been too few races and he has already been really just one race where he showed very good performance, and that was in a race where the car clearly had a lot of race as seen with Yuki also making very good progress until he screwed it up with his contact with Piastri. (remember this is the race that Yuki knew he was going to have to start from the back of the grid due to PU change)
There has been very few races that were really comparable (because either driver had some kind of big issue), and it's quite pointless to compare a race like Vegas where both literally had zero pace.
So at best, right now, the two drivers are performing at similar level if you factor in all the different factors, and ultimately it is way too small of a sample size to draw any kind of conclusion.

"faster on race pace than Tsunoda in Abu Dhabi" - Are you fricking serious? You are trying to say Danny was the better driver in the race because he had "faster pace"? Where was he in qualifying where we see the true raw pace? Do you realize the two drivers were on entirely different strategies?
Why can't you all just accept the fact that there has been too few races where both drivers had a truly comparable race, and at best the results so far show that they are at best on par if not Yuki was slightly ahead. Just fed of hearing so many excuses for Daniel, rarely ever giving context of what is happening on Yuki's side of the garage, and just obsessing about him being better than Yuki.
Would love to see drugavich have a crack at f1. AM should definitely get a loan deal out there for some real time experience with sauber or Williams providing how well Zhou and Sargent do as I see them seats being most available compared to others
A- generous for Lando. He made a lot of qualifying mistakes in the second half of the year that cost him crucial grid positions and gave his teammate a look in.
Yes, he was also frequently very very good, particularly on race pace and consistency. B+ for mine.
I think those mistakes are the only reason he’s A- and not A+. It was only 4 quali mistakes over the whole season, it’s just that 3 happened in a short period of time that made it look worse. I mean who else had a 4 podium streak? His race pace was exceptional in the second half of the season. He was the 2nd highest scorer besides Max in the second half of the season
@@wintertimealldatime I mean the Mclaren was the 2nd and sometimes faster quali car and yet every time they had a chance for pole he bottled it. It's actually concerning. At the end of the season he went to the Checo school of DOTD's with bottling quali and then car tax. At the end of the season Lance Stroll impressed me more. Also i think leclerc might have had a podium streak if ferrari wasn't ferrari. I don't think Lando deserves to be ranked higher than Charles considering the fact that CL could've been fighting for P2/P3 without the unluck.

Pretty much spot on ratings, just shocked with Sainz B, like cmon the guy was the only non RB winner and only came behind Leclerc in the very last race...
I mean honestly, Sainz's win is a nice stat, but let's not pretend he was fighting for it against RB like Leclerc was in Vegas (damn you safety car). When the car suited him, lec was within a tenth of him (faster or slower), but when the car suited lec he was massively behind. Lec went 7-0 in quali at the end, and he was massively faster in Baku, LV and AD, to an embarrassing degree. By no means does he deserve to be ranked higher than lec, but i'd give him a B+ and leclerc an A. I'm very suprised Norris was rated so high after he bottled the end of the season so badly.
He deserved A-, but I would give Leclerc A despite whatever the shit was going on with his car.

I strongly believe McLaren will be up there battling with Red Bull. Their drivers AND pit crew have really shown signs of growth this season, and with Perez's questionable driving (that somehow landed him 2nd place total), the battles will be close next season. Can't wait to see if I'm right or not.

I think you overcompensated on your bias a bit for Lawson.
There's more nuance but on paper the guy is 4-1 on Tsunoda, after penalties were applied he was AHEAD of Tsunoda in Zandvoort. In his FIRST race in arguably the worst conditions a rookie could ask for.
Italy was mechanical so can't really judge, Singapore speaks for itself (Yes Perez and Tsunoda crashed early but it was a racing incident) and Japan featured a solid fight between them and Liam still brought it home ahead of the guy racing his THIRD season. Qatar was a dud and Yuki finished two places ahead of him in 15th.
I think a B+ would be fairer, it's hard to tell where the AT car was relative to the others but Liam certainly got more out of the car than anyone else up to that point. The man also finished 20th in a 22 person championship only doing five races. 21st (Sargeant) had an entire season.
A- IMO, for a rookie that was quite an impressive performance, and look at the car.
I could have imagined had he got a better one, he would have done more.

C+ seems generous for Perez. Sure, Max has been perfect and maybe the Top 4 teams are a bit closer than we realize if you omit Max, but I still think 2 wins / 9 podiums is pretty low considering there were A LOT of races and no mechanical failures. At best, I'd give C- for the W's.

Max has been absolutely something else this year. Relentless, flawless, careful, mostly cool and level headed and man absolute mastery of racecraft. This will be one of THE GOATED seasons for a world champion.

Thanks for not just straight up saying that Logan was bad this year. I couldn't stand the fact that everyone has been slandering him since race 1 about how slow he is.
Sure, he got demolished by Albon and some showings weren't too great, but people always tend to value the negatives way more than the positives.
Saudi Arabia for example, only his second race and he was fast enough in Quali to actually outqualify Alex. It was just the white lines on pit entry that screwed him over, and while that's a mistake that's... extremely stupid to say the least, barely anyone knew what exactly was meant with the reason behind his laptime deletion until it was too late. And generally over the last few races, he got closer. Still a good amount off, but he's getting there.
Logan has never been a Leclerc, a Russell, a Norris or a Piastri. He's more comparable to someone like Tsunoda I'd say. Tsunoda was also pretty good in Bahrain 2021, then just started to fall off massively. People were doubting him, wanting him gone, but he stayed (which is a miracle considering he's in the same team that sacked Nyck in 10 races lmao) and got time to develop himself. And now in 2023 when he was supposed to lead Alpha Tauri, he was there and he delivered, making himself a lot more popular with the majority of the people watching the sport.
Drivers like that also exist. They are more generic drivers instead of straight up generational talents.
They just need time to grow. They can't just jump into an F1 car and drive that thing as if it's their second nature. And some people need a bit less, some a bit more time.
And that time, lately, is not really being given to rookies as the sport, and especially the fanbase, gets way harsher with their treatment of new, upcoming drivers, especially when there are so many new prospects that fall into that Talent category.
Someone like Mick got not enough time imo, as his 2021 season was forgettable with that soapbox of a car and a teammate with the reputation of being the worlds best mobile roadblock, and while 2022 was better, it wasn't enough yet.
Someone like Latifi got way more time than needed, and while there were glimpses of good performance, he was massively inconsistent.
I'm not saying Logan has what it takes to be the next Max Verstappen here, but he surely has the potential to be a future team leader if he gets his stuff together.
this is actually huge, I started the year expecting MUCH worse. another big thing to take into account is that even by rookie standards he was brought into F1 a year too soon, Williams even admitted that. I think a second year would be good for him but I just don't think he'll get it unfortunately.
@@striaid Yeah, that's also another reason. Logan would've probably benefitted from another year in F2, with a few extra FP1 outings this year on top of that, but sadly Latifi just wasn't good enough and there was no driver ready yet to step up, unlike now. Although I still believe Logan does get that second season, JV has been sounding really positive about Logan and his development really throughout the entire season, and with the way he's been running the team I highly doubt that he's going to ignore everything he's said over the past few weeks/months about Logan and replace him for 2024 already.
@@tayuno Honestly, his F3 season campaign was very dominant and his F2 first season was quite impressive for a rookie so I couldn't see any point in keeping his talent just to win the F2 title (see what happened to Pourchaire if you want a mirror) or got more time to develop in an overall inferior and not quite close to be as competitive field as F1. Sure, he would have been matured later on but it was better this way - doesn't matter what memes said about him, I still believe he is a good F1 driver. Sure, he made a couple of silly mistakes and sure he crashed but that doesn't make him unworthy for staying - in the last couple of races, he showed he has an ability to keep up with his teammate, and that's still a positive sign. Still, fun fact, Max has never won any junior nor feeder series championship title before joining Toro Rosso in 2015. So, make it as you will, but he will only get better.
@@kohikappu Yeah, exactly. People just often tend to forget that people are never already at their peak from Race 1 - it always takes time. That's also why I compared him to Tsunoda, who wasn't as dominant in F3, but was really impressive during his one year in F2, finishing P3 as a Rookie, 15 points only behind Mick who obviously won that year. The competition maybe wasn't as extremely strong that year as in some other years, but it was nontheless a good sign, but then again the step up to F1 was a harsh one. What spoke in favour of Yuki that year, which wasn't applyable to Logan this year, was that the Alpha Tauri was a genuine fast car that year, unlike the Williams. I mean, Gasly got 9 finishes in the Top 6 and even a Podium, while Yuki only got two, one in Hungary and his P4 in Abu Dhabi. Pierre did to Yuki basically the same thing Alex did to Logan, but as we can see now, after years of maturing and getting to grips, that driver who got extremely outperformed is no more, and instead is well established, and that's what I'm hoping for in Logan as well now in his future, because as I've said - He clearly has the potential to be a very decent driver and regular points scorer.

On average neither merc nor aston would be the 2nd(McLaren) or even 3rd (ferrari) quickest car. But both of them were fucking consistent

This isn't me finding an excuse to be downer on Verstappen, more playing Devil's Advocate. There will be some who will say, the ultimate way to prove a driver's greatness is to win races and titles in multiple teams. Michael Schumacher, Lewis Hamilton, Alain Prost, Niki Lauda and Nelson Piquet all won titles for more than one team in their careers and with Verstappen having achieved the maximum he can do at Red Bull, he could probably seek a new challenge by trying to get another team to title success, to work with them to reach the top
He will seek the new challenge once the new regulation rolls-in; remember, Ford = Cosworth.

The thing is you say that they fired a driver at Haas but are in the same place, but obviously they have much lower repair bills this year.
It wasn't just pace with Mick, the amount he cost the team with crashes was defo not missed.
Also, I think you were letting a little Antipodean bias creep in with the whole Ricciardo/Tsunoda thing. They raced seven races together and Yuki got much better results overall. If they had been together the whole year I am not convinced Ric would have been any better. His star was well and truly tarnished with his time at McLaren and I am really not convinced he can work miracles in a bad car. In their seven races as team mates, Yuki scored four points paying positions, Dan scored one.
On his day, Yuki far out performed that shit heap of a car.

I really think the old Danny Ric is gone. He might have odd flashes of those glory days but I think overall if he does not get on with the car, he ain't gonna be performing. McLaren is the perfect example. As for Yuki, considering the car they gave him this year, I think he has done well.
Haas literally scored the same number of points in total in 2023 that Mick alone had for all of 2022. No excuses, Haas is a trash organisation.

Sasly disappointed by Zhou this season. Last year he was doing bits in that Alfa Romeo & had closed the gap to Bottas to be almost on par with him in quali & race pace. This year though, all of that has just gone out the window. I really hope he can pull it back together again for 2024, because if not, he's very likely going to have Theo Pourchaire do to his F1 seat what Zhou did to Antonio Giovinazzi's seat.

Sargent is the only driver this year to sit for the full season and finish outside the 21 out of 20 positions.

I feel like Ferrari drivers arent getting really underrated due to how much the team messes up as well as both performing well, making neither of them appear like superheroes who are anhillating their teammates.
Leclerc would've been fighting for p2-3 in the championship without the unluck and ferrari. I saw someone add it up, Leclerc lost somewhere around 100 points, sainz lost around 40. It's hard to compare their bad luck when Sai dns from p11 and Lec dns from p2. Sai also got his 10 place grid penalty on a weekend where he was massively off the pace, compared to Lec in Saudi who probably could have held on to a podium or p4
Dunno what season everyone else was watching. That was a great year. All you needed to do was watch literally the entire field other than max.
