Hey Chay I agree the rear bounces over pot holes and I ended up buying the Pierce rear torsion bar and upper rear chassis brace and it’s definitely more controlled over potholes now. ☺️
Man, seeing your VT almost makes me miss mine! Haha, even though I never got it to look nearly as good as yours. Definitely don't miss the rear axle hopping and skating around when going over potholes, even though my Mustang has the same issue to a much lesser extent. I also remember hearing about manual VT's and how people would tune it to have Traction Control off upon startup since it was overly aggressive haha. Great job, I also enjoyed the bonus things you mentioned towards the end. Keep it up!

One minor thing I came across was the trunk/cargo space light. For starters there’s only one light in the corner that barely illuminates. I tried installing an LED 6418 bulb and it would not fit into the clear case. I had to squeeze the copper terminal inside the case and force the LED bulb to fit. The second design flaw is the amount of work it takes to check/replace the windshield fluid motor. Having to remove the front passenger tire and the plastic covering just to see if the motor was disconnected is a headache
I picked up a 2015 VT with 49k on the 1st and I’ve loved every second of driving it so far. I think a part of it is due to it feeling like a juiced civic which was my first car and everytime I give it some gas and feel the boost kick in I just get a huge grin. My first orange and boosted car ever and I’m very happy with it! Looking to put some mods on it very soon but keep fighting with myself on what to get of each thing
Take that back, driving home from work and some dick decides to stop on the road to get in the right lane. I give it some gas to get back up to speed and it didn’t downshift, and just jumped forward. Engine light popped on and just flashed at me. Restarted it, everything seemed fine, tried to give it a little gas to see if it did it again and it’s like it hits 3-4k rpms and just doesn’t go. Almost stutters, any clue what this is? The fact that it drives perfectly fine in low rpms makes me think my turbo is fucked
@@grantjones6952 It's possible sadly but for the mileage it seems too soon. I'd check under the car to make sure everything is still coupled up. I've had friends experience the hot pipe (where the turbo resonator is) pop off and this boost doesn't reach the engine. Even the hose connected to the intercooler. May be that it somehow got loose and you lost boost. Lastly, the stock BOV. Though I doubt it but if the rubber diaphragm got damaged or it has an aftermarket valve stuck open? Just things that could be the issue. Hope it's something simple.
@@Chayness thanks man, I hope it’s something simple too. Now that I think about it, it feels like a misfire kind of. But only once you get past 3-4 rpms it seems. Hello, The cooling fan controller is not working for the second time in just 36 days! First time I replaced the whole fan and now the issue came again in just 36 days! What do you this is the problem? Have ever exprinced this issue before? Thanks
Hey sorry to hear but I never had this issue. When you say cooling fan do you mean the engine cooling fan? If so, your problem sounds more like a faulty temp sensor.
@@Chayness Hi, thanks for replying. Yes, it is the engine cooling fan. The issue already sorted out and the issue is with the connector that connect the Cooling fan controller.
I wish they would of put a rubber pad where your heel rubs through. Try finding a R-spec drivers floor mat. Or the fact you can't just buy the OEM shift boot, another common wear item. My Bluetooth just cuts out, still connected, still playing, just no sound.
Yea that BT is such an odd issue. It's probably harder to find things as I hear Hyundai is to discontinue the Veloster except for the N model for now anyways
My Bluetooth has been trash since I got the car. If I skip through my music too fast it completely disconnects. Dealer has played me like I’m crazy. Do you know any fix to that?

So I guess the previous person that had incorrect installed a performance chip and I took it the shop and they said it fried the ECU. It was connected to the battery to the fuse box in the engine bay to the fuse box in the interior.
@@NicoAlien602 Oh yea makes sense. "Performance" chips are a huge no go. They're not an actual tune but more of a cheap "cheat" to get the ECU to think one thing in order to produce more power but typically in an unsafe manner. Yea that's horrible.
Sadly one big issue of turbo cars is that turbos can go out. Just another moving part that goes through wear. That mileage range is sadly normal especially if the previous owner drove the car a bit more "spiritedly".
@@stephenlinden8647 the good news is you don't have to go bigger turbo. You can get a "built and upgrade" version of your own turbo called a "stuffed" turbo. Basically it's the stock turbo but with better internals to allow better efficiency and performance overall without going larger and dealing with the extra complications of going with a larger turbo.

The redesign of the gauge cluster in the Veloster is much nicer IMO

I bought a long LED strip and mounted it against the back wall. Works great, really lights up the trunk nicely.
