They do that here in the US too, in my experience, usually in old cinemas that have organs because that's what they were originally intended for. And yes, it is a glorious way to view a silent horror film!
Fantastic. Some years back here in Atlanta they showed it an old abandoned cotton warehouse and you could here the trains slowly rolling along the tracks next to the building.
This looks incredible. I love seeing historical accuracy in movies. It's an underrated tactic of depicting horror. As viewers, we are drawn into the past. We are, in some ways, no different than our ancestors. Eggers seems to play on this. The cinematography is stunning. Some of the best I've seen in a horror film! You can tell how intentional each shot is. Cannot wait to see Lily Rose-Depp tackle such a strange, and cool character.
@@MichaelFromTheAttic Honestly Del Toro is suited for Frankenstein way more, he knows how to write a sympathetic monster without taking away the fear factor.
Robert Eggers is such a lovely guy, his knowledge of his subjects is FANTASTIC and his execution BRILLIANT. He is a LEGEND IN THE MAKING. Every film of his so far a masterpiece!
An absolutely mesmerizing and haunting reimagining of Nosferatu! Eggers masterfully brings the spirit of this silent-era classic to life in a way that feels both fresh and timeless. A remarkable achievement!
I am so stoked to see this movie. Robert Eggers is the kind of director the world has needed. I'm confident that this film will end up being hailed as a masterpiece. 🖤
How fitting as the real world descends into an era of darkness and despair, Christmas 2024 is marked by a gothic horror about the onset of unrelenting evil.
I’ve got an idea for a little friendly competition. Nosferatu vs. Wicked-vampire vs witch! We need to promote the hell out of Nosferatu to make it beat Wicked’s box office numbers! I know we can do it! We need to go full TFHypeGuy during this movie’s theatrical run! We want Nosferatu to beat Wicked!
I really wish that I can watch this film but my parents are not horror fans. I’m 24 and autistic and my mom is a therapeutic-kind-of-person that does neuro-feedback for people with mental situations and stuff and she also knows that dark movies like this can make me go to dark places due to my past tantrums, throwing things, threat words and other things. But I’m not doing so much of it anymore and I’m always thinking when not going to explode like a volcano into doing things like that way again. I like horror films that are gothic, fairy-tale-quality, something psychological (depending on my taste), comedy humor, and stuff similar to my taste in what makes a good horror film. Nothing like: Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Massacre, Evil Dead, Halloween, I don’t know about Rosemary’s Baby yet, real horror jump scares and things similar to that. Again, I wish I can see this film because it looks like walking into a fairy tale and the atmospherics in the cinematography are incredible, but I can’t because mom and dad are very strict about these movies because they believe they’ll take me to dark places. If it did, I probably have to wait to watch it again a while longer. But I’m trying to be better at not taking horror films seriously.
Why does he make it sound like he and his mom went on a trying quest that took them to the edges of humanity to get an VHS of the old Nosferatu? Sacrifices were made. Blood was spilt. We returned home changed. The things we did, the things we felt we had to do.
It will only be shown in Singapore on Feb 29; which sucks. By then many would have already seen it. Heck, it might have earned nominations for which I want to see how good it is. All we have are all those crappy Asian movies. I need to see this.
But Eggers doesn't put up with details that much. Nosferatu is supposed to stand out in height, and he will cast a guy as tall as Nosferatu for the role of Thomas Hutter
I feel disappointed that Eggers chose LRD. What does he expect from an actress who can't express her emotions well? I can't believe someone like her is the daughter of a legendary actor like Johnny Depp. She seems very distant and doesn't have the same qualities. Did he just choose her just because she looked like a dying person. It feels strange. I can tolerate his tendency to prioritize stunning visuals coupled with the somewhat shallow and directionless story quality in each of his works in order to satirize certain problems in society, but choosing LRD was a bad choice. I've watched a few clips and the quality of the acting is very poor, very robotic and weak, I don't feel anything from it I hope Eggers surpasses his two predecessors but this feels a bit weak and half-assed I've also seen the initial design of the vampire very disappointing with the cat-like whiskers half a tall man like a retired basketball player grandfather and many causes and effects that are not explained are divided and it is not explained why someone goes crazy a half-wasted opportunity he should have taken this opportunity to explore the deepest darkness of the meaning of loneliness and erotic desire that dangerous but many just like it not explained by using LRD as a spotlight ballerina squeezed without emotion, it's very wrong. Anyone might be disappointed with the film if they expect a quality story but are satisfied with the visuals of their idol who enters without a clear role.
People who have seen the movie have said she's good, why don't u wait until u can see the movie instead of writing a short essay about u being miserable

Thank you for STILL not showing him! 😃😃
do wish they would not of let slip who is playing him but for marketing they had to aha
Good!
Don't worry...he's coming...
@SutphinJ808 I won't worry.
I heard he looks kinda stupid, like a homeless man.
I think Robert is a brilliant filmmaker, his films are atmospheric and beautiful
Here in Ireland they still show the old 1922 version's accompanied by organists in some old churches at Halloween time, great night out.
Where's that? Irish person here too!
Also Irish would also like to know the whereabouts!
Heck, I saw it here in Norway on its 100th anniversary accompanied by piano. It was awesome!

Guillermo Del Toro has a Frankenstein movie on the way :)
I fully intend to, either the day or week after Christmas.
Del Toro is currently making one btw

Willem Dafoe in "Shadow of the Vampire" and Nicolas Hoult in "Renfield".....here we are again:)
Willem Dafoe and Robert Eggers is one of the best pair ups in the history of the cinema.
Robert is one of those rare filmmakers who know their craft inside out and has perfect hold on their creative aspect

Very Inspiring to understand. With the Trailers they made, Nosferatu (2024) will be certainly the Best Horror movie this year.
Eggers is the GOAT
2:02 THIS SHOT. OH MY WORD, TAKE ALL MY FUCKIN MONEY
Can't wait to see it. I want Robert Eggers to make a Warner Bros. Pictures monster horror pic called Goblins.
The shot of the horses is outstanding!
It will be good to watch a gothic horror movie in this Christmas.
Whelp, looks like I'm going to the movies on Christmas day. 🤔

Bloodborne movie adaptation by Robert Eggers. He is the best director to adapt this masterpiece to the silver screen.
I feel like Del Toro would be the perfect fit for that. It would probably work better as a miniseries though.
