Hey it is a great video!! But I still hv no spark at all? I changed the spark plug, Cdi, coil, stator, rectifier and fuse and still no power.. I’m working on the kill switch which led me to u.. I need help!!! Please lol.. I hv a Chinese I believe it’s a Baja 150cc please help..
Great how you explained it Guy i work on tractors and i thought it was great how you explained it keep up the "great teaching" im going to try this for my Go Kart Carbide 150cc
you are a great source for information.I have a scorpion rt model buggy with what I think is a 150 cc engine. I bought it not running. I can’t find a regulator, rectifier. There is a unused harness next to the cdi box. When I ran power to the cdi it burnt a hole in the back of it.Ha,ha.Is there a wiring diagram for wiring the regulator/rectifer? Thanks for all you do, great job. Kerry.
Wish I would have found this a long time ago! I got buggy fever, bought one, it was an AC CDI and wiring that ignition switch confused the crap out of me because I'm used to putting power (+) to things to start them, not closing the ground.
I'm going from a DC to AC (yerf dog rover) I'm lost man. Can you please send me a drawing of what goes where. The harness I bought is set up for DC and keeps blowing my fuses because I'm not understanding what wires I cut to keep power from going to the CDI. I understand that I need the Exciter wire, but I don't know how to find the wire from the harness that I didn't need. Please send drawing of what color wire I need to go where. I have the key switch with 5 wires hanging off of it
Hi I have a 250 hammer head buggy an I'm getting fire every were I should be but when I get to the back of my coil it's not getting to the plug I have replaced the coil an plug an still no fire wat could be my problem ???
Had a Honda CL 70 1 time. If I had a pretty blue spark but would not run we went to the main Honda man which we were both Honda mechanics and he looked it up and it was supposed to have a DC coil instead of a AC coil something like that maybe opposite they looked the same but they were at AC or a DC coil and whatever it had it would fire but it would not run that is a fact from three of the best time to mechanics in Western Kentucky
Would this be the same if dealing with a starter/generater I've got a project going on with a golf cart that the wireing and components missing like starting from nouthing
So all my grounds like lights stator horn and coil on AC setup go to key switch #2 except for frame ground goes on key #1 and starting relay ground to key switch #3 yes? Engine ground goes to frame and battery negative goes to frame yes?
And if i have any dc devices on my ac system they go to the floating ground. So like example leds Stator n regulator would go to a floating ground. Ty!
I got a Honda 300EX that I'm wearing when I put the positive to the positive on the battery I go to put the ground on the negative that tries to start what what do I
I think there is a mistake here when the dc cdi gets ground on the 2 pin plug it will kill the engine. so having the key on ignition is sending ground to cdi, which is killing spark. I know this is true for the ac cdi, when ground is applied to 2 pin plug it kills spark.
i have a older hisun 500 utv same motor as yamaha rhino 660 i have no spark no nothing its been whack and hacked so i took the whole wiring harness off i dont get parts that easy cuz i live in the amazon rain forest please help im just a poor white boy in need lol
Nice to see I'm not the only one that still calls a 12v power outlet a cigarette lighter plug😂

Great video with detail. just subscribed. Definitely would be cool to have a CVT setup like yours
once we hit the 500 it will be up for grabs, stay tuned cuz there will be a few giveaways between that time, i'm sure.....

i would refer you to checking out the wiring videos on the MBX #36 yerf dog. it is a 2 part series that shows the wiring from beginning to end

Hello I'm in serious help trying to get mine running

That's crystal. I can follow your explanation like a schematic
Had a Honda CL 70 1 time. Hi can check the radial run out. Play of the rod bearing thru the spark plug hole. With a screwdriver around t.d. c. On a 6yc . 4t Thank
If I am understanding the question correctly, no the crank has to be out
Would this be the same if dealing with a starter/generater I've got a project going on with a golf cart that the wireing and components missing like starting from nouthing
this is gold. thanks for this
Your wiring it AC. Makes sense with the ground. Where does the hot wire go off the starter solenoid? Off the battery?
Not the terminals. I understand that.
Never mind I heard you say run it hot. Good video. Thanks.
Hello I hope all is well with you. Question all my accessories will be wired hot and i turn them off with there respected switches?
Hey I have a Joyner hammerhead 250 and it is DC but I want to switch to ac
Don't think you can , there is no AC power wire coming from the 250 stator
So all my grounds like lights stator horn and coil on AC setup go to key switch #2 except for frame ground goes on key #1 and starting relay ground to key switch #3 yes? Engine ground goes to frame and battery negative goes to frame yes?
And if i have any dc devices on my ac system they go to the floating ground. So like example leds Stator n regulator would go to a floating ground. Ty!
Why from dc to AC ,dc CDI is less work and trouble ?
I got a Honda 300EX that I'm wearing when I put the positive to the positive on the battery I go to put the ground on the negative that tries to start what what do I
i suspect the start button is shot and stuck giving power or ground to the solenoid all of the time

So in the AC system, the position#3 goes to the green wire in the pig tail? Where does the red go, back to solenoid?
yes
Can you use a ac cdi as a DC cdi?
no
as one , no as stated in the video if it's wired for ac, then you need an ac cdi....dc, a dc cdi
@@JNL4EVR think of it this way you can't plug a car stereo into a wall outlet and you cant take you home stereo and run it off you cars battery.
When you wire AC why wire the key switch to all grounds? Why not leave it with hots?
because the cdi is powered by ac voltage and the rest or the system is dc what all of the components have in common is the ground.
i have a older hisun 500 utv same motor as yamaha rhino 660 i have no spark no nothing its been whack and hacked so i took the whole wiring harness off i dont get parts that easy cuz i live in the amazon rain forest please help im just a poor white boy in need lol
Need help?
How do you install a 11 pole stator with a dc system
All yellows go to voltage regulator. Green to frame. Blue/white to cdi trigger. Red/black nothing.
5 STARS!
So with a DC stator." DC bike" i can change up the switch wiring as you stated..and use an AC cdi and it will work? As you described in this video.?
so as far as the stator goes if you use the red/black AC wire to power the cdi and use the appropriate cdi (AC) and rewire it at the ign switch, yes
Thanks JD
Wow JD. I JUST TALKED to you on the phone . Now I'm subscribing to your Channel thank you for your time .Paul
