The backstrap of the PPK really digs into my hand when I shoot it. As you said, very unpleasant to shoot. I picked it up for the novelty, and my wife fell in love with the looks. Once she shot it, she said no thank you. It just sits in the safe. I take it out and oil it every other month or so. I don’t have the P238, but I have a P938, and it’s pretty pleasant to shoot. Nice video sir, appreciate it.
Labor day Hammer Striker time!!Love'm both, but P238 for ye olde me. Unfortunately Sigs offering in P238 is slim, they offer only one model from their website. On the other hand I still love my Springfield Armory 911 in 380acp. At the time when I bought it it was 200 bucks cheaper then the Sig.
I love your side by side videos. Helps me as a newish gun owner when looking for my next purchase. I don't own a 380 yet and only 1 handgun, I'm thinking about bodyguard 2.0 or a new metal frame for my P365 XL. You got yourself a new subscription .
I have the Body Guard 2.0. It is a very nice, small pocket gun. I also have a PPK/s in 380. As he mentions, it has significant felt recoil, but it has a decocker, which is important to me because that is the only way I feel comfortable carrying a pistol with a round in the chamber. The Body Guard is stricter fired, so it can’t be decocked. I bought the version with the thumb safety. I personally do not consider trigger safeties to be very safe at all.
I bought a Walther PPK/s back in 2016 and sold it only 2 months later. It was just unpleasant to shoot and jammed constantly. A huge disappointment. I've never owned a Sig 238, but I do have a Springfield 911 in 380 and quite like it. It's basically the exact same gun, except a bit more "no-frills." Sadly, Springfield discontinued it a couple years ago, which is a shame because that gun was simple, reliable, and inexpensive. I will NEVER get rid of mine.
The fixed barrel of the PPK/S makes for a snappy shooter. It is quite accurate in single action mode. That 13lb first double action pull is quite a hill to climb though. I still like the PPK/S for it's quality as a collector. For actually carrying; any other tilt barrel action 380 is easier to manage, such as a Ruger LCP.
P938 Legion for me, it's a Beauty alright, I'm however not crazy about the two piece guide rod (it sometimes separates) you have to keep a eye on it, some people use Loctite on it. Good comparison, thanks for sharing!
Nice comparison, although I’m afraid you are a little bit over optimistic regarding a number of P238 models currently available. As it stands now, Sig only offers one P238 model: a two-tone CA-compliant monstrosity with crappy plastic grips, loaded chamber indicator and magazine disconnect 😢
Thats pretty funny: The $900.00+ PPK/S is "pretty unpleasant to shoot". That pretty well sums it up. 2 finger grip, unpleasent range practice day, expensive. Sounds like a gun you put in a dark drawer and sell after 2 years of boredom. James Bond indeed 🤣
For a long time, I've wondered why hasn't Walther put out an update to the classic. Clearly, the PPK series needs new sites and why I personally bought a SIG P232. Don't get me wrong, even the P232 with an upgraded recoil spring, still is snappy, while my Glock 28 .380 is like butter. I own a few .32 auto's and truly they are the most fun to shoot for small pistols. In this comparison I would buy the SIG HD and leave the PPK behind, no new tricks other than its old classic looks and heft.
Some people aren't on a budget....and refuse to cut corners on tools as serious as potentially life saving firearms....you get what you pay for! SIG P238HD rocks!!!!
Negative! That plastic 💩 can never compare to the shoot ability and smoothness and accuracy of a Sig P238HD....I know for a fact because I have them all....the Sig P238HD is a very accurate smooth shooting 380....and can be passed down several generations...not sure on the plastic fantastics....the P238HD is heirloom quality!

I’ve had the P938 for years. Great little gun and not unpleasant to shoot
.380 acp is such a sweet cartridge.
It makes the same size hole in your target as the 9mm luger bullet.
I like my new GLOCK G25
Sig for me!

I own the Sig Legion version. Great gun.

As much as I know the PPK is not a great gun, boy have I always wanted one.

The pp and ppk are the worst to shoot in every way. They look cool thats it
Maybe we're supposed to use Bond-gloves w/the PPK but the sharp edges on backside of frame dig in painfully for me. Should be rounded better.
Walther has reintroduced the PPK and PPK/s in 32 acp. They are available now.

Loved the Sig. It’s my ex wife’s gun now. If Sig would just come out with a small double/half stack 9mm version of the P-238!💸💸

It’s insane to me how somebody would pay almost $1000 for a 380.

Answer: get a bersa thunder plus
Now that Smith and Wesson has introduced its bodyguard 2.0, these others guns have been shut down.
