    WORD OF WARNING FOR EVERYONE - When I first used RoboSats the copy and paste function for the Nym DID NOT work. Of course my Tor browser crashed after already providing my gift card for the sats. Luckily the person used the code and graciously released the sats. Developers said they need to still fix that. And recommended to manually copy the Nym. I don't know if it is fixed yet just giving everyone a warning.

    I remember seeing the initial announcement for this on r/bitcoin, and checking it out, and seeing other people poke and prod it and come away thinking this might be really great. Then of course I totally forgot about it…so big kudos to you for jumping on this so early! This might be a major arrow in the sovereignty quiver!

      But what keeps someone from scamming you by spending their Amazon gift card before you get it? The KYC sats are cool, but I wonder about the security of the fiat being traded for it.

      @@BitcoinAndChess I used PayPal. With Amazon, I guess they have that covered, once you send the gift card, it's no longer yours.

    • @kozie928
      @kozie928 Год назад +1

      You should record your screen the entire time, and instantly try redeeming the card you receive. If it fails, you do not accept the trade and open a dispute I assume, showing the screen recording. They could also ask you to record a your smartphone opening the app and showing you haven't redeemed anything. It'd be hard to fake this kind of evidence (but possible if someone was creative, especially with something like gift-card codes which are not linked to a specific account, in which case both parties could provide believable evidence), but I guess that's a reason to not buy/sell very high amounts on peer2peer exchanges, especially with payment methods like gift-cards that are not linked to a specific mail/phone number/bank account.

  • @pierrevvr

    Nice video man ! I’ve not tried yet but definitely I’ll do. Got a question, is a mail needed in order to Amazon send directly the redeem code to the person or the redeem code is send to you and then you give it to the person ? If so what stop you to use the Amazon gift code after the deal ?

    • @victortapia2606
      @victortapia2606 2 года назад +3

      The person receiving the card has their Amazon account open in their browser, in order to introduce the code of the card. If it has not been used, the balance is immediately credited on their account, ready to be used in an Amazon purchase. They can then liberate whatever was being transacted with the card.

    • @kozie928
      @kozie928 Год назад +1

      It uses lightning, so you don't buy actual bitcoin. After buying SATS, you can use non-custodial submarine swaps like the Boltz exchange to swap your SATS for actual bitcoin, which should have a very very low chance of being blacklisted coins. If they are indeed blacklisted somewhere, you can swap them to lightning-sats and back to (other) bitcoin UTxOs for a very small fee as many times as you'd like.

    n26 is just like Revolut. Both services are widely used in the EU. Amazon gift cards aren't really universal where I'm from :) Maybe Germany but the rest of EU, Amazon gift cards aren't really known. Amazon is mostly just exspensive Chinese stuff so we buy locally or directly from Aliexpress ;)

    • @brandonholm5812
      @brandonholm5812 2 года назад +2

      @@julian-gen way better than Muun. Muun is shit imo, it’s not really a lightning wallet. All your funds are on chain with Muun and it just interacts with the lightning network via submarine swaps which makes it very expensive for fees over time. Also Muun is very expensive for others to send bitcoin too since Muun’s node “magnetron” charges insane fees to cover the cost of those submarine swaps. Because of this, Muun actually isn’t supported to buy bitcoin on RoboSats, you can only sell bitcoin from Muun.
      Blixt Wallet runs a full LND node on your phone and opens a lightning channel with the Blixt node or you can manually open channels to any node you want in the network. This is what I consider truly non-custodial lightning. You don’t need to rely on anyone else to use it. If the Blixt node goes down, simply open a channel to a different node, or even your own node.
