Benefits of the more simple T5 engine. Really wish they would have allowed some of the fancy options to the T5 trim. No one would pay extra for the supercharger if they knew all the maintenance issues it would have in the long term.
My 2019 XC90 T8 Inscription with 127,000 miles hasn't had anything extra because of the supercharger. I will be changing the belt in a few months myself, so we will see what happens then :p
@@looncraz yeah the supercharger issues might be a lot of fear mongering based on the issues from MY16-17. Either way, I don't need instant full torque at 2000rpm. On the rare occasion I need to accelerate quickly, waiting a second for a downshift isn't the end of the world. Supercharger is just a liability with no real benefit.
@@vica153 Seems Volvo agrees with you and go rid of the supercharger on later models... when you have electrification you really don't need it for that low end torque, anyway.
