I'm a hardcore Pixies fan. have been for decades (i'm from 75). I love this song but hate most covers. This one is good. Really good. Not soft, not wimpy Heartfelt and suffered. Great cover.
The lead singer really nails Frank Black's mix of singing and talking. You can tell she studied every note of the original.

Yup, one of the best voices I've heard in a long time. (And check out the backup vocalist on her version of "Jolene" - wow!) I think all these kids will have an easy time making a good living in music. Where circumstances give them a break, some of them will be stars, and any of them could easily make it big given a chance.
Don't ever give up on your dreams you go for all of them. There is so much musical talent in this video and believe me when I tell you this.

Madeline is rock-star ready. Nicely mixed everything sounds good. Everyone plays well. I think people are confused by SOR's long term scheduling. People on the internet are not known for their attention spans they need it now. Worked for me though.

I have ALL OF THE PIXIES/BREEDRS/AMPS/ETC - on records, CD's etc.....I have been into them since 1986. They were literally the main part of my young life from 16-30. The made my life so complete. Unless you know this band - they are one of the best ever....

I commented early on and really enjoyed the singing. But after dozens of listens, the guitar work is hitting me and the overall arrangement sounds very full. And a lot of vocal range between them. A certain amount of overall attitude comes through. Very nice and really growing on me!

Okay, so I only discovered these School of Rock videos today. It's now 3:30am because I've been binge watching. I was about to shut it down and go to bed and then I saw Pixies being covered. No way! So I give it a go, and as usual, I'm blown away. That room just bled talent from every corner.

No doubt about it.. These guys would have been regulars on top of the charts and "Top Of The Pops" with these tracks back in the day..!! Often better than the original artists if we're honest.

@@JimmySell I don't think so. Technical ability only goes so far. These are amazing covers, but somewhat overproduced. Too clean really. They have no character.

I'm one of those cynics who believes the world is going to hell, and that we haven't done nearly enough (or much of anything) to make things right for our youth ... But one thing we did get right, Rock & Roll, you know is in the best of hands with musicians such as these. I sincerely love all that these rockers do.

It’s crazy that Fight Club made this song huge. I couldn’t even remember which album it was from now even my kids no all the words. Great version here. Glad to see a girl singing lead.
Excellent rendition of a great song. Vocals and guitar work are exceptional - that lead singer is just incredible. Drums and bass are also good, although this song doesn't really give them room to shine. I'm a big Pixies fan but this version is better. Whoever arranged this (indeed, pretty much everything from this group of all stars) has a genius for it; this is a simple little song (except perhaps demanding vocally) and they've integrated a LOT of instruments to make it even better than the original. Can't be easy to integrate that many musicians into such a slow, simple song where any mistake or timing error would be glaring.
You all are so very talented I only hope that you are achieving dreams in the music industry. Don't any of you give up taking the members of this band and tour because you are good enough.
