I want to take a second and give props to that pop art intro edit 😍
Thank you I appreciate it
I’ve been training in the Nimbus 25. Today I needed to increase my paces. I wore the SuperBlast. MY GOD that is a great shoe!!
Lol 😂 that Star Wars rebels reference was hilarious. Great intro loving the reviews.
Thank you
great video as ever Chris, I did consider this shoe but ended up going for the Superblast as it covers more bases despite being more expensive
Wow Fordy ! The production value of this video is off the charts. I didn't know you were getting Guy Ritchie to direct your shoe reviews now ! ...I got my rebel v4's last week in my usual size of 12.5, and they were too small/short. Waiting for my size 13's to come.
Thank you!
Bought these the other day and love them. At that price for the deviate nitro 2, I'll take a shot on them. The price of the superblast scares me unless it's come down since release.
V2 was one of my favorites. Might need to look at v4 for my summer shoe.
You’ll
Love them
These look sick, love a funky midsole design (Novablast 3 was also great for that). Really want these but going to have to wear out some of my other shoes first to make room.
Yeah and you’ll get them cheaper
I love mine. First time in NB. Nice daily trainer
Great shoe
Outstanding! Detailed overview.
Thank you!
I’ve never tried New Balance but I really like the look of the design of the new range of shoes. Would be keen to try this one.
Yeah they’ve upped their game
Yeah they must have signed a few adidas designers
That blue colorway is fire. I hope the SC Trainer v3 and the SC Elite v4 come in that blue.
Fingers crossed
Put twenty miles on my V4’s last week, absolutely love them!
I’m with you
That Puma shoe is a banger!! Love mine 👌🏻
I love it!
I have that colour way in the V2 and still love them 600miles in
I got the deviate nitro 2 for some time and logged more than 900k in them... I bought them for 90euros, and all I can say is that these shoes were great daily trainers. I am about to replace them with novablast 4 and I am already using the hoka mach x (another great option) as a daily trainer (logged 300+ km so far). Although NB Revel v4 seems an alluring option, their price, the blurry sizing and their questionable durability will keep me away. Btw, Chris, nice vlog editing with the flashing colours!
I just got a pair of these. Will be taking them out for their 1st run this afternoon. Hoping to get some good runs out of them.
What's the verdict? Lol
Hi Chris, you took me a bit by surprise withe the Puma Deviate Nitro 2. I just finished 500K in my Pumas (absolutely brilliant shoe especially for a British 'winter') and I was considering this NB Rebel 4 as a daily trainer as a next shoes in my rotation. Definitely need to try them and see whether I will try to get a second pair of Deviate 2 or NBs. Thanks
Get the puma whilst cheap
My pair arrived yesterday, and the first 8k was a hoot!
Kinda somewhat reminds me of a more comfortable, more stable, slightly slower takumi sen. Kinda like takumi sen with training wheels
I'll also add, they make me want to sell my prime X strung 2 and replace them with the SC V4
Looks Nice Bud i need wide feed shoes 😢
Very good trainer , Rebel v4 👏🏻
I was trying it on today, was littlbit small for my regular size. I will test the shoe on a run this week with new balance so will try to go a half size up aswell 💪
Enjoy
I also ordered mine in my regular size and it felt a bit small. Had to return it. WIll try one half a size up and see how it feels.
@@zionpixel did i test run in them today 👌 half size up was perfect for me. Happily surprised with the shoe
@@theswerunner I JUST left the shop with my half size bigger as well 😅
Thanks for sharing the update and congrats on the new shoe! Happy running!
I have to go down 1/2 size for rebel v4
I have the Puma Deviate Nitro 2. Although it is a superb shoe, I think I will try this one out when it gets a bit old to replace it. As a slower runner, I feel like I don't get the best of the composite plate in the deviate 2, and I find it too warm, despite the current cold(ish) temperatures. Probably by summer, my feet will be cooking in those. Let's see how the NB holds up in the long term.
Exactly I’ll report back
I just bought these because.......they look AWESOME
Such a good shoe
Hi, thanks for you reviews. I bought the adidas boston 12 after you review last year and i love this shoes! In your opinion the rebel V4 can substitute the boston 12, for long runs, up tempo runs and fast interval training? Thanks :)
No mate this rebel is good in my view only upto half
I don't like Boston 12 for long runs at all. Just not comfortable enough. Took it for 16km the other day, couldn't wait to get them off my feet. Love them for fast trainings.
I didn’t love these when I tried them on. Too much room in the toe box. Upper felt odd to me. I also felt they were quite “mushy” on the landings. But, running shoes are personal and I wanted to be able to buy these!
Yep lots of room
They are so light I just feel like I’m gliding when I run. Raced a HM in my Saucony Endorphin pro 3s and they felt like bricks by comparison. Making me VERY curious about the new Pacer later this year!
Nice... Love the v3 (I know you don't like the 3 😅). Will buy the v4 in 2025
And you’ll get them a lot cheaper
I think the Rebel v4 is the best looking shoe on the market and is also a fantastic daily. Been loving my runs in them so far. They make you want to run fast!
Totally agree
Bought a pair a few weeks ago. This is now my go to daily trainer. Like you said, I can do anything in these. Where did you find the Puma's at that price?
Start fitness
Nice one !
Thanks!
last year I ran a 21K with the rebel v2, a very and simply shoe. What about the V4? The V3 is better than these 2? Jaaaa you re in love with the deviate 2 . I will try the novablast 3 . But for the racing I ll go with the magic speed 2.
Deviate Nitro 2 - 163mi…The heal counter ever so slightly angles inward towards the Achilles. Irritates a chronic Achilles issue. Looking forward to trying the Rebel 4.
I love them
Same issue for me.
How does it compare to the saucony ride?
Shout out to New Balance and all the Boston shoe companies (Puma US, Reebok, Saucony, Topo). They've stepped it up this year.
Good shout
@@FordyRuns You da man, Chris.
I thought Reebok was British? (They used to have the flag all over the shoes).
@@dri1811ya Reebok headquarters is in Boston MA
Competencia directa del Speed 4 ?
I'm looking for the bounciest running shoe that can be used for walking too. Which has the highest energy return?
Far 2 baggy a fit for my taste, also i had issues with the arch. Didn't run in them returned , not right for my narrow foot. Bought the mach 6 instead love it.
Mach 6 is great
How do you find Mach 6 for longer runs? i.e 20mile?
@lblackburn4640 only taken them up to 10 miles , I would say probably fine but think they shine at up Tempo shorter efforts. I would have no problems running 20 miles in them though and plan to.
Like Fordy said the Mach 6 is definitely better for narrow feet. Sadly my narrow ankles mean I can't get a good heel lock in the Mach 6 though. I always tend to struggle with heel lock in Hoka shoes though for some reason.
its soo good and i would put it up against the speed 4 any day
It’s a belter
Great video
I still love vs 1 the best. Then vs 2 and so on. That to me it’s no longer a rebel it’s a shoe like everybody else makes. I think every version is gained maybe 2 to 4 mm of stack height so I guess its common rebel
did you go true to size or half size up?
I’m a bid sad, New Balance UK doesn’t seem to be stocking my size (13.5) in any of their fresh foam line up this year and all the shoes seem banging!
That’s annoying
What an intro!
Thank you
its a very different ride vs SuperBlast, im 81kg in kit felt the Rebel would offer far more benefit to a lightweight. purely on compression rebound, for my weight SB ffTurbo supports loading better vs the super soft peba. Rebel used as my hill repeats shoe
Thanks for the feedback
Have 10 or 12 pairs and only my Boston 12 and Deviate Nitro 2 are suitable for distances over 20k. All my other shoes will cause me discomfort or blisters after 15-20k or so.
Interesting thanks
baby superblast... ooooo🙂 that is high praise
Yep
How is the heel stability for heel strikers ? Does it have the super wobbly heel of the 1080 v13 , or is it much more stable ?
Thanks.
Ive had no issues with it
Good afternoon. Interesting description, another comparison: Nb fuelcell Rebel v4 - Asics novablast 4. What do you think, please??. Like to Fordy. Cheers.
coming soon.....
@@FordyRuns. Thanks.
Here in the States Pumas almost never go on sale… I’d try the Rebel4 or Endorphin Speed3/4 before Mach6 when Hokas typically don’t fit my feet. Ok, I’ll quit my whining now.
So is this good for easy runs?
Hi Fordy
I am looking for a long distance trainer but without carbon plate
Do you think the Superblast is fast enough for long intervals at 3'45/km (my marathon pace)
Thanks for your help
Yes, absolutely
Hoping this bad boy gets me througb my first marathon
Ran in the V3 really liked them but the arch in the middle of the V4 is painful.
No arch issues here
Hey, some reviewer found that it lost some pop after 100 miles.
I wonder did yours feel the same?
No issues so far
Puma deviate nitro 2 is a very good shoe but its not comfortable in the toe area over a longer period of time plus it starts feeling heavy approximately around 15 km.
Fair enough
I’m loving my pair for easy paces, incredibly stable just chuck them on and forget. You forgot to mention the price point too it’s great compared to the speed 4 etc.
Yep agree
Does this makes sense if I already have novablast 4?
NB 4 is a great shoe so prob not
Hi, why u should do up size? Isn't true to size? Thanks
Not for me
I tried this shoes at the store and noticed the significantly high arc that makes it a bit uncomfortable
Ah ok I had no issues
Would you get these if you could not get the superblast?
No
In Canada the Rebel v4 is 30 dollars cheaper. Seems like Puma is in hardly any stores over here. Too bad.
Shame
I had to go a full size up in this shoe.
Good for over pronation?
It’s wide
Be super helpful to see it gets past 100 miles. My Rebel 2 died before that.
I have the V2 and they are nice but not for anything more than 5km. Fuelcell is too squishy for me.
Hi fordy could the deviate nitro 2 work for a overpronater currently using the tempus and gt2000??
I’d stick with the Tempus
The blend is 80/20 EVA/PEBA.
thanks 'peba blend'
mach 6 or rebel v4?
Comes out later in the week #yourwelcome
@@FordyRuns just found a superblast today sitting in a store here in Berlin for 129 euros, so I decided to go for it 😀 no mach 6 or rebel v4 so soon...
Fordy: New Balance Fuel Cell Rebel V4 is the BEST!
Also Fordy: that said, buy the Puma Deviate Nitro 2!
🤣🤣🤣
I love a bargain
@@FordyRuns everyone does :)
I just bought a pair and the only real negative I have is something you just barely touched on....the massive amount of exposed/bare Midsole under foot. Who at New Balance thought that was a good idea? Why not just save a little bit of weight and strip all the rubber off the bottom? I mean, if you are going to go that far to leave the heel and midfoot exposed, just do it to the whole freakin shoe? That white midsole foam is scrubbing the pavement with every foot strike. Why not protect/cover it with some rubber, for the love of Peter, Paul and Mary? I am looking all through the shoe box and the floor of the store I bought them from...for the missing pieces of rubber. They have to be somewhere....right?
If only the superblast was still available 😭
