My distant family still has an operational water wheel mill in bakersville NC..
I still find old wagon wheel hubs in the creeks every so often.
That's really interesting! It’s amazing how remnants of the past can still be found in such unexpected places. Have you ever thought about what stories those wagon wheel hubs could tell?
@@ExploringCreationVids My grandad told me they used to pull the wagons into a shallow creek and let them sit for a day so the wooden wheels would swell and tighten up to the hubs. They sure had everything figured out back then that's for sure.
I was just down at hatton's ferry virginia a few weeks ago. it is the last poled cable ferry left in the United States
