Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

On your next Space Fight, add at least one TNT in the very center of your vehicle so we get that super cool explosion that sends all your pieces flying.

i was thinking the same thing, i was sitting there thinking id just have a single small thruster, and the ability to rotate via gyros, then 1 or 2 pintle mounted guns, past that id just want layers and layers of shields, id be slow and low firepower, but it would be nigh impossible to break me

So sad that Scrapman nerfed himself after round 1. I know the intent was to make the match fair, but I feel like since he already sacrificed a whole shield, and was sitting at 48 power cores instead of 50, he was well within the realm of fairness. Scrapman won this in my book.
He still ripped everyone else apart, I would say that getting nerfed was more than fair.
Ah yes, because changing 2 of his guns is totally the reason he lost, not the fact that he kept crashing into the other guys' ships and had no shield protecting his back

@@LoyaLPikmin Yes, that's what I said, he made himself vulnerable by not having a shield on his back, that's how he got shot down in some later rounds
did he add two emps? because maybe a second shield was better.
He still got a win with less firepower, so it was more fair and therefore fun.
I actually don't like that the regular thrusters work in space, there should be more of a challenge in space
I understand why you want that, but it's just going limits your choice for propulsion. The dev probably has considered it.
@@RustTree0915their power should increase as the atmosphere increase, but i will not mind if it just worked on one power despite the change in atmosphere, but please don't make an air based engine work where there is no AIR!!!

I think the only thrusters that should work in space before this update is the mini thruster as there is not air intake

Hey scrap man, could you do some experiments with the new blocks, such as testing if stacking shields can take two EMP’s? And if they block all incoming damage? That would be cool.
The shields can block all projectiles (Well except the EMP since they one shot) but they don't block creations (Vehicles, Dynamite and Player Made Weapons [PMW]). But however though to make a multi layer Shield your going to need a very big build since having shields layered and close to each other may not work unless you layer the shield higher than the other.
@@darkstar_sierra1588then just adjust their settings, the creation needs to only fit 4 of them if you want whole double layer, and you could even do something like scrapman did here and just use two on the front with different height adjustments
May also want to consider shield cycling ie having two or more shields alternate on/off so at least one is always on.

I’ve taken the time to carefully inspect every craft. Trying to find the weakness in every single one. It was difficult and took me exactly 26 minutes and 49 seconds to come up with the weakness to every single persons space craft.

As I said on Yzuei's posting of this dogfight, I'd love to see a rematch in which the other participants redo their builds to match ScrapMan's firepower instead of ScrapMan reducing the blaster count. More blasters instead of EMPs could be very interesting, based on how the first round went.
The x-wings and t-fighters are gonna be so cool with this update

You should do a dog-fight without or low power quantum rudders
Curiosity: 1: Did any of you use any Armor Blocks? 2: Does the Deco Greeble that clearly used the Armor Blocks as a Base for their Model have or lack Armor?
Also, it does kinda feel like an Anomaly that the Jet Thrusters are working in Space when both pure Propellers don't, & I assume Heli Blades also wouldn't for blatantly obvious reasons. I'm not actually sure though if the Jet Propellers are 100% Wind Thrust and *should* be acting like the Propellers or if they suck up air to feed into Jet Thrust and thus would be kinda like a Propeller Propulsion/ Jet Propulsion hybrid... thus if in Space the lack of air would leave only the Jet half still operational thus make it make more sense that the Jet Thrusters would work in Space but the lack of air would waste half their power potential thus render them only at 50% of their power strength thus make using them over Dragon Jets or Space Thrusters a questionable strat on Creations that intend to live entirely in Space and don't plan to do any planetary traipsing... and even on the Planets I assume their less Gravity would be no guarantee they have any Atmo, thus Air, on them...
If a cannon were fired in space would the projectile still drop or continue in a straight trajectory?

The Devs have confirmed there is no bullet drop in space they will only start dropping when they hit atmosphere of one the planets.

@@nathanielsantana403 Yes but it's dangerous since the bombs follow the same velocity and trajectory while dropping them in space and they fly in a straight line (While moving). But stationary your at risk of the bombs colliding with each other and exploding.
I think the rules may not have been established properly for this. Cuz I think Yzuei still considers himself in even when he has no propulsion but still has gyro and weapons

Video idea: you build a vehicle, then spin a wheel for who's vehicle you get, so you have to strategies to make it powerful enough that if you get it it's a good vehicle still but if someone else gets it, you aren't completely screwed

Realistic Space battleship next (only manuvering useing engine)like a realistic spaceship would. maybe useing front/nose engine to slow down, back engine to accelerate,and RCS instead of wing.

I feel like the jet engines should not work in a non-atmosphere, seeing as there's no oxygen to burn.
Also, Patch's vehicle reminds me of the personal aircraft from Tron Legacy
I'm surprised that someone didnt layer shields to be a juggernaut. Maybe you can do that for a challenge one big slow ship with two shields vs a fast fighter, so 1v1, or two fighters and a gunner 2v2.
Can you build the battleship Yamamoto (but the one from the anime) would be really cool.😎

Be able to turn off the quantum rudder.
Make atmosphere based propulsion not work in space. If a planet has half atmosphere the propulsion works on half power.
Can you do a propeller only dogfight on one of the new plants with a thin atmosphere that only covers a small area

i have a idea for next video not sure if you have done this yet but its like a large cargo spaceship and defensive guns on it and 1 spacecraft defending the large cargo spaceship and the other team has the same stuff and the goal is to destroy the other people's cargo spaceship, you have to balance defense to defend your cargo ship while attacking the enemy but if trailmakers allow bigger ships than i expect then you could probably have 3 major cargo of the ship to defend maybe like tnt front middle back of the cargo spaceship then have 3 guns on the front, middle, back of the cargo spaceship to defend those when the teammate is gone to destroy the other persons cargo spaceship, the guns wont be powerful enough to defend itself just powerful enough to delay maybe you could even have all 3 guns being EMP to keep slowing the enemy down and here is the twist you are both trying to travel to the other side of the map from the corner to the end but if the other enemy still has cargo left you wont be able to win and loop back and also if both have the same cargo when reaching the end its a tie so it continues until one loses cargo so they would win until you make it a tie or you remove all their cargo but its not just that after removing all their cargo in a event where you get lucky you have to still try to get to the space station or the corner of the map you dont really need to go in it but you can just hit it with your cargo spaceship and if you teleport in the corner then you win also idk how this got so long please tell me why let me see if i can shorten it so well i did oh ya i forgot the you should probably give the cargo player higher limits than normal maybe so they can try to clean out a section of the ship that exploded when the cargo was hit or insulate it from the ship so the ship can still work after the destruction

suggestion for next multiplayer video:
2v2, where 1 person builds a dreadnought styled massive mothership of sorts(with separately controlled turrets), and the other has to make a small, nimble fighter, and it could work like 1 person is manning the guns, the other is driving, and the other team is using the fighter built by the person responsible for that build(it has been done, but not in space yet so it would be interesting)
Scrap man woulda won had he not nerfed his own build... Just saying, as it was, he had the best build by far.
I wonder if you could set up two forward facing shields with one just slightly larger than the other to get double forward shielding?
Next time you want to consider skimping on shields, as strange as it sounds, face the shield up. People have a natural tendency to turn 'up' in aerial dogfights, which means the top, front, and rear of your ship are more vulnerable than the bottom. This isn't always true and certainly can cause some issues every so-often, but might be fun to consider.
You might want to experiment with shields as well, and determine the regeneration rate. A shield that is larger might take longer to regenerate while smaller shaped shields might regenerate faster.
They should do this but if they can’t shoot or move they can join the person who shot them down and use their ship but to claim them you have to sit next to them for 5 seconds but if they die they stay on the same team and maybe any one could claim them, until there is only one team
I would love to see a space dogfight without the quantum ruders! A true space dogfight!
I wonder what would happen if you put a shield generator on a rotating servo. Do you get a spinning shield?
try to do a round battle with no limit except time and each round you get more time like 1 min 2min and more but you dont see each others build an till you fight
It's a shame Scrapman didn't have 3 spare power cores. He could have added another shield.

a freighter vs 2 fighters would be cool where the freighter has 2 layers of shields a driver and a gunner with the goal to survive the longest and the fighters to destroy the freighter as fast as they can

Great video and builds. Battle idea for ground mode: Battlebots inspired battle. 250kg weight limit and melee weapons only. No block limit or power core limit.

To everyone who is asking about Shield Layering. You can layer the shields but don't bother because people are just going to set there EMP's to stagger fire anyways which is just going to render the Layered shield tactic completely useless. And what i mean by Stagger Fire for those who don't understand it's where you set delays on your firing input for each weapon like the first weapon has 0 delay and the second weapon has a 0.15 delay and the third weapon has a 0.30 delay (That is an example for stagger fire smart cannons btw which speeds up there fire rate as well) and so on which enables your weapons to fire in rapid succession.
Find out how many shield can you put in one vehicle!!!

Hey what’s better for two shields? Double stacked front shields, left and right shields, top and bottom shields or front and back shields? I think a fast craft with double front shields would be good for attack runs. No one could chase you if you had the speed advantage, and it would be hard to do damage while you are attacking because if you get through one shield you have to get through another after. Then you can extend and let them recharge.
Until you run into someone who has a bunch of EMP launchers set to stagger fire which renders that shield tactic useless.

Scrapman's craft is something like a tie fighter. Tie fighters had little to no shielding but were outfitted with very powerful blasters capable of destroying ships in seconds. Although because of their little shielding they were easily destroyed so usually employed the strategy of strength in numbers. The reason Scrapman lost, he was a lone tie fighter fighting for its life.
you should do an experiment on what the EMP effects
It scrambles the controls of whatever block area it hits but has a lower chance of setting off dynamite, Pistons and Detachable blocks (Which means if you have a ejection seat well get ready to be yeeted out of your creation XD).
Damn, if they wont disable normal thrusters in space (becouse there is no air for combustion, duh), then there is absolutley no reason to use new Space thrusters becouse they lack in power

Description:
A small, millitary grade spacecraft, designed to get in and get out. It earns the name The Bullet because its agility, speed, firepower. The most notable feature is the lack of a full shield. This was mostly due to budget cuts. It includes 2 rapid fire, high power plasma emitters. It uses earth class thrusters, powered by and advanced on board atmosphere generator and intake pump.
Desinger: Billy [REDACTED] hired as part of the scrapmen initiative.

You should do a Juggernaut battle. One person makes a monster large battle cruiser and the others will make smaller ships and will try to take down the juggernaut.
You could also try scoring by kills instead of last one standing and play until first player gets x points. Now that you can change the projectile color it would be easy to say who got the kill.

7:30 Huh. That style vaguely reminds me of the (dating myself here) Explorers series main ship for LEGO...but the back also reminiscent of the Archangel (Gundam SEED).
Question do the hover pads work in space I’ve never seen them in space before and I’m wondering how fast I can go if I use the hover pad glitch
